Symptom spotters, tww - ers, slightly hysterical hormone laden ladies! Regs, lurkers, intermittent posters! Our raison d'etre is 'am I pregnant?' Depending on how much Ovia (Whybird/Ovibitch) has pissed us off/messed with our fw she is either the oracle or a sanctimonious charlatan.

Just a warning, we move FAST! Our threads last on average, about a week before they're full.

Thread 9 , Welcome one and all! Group of weirdos, wee hoarders, covert opk or okp, depending on what your autocorrect decides addicts with a side business in CM management!

We do not judge, we enjoy TMI, we i encourage waiting to poas nobody listens and all the grossness you can find from a group of intelligent, articulate ladies. Fart stories make us laugh, stories about cervical mucus, pooing, cysts and nausea equally welcome.

Post your stats and add your dates. We have a register thanks to kat, I have been dubbed the resident piss stick queen loaaaaaads of bfp'ers who keep us positive! We don't have rules, we love a good symptom spot, we try to stay grounded and not be hysterical sometimes we manage it aswell

We like acronyms, we make some up: PET = Proper expensive test. We love the d(h)...which can of course mean 'dearest' or 'dickhead' why, what were you thinking?

If anyone wants to try Hello Fresh check out www.hellofresh.co.uk with code WDZ9S6 to get 20quid off (just be sure to cancel subscription afterwards so you don't get charged for the following week)

FXSkip · 02/02/2016 08:36

Hi positivity and welcome! Dpo is days past ovulation - (i love www.countdowntopregnancy.com for its dpo chat)

Feefs having a 10 second breath (in for 4, hold, out for 4, hold) stimulates the parasympathetic nervous system, rest and digest as opposed to fight or flight. Lowers blood pressure and allows blood flow to restore to non-essential organs - including baby makers! It's a great tool for anxiety and stress management

Ni4444 · 02/02/2016 08:32

Feefs I agree...make a list prioritising your tasks (what really HAS to get done this week), identify things that can be delegated, maybe shut yourself off somewhere to reduce colleague, email, or phone interruptions. Use your commuting time or lunchtime to take a few minutes...some paced breathing (spend a few minutes breathing out for longer than you breath in. Count in 1,2,3, pause, out 1,2,3,4,5, pause, repeat-forces a physiological change in the body which causes it to calm), or try listening to the mindfulness app Calm (exercises as short as 2/3minutes). And keep nourishing your body with good food! Try Hello Fresh if it's too hard to find time to shop for good groceries. Try to push worries away...they get you nowhere, and keep stress levels high

positivity123 · 02/02/2016 08:29

Also I've been lurking for a while and it's good to hear of all of the BFPs. Just got one question? What is dpo?

Ni4444 · 02/02/2016 08:25

Oh 7dpo, it was all going swimmingly until you came along! (yesterday) Started noticing gentle cramps, same again this morning...Couldn't get to sleep last night for thinking about when, who and how I would tell people about my non existant BFP. Bye sanity 👋 ! See you in a week!!!

Morning everyone!

Congratulations Indi that is a stonking line!!

I'm sorry miw :( such a shame AF got u. Onwards and upwards to the March bus.
I'm supposed to test on 7th but I have a feeling AF will turn up early again this month.

List on the way so we can see where everyone is... We've still got some January stragglers, holly is patiently waiting for AF so I will sit her on the feb bus for now....anyone seen/heard Sea or First??

We did pretty darned well last month girls loads of BFPs to celebrate! (I am taking pleasure in the group enjoyment of other people's BFPs as I don't have one... Is that a bit crazy?)

Re stress at work... It depends what it is.... What do u do? If it's sheer volume of stuff to get done, I find TD lists essential. Sometimes I have three or 4 going a day to make sure I do different things. I have just started bullet journaling which i hope will help me to be a bit more productive. If it's general stress that u can't do anything about, actually finding a few mins to relax and practice mindfulness or some yoga breathing (or get to a yoga class one evening a week) is the only thing. When I don't do yoga, because I am too stressed/busy to go, I realise that everything is a bit worse after a few weeks. When I force myself to go at the end of the class I am just more relaxed.

Evergreen15 · 02/02/2016 08:10

Indi mega congrats on BFP!
Snow my cycles have regulated a lot more since quitting coffee, alcohol and sugar I stuffed my face last night though

IndiX · 02/02/2016 08:09

Thanks ladies!
Runner could you please post the link to the grads thread again? Grin

Sorry for AF's/bfn's ladies. Get some wine and chocolate and look after yourself. Get ready for a major shagathon in just over a week! Xx

positivity123 · 02/02/2016 08:08

Hi all. Please can I join? Really need people to talk to as I'm going insane.
TTC#1
Age 31
Cycle 5
AF is due today but not feeling positive as I am having cramps. I was pregnant last year but found at my 12 week scan that it had stopped at 6 weeks. Last time we got pregnant first time so I thought it would be easy again but it is proving to be more tricky which is messing with my head. Started using OPKs this month and I ovulated on day 18 which is later than I thought.
We dtd 3 times in 24 hours once I saw the LH surge so fingers crossed
Any tips for keeping sane?

Ladies
I have to catch up on a whole day of messages, but my update is that what a bloody fool I tested today.
I am not disappointed as I knew I was defo not preggo. I only tested because I thought, based on previous charts, that my lutheal phase is 11 dpo normally, so at 12dpo today I was expecting AF, yet my temps stayed high. And ovia said to test bloody fool .But then on FF and Kindara and Kat's master sheet it says the 5th of Feb. So I think I need to fix my data as Lutheal someone wrote lethal plase and still pissing myself phase is supposed to remain constant, so maybe I got ov date wrong on my past chart.
Anyhow. defo not preggo and had wine and chocolate Confused

Runner05 · 02/02/2016 07:39

Well done Indi that is definitely BFP! Head over to grads and say hello when you're ready Smile

Feefeefs · 02/02/2016 07:31

Yay indi ! sorry the witch got you miw.

Monster stressed a work at the moment has anyone got some good(and by that I mean easy) stress management tips? I've done CBT and stuff before but honestly knackered with everything that's going on and can't manage to get anything else done, it's work, sleep, work, sleep at the moment

Mileymoocow · 02/02/2016 07:10

Aww indi Yay! Big fat congratulations!!! Flowers come over to the dark side where your arse causes gale force wind and you can't have a full nights sleep uninterrupted by your needy bladder.

fx still Lolling at your yoga fanny!!! 😂😂

My cousin had her beautiful baby boy yesterday. He is literally so perfect I haven't stopped crying since she rang me. My other cousin went for her 12 week scan yesterday and I had my 1st midwife appt! Weird!! Feb 1st was a good day for us all.

miwelaisjacydo · 02/02/2016 06:57

Well the witch has now appeared. She mush have been hiding!!!
Next ovulation window is in half term. This will be great as have a week off and DH has most of the week off :).
Which ovulation tests do people recommend?

Bananarma · 02/02/2016 06:56

Big congratulations Indi! Flowers

I'm with you Holly cramping Cd 25 BFN with FMU can only think the worst Sad

Holly300 · 02/02/2016 06:41

15dpo - Just tested again right now and still BFN :( awaiting the witch now so that I can start my new cycle!

miwelaisjacydo · 02/02/2016 06:16

Indix wow 😊
starky I know what you mean. Being on first cycle of TTC has been mostly awful due to the pressure I have put on myself. and the TWW is a killer but I have been taught valuable lessons for next time.
In other news Af I thought was here is not yet. I had a little spotting which has now stopped.
Just wish I 100% knew one way or the other.

IndiX · 02/02/2016 05:28

it's confirmed! GrinGrinGrin
Line is still faint because I'm not actually due AF until ThursdayBlush but 2 lines popped up within 3 mins, so happy!
xxxxxxxxx
P.s. Hardly slept as couldn't wait to test/kept thinking I needed a wee

In other news, my burps can rival the gale force wind blowing the green house gradually across the patio outside! I am a one woman wind vane! 😨

Exactly ni in the time two days between doing the pg test and af arriving I genuinely felt like a failure! And wtfs that all about! I think it may have been partly down to Dh being so sure one squirt of jizz and I'd immediately be pregnant with triplets I was convinced briefly that I'd let him down in some way! And that's ridiculous!

I made him watch 'the great sperm race' today on the promise that we could dtd afterwards stick and carrot and about 20 minutes in he went "babe, can we watch this later please? I'm losing my boner and my balls are getting scared" He now understands the complexity of ttc! And we both found the bit about lap dancers making more money when they're ovulating hilarious, because it's absolutely true! 😂

OP posts:
Ni4444 · 01/02/2016 23:39

Beautifully put Stark. I have never been as obsessive as I was in cycle 1. Totally agree... I thought if it didn't happen then that I'd failed in some way. 20% chance per cycle and got to trust our bodies that they will only implant what has a good chance. but totally normal to go through periods of mad impatience too!

StarkyTheDirewolf · 01/02/2016 23:30

lillian I genuinely think we work ourselves up so much in cycle 1. I was borderline psychotic thinking if I didn't catch my first go then I'd have no "beginners luck" and would never end up pregnant! That's when I decoded to not poas until af day, because I knew I'd only work myself up more! And even though I'd completely overshot my fertile window, didn't understand opk's at all and Dh was away + it was Christmas, I was desperate to get a bfp!

Af showed up and I immediately calmed down! I think we all wind ourselves up and convince ourselves of absolutes, ie if I don't have sex NOW then I'm not going to get pregnant and will die alone! My opk was slightly darker than it was yesterday, I'm obviously ovulating and Dh isn't here so I'm never going to get pregnant and die alone!

And every day in the tww feels like a lifetime, and even if we've got this gs to do and are busy then it's still TWO WEEKS! two weeks would fly by if we were on a beach sipping cocktails and enjoying the sunshine! But when the weather is cold and grey it's indeterminate and forever! And we worry about if we can have that piece of cheese, or if it's safe to have a glass of wine, and every twitch, cramp and glob of fanny juice is to be inspected and fret about.

I'm being grateful that I have a wonderful Dh who loves me, my house is warm and my dogs are cwtched up in front of the fire loving life. Roll on all of us getting our bfp's so we can start to obsess about a whole new world of stress! Flowers Grin
