Symptom spotters, tww - ers, slightly hysterical hormone laden ladies! Regs, lurkers, intermittent posters! Our raison d'etre is 'am I pregnant?' Depending on how much Ovia (Whybird/Ovibitch) has pissed us off/messed with our fw she is either the oracle or a sanctimonious charlatan.

Just a warning, we move FAST! Our threads last on average, about a week before they're full.

Thread 9 , Welcome one and all! Group of weirdos, wee hoarders, covert opk or okp, depending on what your autocorrect decides addicts with a side business in CM management!

We do not judge, we enjoy TMI, we i encourage waiting to poas nobody listens and all the grossness you can find from a group of intelligent, articulate ladies. Fart stories make us laugh, stories about cervical mucus, pooing, cysts and nausea equally welcome.

Post your stats and add your dates. We have a register thanks to kat, I have been dubbed the resident piss stick queen loaaaaaads of bfp'ers who keep us positive! We don't have rules, we love a good symptom spot, we try to stay grounded and not be hysterical sometimes we manage it aswell

We like acronyms, we make some up: PET = Proper expensive test. We love the d(h)...which can of course mean 'dearest' or 'dickhead' why, what were you thinking?

Kathrino I'm still not convinced. I could still be on the seat behind you on the March bus.

DH isn't interested in testing. He just asked if I really have to test. Err yes! He's also completely confused about how a pregnancy is dated.

StarkyTheDirewolf · 05/02/2016 19:23

kath I think because bodies are bastards. But I always blame hormones and stress.

planeteer I think two/three days of positive is fairly normal. I got a really peak day and then two days of solid positives. I started dtd on peak day and then every day for the next three days after. I'd class o-day as the day of the last positive. Because your lh levels peak, go positive and then tail off. So the lh surge is indicating that you're about to ovulate, rather than that you're actually ovulating. But I've read it's best to dtd a lot as you're getting the positives because it gives the sperm the chance to get to the egg as it's released.

Fingers crossed for you cosmo

On our way up to Sheffield this evening to stay with my best mate, who's an obs and gynae doctor who is also ttc. Going to ask her all the questions!

Have also got definite EWCM so we will be DTD in her spare room Grin

Planeteer · 05/02/2016 19:00

I have a question for our resident opk oracle that might earn me the ttc dunce's hat (almost as stylish as the AF cheerleaders outfits).
Starky how many consecutive days would you expect positive opks? I'm now on day 3 of them looking like this, and confused as to when to start counting dpo from...

Re cycle length, does anyone know why they might change? When I look back to late 2014/early-mid 2015, I was averaging cycles of around 36/37 days with the longest at 43 days. Since the summer, they've been more like 28 days. I've never been on the pill or anything like that so no obvious reason for the change. Is it just one of those things?

FX for tomorrow Co5mo!!

Evergreen15 · 05/02/2016 18:46

Oh dear! Fx if that about the good quality sex is true, then I will defo never get preggo. Another obstacle! I will choose to ignore that info.

Yvonne1986 · 05/02/2016 18:36

All of my cycles have been long but I've always had AF two weeks after OV so I would definitely test next week Starky X

StarkyTheDirewolf · 05/02/2016 18:28

Completely understand you there co5mo that's what I try to do too. Longest recorded cycle has been 41 days. I'm on cd23 I think and 6 dpo, so in theory, af could potentially not arrive for another 3 weeks, even though ovia is telling me to test in a week!

Yvonne1986 · 05/02/2016 18:26

Co5mo that's so cute exciting that your testing tomorrow FX for you! X

Kathrino · 05/02/2016 18:23

Jem, I'm exactly the same. I know theoretically that we might end up with a baby at the end of this but I just can't actually even begin to imagine it what it would actually be like + I'm pretty sure I'll actually lose my mind if/when I do get a BFP.

Co5mo · 05/02/2016 18:21

Ovia would have had me test on Tuesday just gone Miley but because of the variable cycle length, I have self imposed a test date of tomorrow as I would have expected AF to arrive today if I was having a cycle as long as the longest I've had. Does that make sense? Cramping is back but still not AF so I now have a FRER in the house. The big question is can I sit on my hands all night and not use it and will DH make me take it the moment he walks in the door.

Elle of course you can crochet a scarf. Get yourself registered on ravelry.com and see all the beautiful things you can make. I prefer knitting for clothes generally but they do take a long time to make. I mostly knit soft toys.

StarkyTheDirewolf · 05/02/2016 18:18

Me neither, we already have a moses basket (it cost £1!) And we've been collecting little bits, couple of babygrows etc, only I'd stuff is in sale. Fully expecting Dh to come home with the pushchair at some point next week.

The way I'm looking at it is, I'd I never get a bfp and don't get to be a mum, then I'll bundle it all up and give it to a charity I know which helps underprivileged kids and mums in need. My late grandma used to collect and buy new school uniform every year and donate it because she used to say that no child should have to start school without a new uniform.

I'm the same SuchaJem I don't feel like it will ever result in a baby! X

SuchaJem · 05/02/2016 17:54

Oh god baby stuff sale. I can't even imagine having to buy baby stuff. It's like I'm trying but I don't really believe it could result in a real live person.

firstgo1984 · 05/02/2016 17:36

So i may test next week if no AF and any symptoms

StarkyTheDirewolf · 05/02/2016 17:30

It did mine when I first came off it first admittedly this was years ago but it probably took me about 6 months to get a proper period back. Depo was worse, I didn't have a cycle for about a year. There good when you're not ttc, but when it comes down to it, it's a bastard.

In other news, aldi has a load of baby stuff on sale. Cloth nappies, moses baskets and from newborn buggies (£22.99, not that I looked, a lot)

firstgo1984 · 05/02/2016 17:26

kat my last cycle post pill was 77 days, which is why i haven't tested yet. My almost positive opk and ewcm last tuesday and wednesday are the only slight hint of ovulation. The pill has really messd my cycle up

Feefeefs · 05/02/2016 17:08

Ha ha about Hugh!

Snowdog37 · 05/02/2016 16:50

I can't get a properly positive opk 😜 So I go by temps. I'm 3dpo according to FF now... Let the crazies begin!

StarkyTheDirewolf · 05/02/2016 16:44

Haha Hugh the covert cervix loiterer! Grin maybe it's not cervical mucus, maybe Hugh just has a cold! I bet I can make Dh believe one of my reproductive organs proper name is 'hugh'. Hugh stroking!

jem they are picky and twatty! Oh no, we can't have that sperm! Off with its head! Natural selection my arse!

first opk's aren't always good for everyone, or you may have a dodgy batch? I'd definitely test, you get the biggest Starky's Star! StarStarStar

KatOnATinRo0f · 05/02/2016 16:23

i think i can feel the first twang of AF pain. I'm going to ignore it. :'(

KatOnATinRo0f · 05/02/2016 16:21

no stark i was on the original one too... i think its our turn next! jumps to the front of the queue tee tee. we've been trying since august. starting to be worried there might be something wrong with me. :-S

...you can get purple toilet paper?! thats just weird?!

Jem cervix position changes throughout the normal cycle. can tell you when you are ovulating. and possible when pregnant too. I'm not saying more as I'm writing this while reading the rest and I'm sure someone's already explained it...

yup.. theres stark explaining it. (i knew it would be her). I dont like touching it! who was our O&G doc? has she migrated to the grads thread now??

omg! first i took you off the list as you were due to test aaggeeess ago and we didnt hear anything from you! are you crazy?! i dont know how anyone could get to more than 30 days of cycle without testing! huge starky star for you! Star now go test!

OMG... I'm completely calling my cervix Hugh from now on. I'm not sure my cervix should had a name. might be even weirder touching it him??

Kathrino · 05/02/2016 16:18

Imagine studying for years and years to become a respected scientist and then to spend your days making pigs orgasm. All of a sudden, my job doesn't seem so bad.

FXSkip · 05/02/2016 15:53

Jem well, what I took from the program is that when OH/DH/Whoever is really really excited, they expel more ejaculate, so more sperms to choose from, apparently as much as 50% more. In addition, women who orgasm during sex increase their fertility by around 6% (according to tests on pigs)

Laurenowls · 05/02/2016 15:40

Finally just caught up on pages! But nothing new to report here except from bleeding has now gone away and im kooking forward to start trying properly xx
