Hi ladies,

This is the 2nd thread following on from

www.mumsnet.com/Talk/conception/2452018-Waiting-to-try-and-cycle-a-mess-from-the-pill

For everyone who is entering the madness that is Ttc after stopping the pill. Maybe to start the thread we could all post our stats, so we remember where everyone is at and don't have to check the old thread. X

Lemon- you do make me smile it's so nice your so positive really is lovely! And yes we are cycle buddies.. I'm dreading tomorrow just hope I don't get the symptoms I will just have to wait til tuesday if not fx for both of us!

Cookie - thanks Hun I hope so but I see so many women on 9/10 dpo testing and getting bfp and I've been testing with first response only cause they on for 6 quid at the moment and I'm getting annoyed haha! But your so right I need to have the patience to wait til AF shows! Have ur cycles been getting longer? I look on netmums and there's a couple of women who have short luteal phases and 2 of them have managed to get a bfp this month so here's hoping Hun xxx

Cookie22 · 13/03/2016 20:02

Sunny, can totally emphasise with you! Long cycles suck! I hate not having a clue when I'm going to ov or if I've even ov'd at all! I'm only cd18 and negative CB opk today. I just know I'll end up getting a positive OPK in my late cd20s then AF will rock up a week later! Might as well call my waiting week the one week wait, not tww! Are you going to assume you've ov'd or keep doing OPKs just incase you haven't yet?

Ooh Lemon, Chapman, I'm keeping everything crossed for you two! Both your signs sound promising. Lemon you really are a funny girly; it's so nice to have a cheery post to read amidst all this frustrating waiting about! Chapman, 12dpo might just be too early to show on the frer- you ain't out yet! Xx

LemonShizzleCake · 13/03/2016 19:37

Aww, thanks chapman (and some others who have found my ramblings amusing) - glad I'm brightening your day in some small way!

Looks like we are cycle buddies this month Wink - FX AF stays away for both of us on tues!

cnchapmanxx · 13/03/2016 18:22

Lemon you are so funny doll!
You make me chuckle every time I read your posts and the friends quote had me in stitches I loved that episode!
I am too 12dpo and stupid me has only gone and done 3 tests and all bfn! 😡😡 I normally get bad cramps and that horrible feeling the night before period and she's due on Tuesday so il know tomorrow if she's going to make an appearance! It's horrible symptom spotting isn't it! Would be lovely if you managed to conceive first cycle !! 👍🏻
I've had sore boobs since like last week and there swelled and my nipples look huge but no darkening so I don't know!
Sunny your charts are always amazing I'm always in awe at them! I really do feel for you having these long cycles not knowing when you are ovulating or false ovulating I've sort of given up with the the opks mind you I haven't got any left! Really feel if I haven't conceived this month am gonna have to start temping my thermometer has just been sat In the draw! But your charts are giving me hope! My weekends been ok work nearly every Saturday doing overtime and this 2ww has been the longest of my life just waiting for AF to show now after bfn the past 3 days all with first response! Xxx

LemonShizzleCake · 13/03/2016 17:57

Sunny that is some chart! I don't use FF, it looks very technical...though that may be a good thing as I find Ovia very simplistic (it doesn't seem to "learn" from my previous cycles or any temps etc that I put in and just gives me the same assumed cycle length and ovulation date each month!) Sorry you're having a confusing time of it - hopefully things will become clearer soon. Do you try to take your temp at the same time each day, as soon as you wake up? That's supposed to help with accuracy.

I am going a bit nuts this afternoon - symptom spotting has started! I am now on CD34 and (I think) about 10 or 11 dpo. If I'm right, AF should be due around tues - I don't normally get any symptoms before she makes her entrance, so the absence of cramps at this stage is nothing unusual. However I am having RAGING heartburn, both yesterday afternoon and today. I sometimes get it anyway, but to have it two days in a row seems unusual. I'm eating Rennies like Smarties.

I know it's unlikely I'm pg yet, as this is our first cycle TTC, so it's probably just that I've eaten too much spicy food (had a curry last night, though that was after the first lot of heartburn) - esp as I don't have sore boobs or anything else. But at the same time it's exciting/terrifying!

Going to wait until at least tuesday to test. I know I might get a result on a FRER earlier, but I also know that (as horrible as it is to consider) sometimes very early pregnancies fail/mc of their own accord at such an early stage that, if you hadn't tested, you wouldn't have known about them at all and would just assume it was AF as normal Sad So, much as I am itching to see results, I am going to wait and give the (potential) embryo plenty of time to settle in just in case...

In the meantime it doesn't stop me singing "are you in there little foetus, in 9 months will you come greet us?" in my head, like Phoebe from Friends. Yes I am mad Grin

Sunnydays321 · 13/03/2016 10:09

Also that low temp it's using as ovulation was done really at about 5.30 as I couldn't sleep so it's probably inaccurate. And if I take it out it moves cross hairs to an equally unlikely place. 😂

OP posts:
Sunnydays321 · 13/03/2016 10:08

Oops didn't post my horrible chart! If this cross hairs were tru 90% of my temps are over the line. I think it's wrong!

Em84, sorry about af. Hope the cramps have settled.

Shan: have your tests been delivered to your island yet? :) Iv really got my fingers crossed for you.

Cookie and lemon: I know, it is annoying but I hadn't really expected my GP to offer a referral in the 1st place as she knows we haven't been trying a year. I saw the GP just before we started trying for a genetics referral and I told her we weren't trying yet so no chance of white lies here. And yes cookie, all my bloody adverts are for clear blue, johnsons etc! Can't even do a bit of sneaky googling without being ratted out by the interweb.

I'm cycle day 39 now. I don't think Iv ovulated yet, I had those opks 2 weeks ago that were maybe positive but probably not. But no sore nipples yet which is my normal sign. Fertility friend keeps trying to give me cross hairs and an ovulation date and then changing it every few days, just cos I think it doesn't like it when you get to cd40 and haven't ov'd. It's a bit confusing because I'm waiting to do progesterone bloods, so it's tempting to book them based on ff but I'm not convinced enough and I don't want to do them and get it wrong. And I was a bit silly and got grumpy and bored and felt like there was no point last week so haven't really did much last couple of weeks... Which I know won't get me a baby so if I have ov'd Iv probably missed it. Look at my horrible rocky pcos chart! 😕 on the plus side I do feel more chilled out now... It's out of my hands so just need to be patient. Is everyone having a good weekend? Xx

OP posts:
Cookie22 · 13/03/2016 09:35

Sorry to hear about your referral being refused Sunny, that's rotten! I think I'm in roughly the same boat as you and don't think they'll do anything until I've reached the year mark (tho I did tell a little white lie and say I've been trying for a few months longer than I actually have been BlushBlush).

Where are we at in our cycles ladies? I'm cd 18- no sign of ov! Feeling much, much more relaxed this month. Though I do say that every month then the tww begins & I turn into psycho lady! Random but does anyone else's adverts on Facebook, YouTube etc get tweaked to what you've been searched for on the Internet? I was listening to Spotify last night before a night out and the adverts just had a recurrent theme of Pampers, Clear Blue, Prams etc! Felt it was rubbing salt in the wound!!

Shan, have you tested again yet? Lemon you are too funny! I too have images of you living on a remote island Shan- get to a Chemist Mrs!! Or even order some frer off eBay in bulk then at least you have them in! Grinxx

LemonShizzleCake · 11/03/2016 23:58

FX for you and your next test shan - though I'm now having visions of you living on a desert island somewhere with no chemists Wink

I am SO familiar with the post-coital waddle, Sunny and Cookie! Grin DH finds it hilarious and not at all sexy I'm sure. Good to hear that the swimmers are doggedly pushing onwards (hopefully) and the remains are not required...

Sunny the only thing I have done differently this month is taking folic acid & vitamin supplement (the pink Sanatogen "mum to be" one, 3for2 in Sainsburys at the mo if anyone's interested), so maybe that has somehow filled in something I was missing and helped get my cycles back on track. Who the heck knows! Sorry to hear about your GP referral being cancelled Angry It's so frustrating isn't it, when you're being dismissed just because some rulebook says you haven't tried for long enough - this was basically what the GP said when I first went in, because I wasn't TTC, but I put up a bit of a fight and my referral went through...maybe a postcode lottery SadBlush But let's try to look on the bright side...FX you'll soon be pg anyway and referrals will be irrelevant! x

shankate182 · 11/03/2016 20:02

Bobo
What I never taught of it that way? I'm just waiting for af to show up but can understand why it's so late and I'm getting no cramps nothing usually I do be killed with them? OMG I'm kinda excited now but I'm not building my hopes up? For me to get my hands on a test Is a task because there's nowhere around dat sells them I may get DH to see can he pick me up one :)

Ememem84 · 11/03/2016 17:41

Well. Af arrived today. After two weeks of on and off feeling sick and lightheaded.

Poas on Monday after panic buying and negative. Confirmed today by af.

Not too upset about it. At least I know it's back!!!

Forgot how painful cramps were though. Sad

BoBo90 · 10/03/2016 13:52

Shan- You've not tested since last Thursday? You need to test again! You might be pregnant and not know it because you're waiting for af to turn up! You could have a long wait haha 😄

Sunnydays321 · 10/03/2016 07:40

It's annoying isn't is shanskate. Hopefully your af is late because you are going to get a bfp. But Iv stopped using my ovia and glow apps because it just works on basic algorithms and previous cycle data to make predictions, which is great if you are very regular, but it can't actually tell you when you ovulate, and therefore when af is due. i use opks and confirm them with temping, and put the data into fertility friend. That's the only way to know for sure when you ovulate and when af is due/late xx

OP posts:
shankate182 · 09/03/2016 23:16

I'm using an app but it has been always right 😯

Sunnydays321 · 09/03/2016 22:59

I had a letter to phone up and book my gynae appt, but when I phoned they said the consultant has reviewed the federal and it has been rejected. They wouldn't tell me why but she said it's likely because I don't meet criteria (I'm not surprised.. Iv been off pill 9 months but only been officially trying for 6). But obviously referral was for pcos rather than fertility. So just waiting to see what GP says.

Sorry GP fobbed you off cookie. Go back and see then if things don't improve. Although as you can see from my situation even if go does take you seriously it still won't get through to gynae til you meet the 1 year mark criteria! (Or 6 months I think if you are over 35, which was probably what they meant by the "young" comment, you are the same age as me... I don't feel particularly young either but know we are still in reproductive terms).

lemon that's great news if you have ovulated early. Are you doing anything different this month? Also eurgh... The dreaded wet patch. Everything Iv read suggests that the actual swimmers are shot at great speed to where they need To go... And what's left is the seminal fluid which is no use to anyone so doesn't matter if it comes out. I lie there as long as I can bear to (what is a romantically acceptable amount of time before you leap up to wee!) before I waddle off to toilet trying to hold everything in with my pelvic floor lift! It's good exercise! Haha.

shanskate have you done any more tests. Were you temping to confirm ovulation? Cycles can be all over the shop after stopping pill... I stopped 9 months ago and my cycles are completely random from 29 days to 100! So it's very difficult to say when af is due, and therefore when it's late.

newgirl how are you? Feeling ok? How many weeks are you now?

X

shankate182 · 09/03/2016 22:49

That's the thing iv never being irregular? Always had af on time I'm getting paranoid that now everything will go wrong after 3 months of being off it? I don't one test in total which was a tesco one last Thursday as the 2nd 1 was invalid? So I dno weather I'm wasting my time testing?

BoBo90 · 09/03/2016 19:41

The only thing you can do Shan is keep testing or go to the dr for a blood test. At least you will definitely
know either way if try do blood tests.
The only other thing I can think of is that you maybe didn't ovulate and therefore won't have af until you do.
I hope it's a naughty egg and just refusing to show on tests!! Fx for you xxx

shankate182 · 09/03/2016 19:20

I'm off it since the start of December

Cookie22 · 09/03/2016 18:31

Thanks girls, I think I'll possibly go see another gp if there's no change by May time. I'm going on holiday next month so will try and enjoy that & (as the doctor patronisingly put it) make the most of my holiday child free. I can see her point but not the medical advice I want to hear from a doctor!

Your hol just sounds like heaven Chapman! I just love Rome. There's so much to see & do! Lemon, your post cheered me up chick! Totally know what you mean about not wanting to lose the precious swimmers. When I finally get up my DH always laughs at my 'waddle run' to the bathroom - tmi!! Grin

New girl, how you keeping Hun? Have you told anyone else the news yet?

Shan, have you done another test recently? Might still just be the side effects of coming off the pill! Think we all seem to be in similar positions with regards to wild cycles! My AF was over a week late last month so I know how frustrating it is xx

shankate182 · 09/03/2016 16:46

Hey girls
Still no sign of AF atal I'm almost 2 weeks late ? I don't know what's going on? Any ideas of what's happening :(

NewGirl2015 · 09/03/2016 12:30

Thanks Chapman!

I have to confess I'm still lurking on this thread to see how you are all getting on.
Too scared to jinx anything by joining a pregnancy thread yet!!

Good luck to you all xx

cnchapmanxx · 08/03/2016 22:07

Lemon - you are funny Hun! I know this is minging but after me and DH dtd I tend not to shower until the next morning or if it's morning sex wait about an hour! So no you are not on your own! 😜 Whatever needs to be done we shall do it!
Fx you catch the little sneaky egg! I never know when I'm coming or going with ewcm Asin when it starts when do you ovulated and how much dtd are you mean to do it's so confusing I totally agree with what u said about trying all your life not to get pregnant!
Thanks lovely it was such a nice holiday I ate what I want (drank too much prosecco!) and just had a really nice time! Trying to cram as many holidays in before we have a baby.. We can only afford them cause a) we don't have any children get and b) we work so much overtime it's ridiculous haha! XXXX

LemonShizzleCake · 08/03/2016 21:45

XP with chapman re GP! Deffo try another doctor if you can Cookie Smile

Chapman I am super jealous of your holiday. Rome is gorgeous! Wish DH and I had something booked...but due to lack of funds we can't book at the moment, and also have no free time for the next few months. Think we might end up booking something last minute later in the summer and just seeing where we end up!

LemonShizzleCake · 08/03/2016 21:42

Cookie that's terrible! I did experience one GP who said similar things (in fact even said that the "treatment" for PCOS is going back on the pill, so that's what I should do Hmm), but even so she still referred me for tests when I insisted - I pointed out that even though I wasn't TTC at the time, I wanted to make sure I had a "clean slate" (as much as possible) so I was ready to go when we did want to start. The fact that you're already TTC should speed the process up, definitely! Is it possible for you to get a second opinion from another GP? When I later saw a locum doc, he was in full agreement that I was right to push for getting things sorted ASAP - so hopefully if there's someone else you can speak to they will say the same.

shankate sorry about your BFN - have there been any developments since?

Flowers for everyone this month I think - sounds like lots of us are feeling a bit confused and delicate, with good reason!

Things are a bit weird here...now on CD29 of what I thought was a 50 day cycle, so was planning to DTD as much as possible starting around CD 30 and then continue on for a couple of weeks and see if AF put in an appearance. Wasn't expecting anything at all before then, as this is my lazy cycle's "quiet time"! However, then this happened:

  • CD22 EWCM, seemed v early...but we thought what the heck, so DTD
  • CD23 pelvic pain which I sometimes get at ov
  • CD26 more EWCM
  • CD26-29 raised temps each morning

So it looks like I might have ovulated about two weeks earlier than usual...still late for a "normal" person, but v early for me. We are continuing to DTD every other day or so since CD 22, so hopefully will catch the sneaky egg...

Also seems v weird now we have actually started SWI - having spent years trying desperately not to get pregnant, doing the opposite is a whole new experience. Probably definitely TMI but I am not really a fan of the wet patch...and also feel (irrationally) like TTC won't work if everything falls out err...disperses Confused afterwards. Sitting with a pillow under my bum for half an hour after DTD is a perfectly normal thing to do, right?!
