Symptom spotters, tww - ers, slightly hysterical hormone laden ladies! Regs, lurkers, intermittent posters! Our raison d'etre is 'am I pregnant?' Depending on how much Ovia (Whybird/Ovibitch) has pissed us off/messed with our fw she is either the oracle or a sanctimonious charlatan.

Just a warning, we move FAST! Our threads last on average, about a week before they're full.

We do not judge, we enjoy TMI, we i encourage waiting to poas nobody listens and all the grossness you can find from a group of intelligent, articulate ladies. Fart stories make us laugh, stories about cervical mucus, pooing, cysts and nausea equally welcome.

We like acronyms, we make some up: PET = Proper expensive test. We love the d(h)...which can of course mean 'dearest' or 'dickhead' why, what were you thinking?

Choc we have always talked about having a family one day, but he has always said I should be the one to drive it as I wanted to hold back for career reasons when we first got married. I am glad we have had some time on our own, but am now having a panic that I have been too laid back and we should have started sooner!

Ladies I am 11 dpo and I don't know how much longer I can hold out. I am a testing virgin so have no idea what the best tests are! I know I won't get a starky star but if I do test early (in the next few days) what should I use?

Firstgo- my cycle was 37 days in all so about a week longer than average for me.

In hindsight, i hadn't exercised much that cycle and wonder if that played a part in things not ticking over as they normally would. So hard to get motivated in this awful wind and rain tho!

Having said that, i do think i ovulated late as i had three days of light spotting just after my ovia fertile week, and didnt do enough dtd!

When I raised TTC with my DH, he'd clearly been thinking about it but he absolutely hates any kind of serious discussion like that (he says it makes him feel old) so I knew that hell would freeze over before he brought up the topic.

It's a beautiful day here today and as AF's arrival means that I've got at least one more month of a salary before any maternity leave, I've decided to do a bit of shopping and update my wardrobe today.

Kat, so sorry for the baby bomb. I know a couple of people who keep talking about how easy it is to get pregnant and I generally want to throw something at their heads.

First that's a really good sign, sore boobs were my first symptom at 7dpo and I tested at 11dpo. Stay strong til AF is due though for a more reliable result and a starky star!!

Lil and ever, it must just mean that they weren't monitoring fertility signs i guess, or having any more sex than usual.

Dh and i have been avoiding fertile week as a means of contraception for quite a long time before ttc as i wanted to come off the pill, but if it had happened we would have been OK.

Agree with ever, people always play it down. Does having unprotected sex mean not trying? What did they think would happen? What's the difference 'not trying to not get pregnant' and 'trying to get pregnant'? Semantics! Both involve having unprotected sex and they would have had to consciously come off the pill etc

Feefs yes, what irregular said. More pressure! As during fw we barely get the energy to dtd quickly, no way we can go the extra mile... I am so exhausted and so is he..
Jam I have been using preseed. So far no bfp but I will keep you posted. We always use lube anyway so I went for the fertility friendly
Snow one of my best friends is a doula and also a nurse for premature babies in the USA. I find it so inspiring SmileI am soooooo jealous of you moving to the US!

Kat "without even trying" what is that supposed to mean? How upsetting. They might have been having unprotected sex for years, so whatever. I refuse to listen to those stories, ignore. People play it down

I don't drink any more really as not allowed so only when we are at friends. Good friend I saw tonight told me out other mutual friend is approx 2 months preg "without even trying" ... They got married the week after us too.

Only 6% for women and 50% for men?! Ttc gets worse!! Erm, when relaying data those stats may be accidentally swapped ... Dont want dh to get the wrong end of the stick!!

Evening all, not properly caught up but noticed some disappointment over the quality sex issue - it seems that female orgasms possible increase fertility by 6%, so not worth worrying about, but high quality male arousal can increase sperm count\quality by as much as 50%. This appears to have been tested on men who watched porn before sex, so I take it to mean that quickies aren't as good, that's all.needs further research
