Fuzzy won't be long and you'll be ovulating then counting down the tww! X

WhamBamThankYouStan · 07/02/2016 18:56

Nimisha similar age gaps here, 6.5 and nearly 4yo girls already. The small is broody and weirdly desperate for a baby Confused, the big isn't keen on the Idea but I think will come around. I'm looking forward to the concept of them both being in full time school by the time we have a third, so it'll almost like having an only again during the day! Be quite odd I think. But nice.

Nimisha · 07/02/2016 16:51

My cycles have been really irregular but trending towards long. We did the every other day method with my first.

Lyssie · 07/02/2016 16:44

I'll hop on this thread too!!

Ttc: #1
Ttc cycle: 1

I need a group of gals to cheer me on as my married sisters and friends are all trying not to conceive so I'm the odd duck. I've been off BC pills since January 23! DH and I are very excited and using the "every other day" method... All month because why not.

Nimisha · 07/02/2016 16:08

Hi everyone can I join.

Ttc #3
Cycle 0 but hopefully my coil is coming out soon.
Been tracking my temps and ff thinks I ovulated at cycle day 22 so long cycles.

As I'm waiting to start properly ttc I've been eating loads of soft cheese and pate as I will really miss them when I'm pregnant.

My two are 4 and 6 so there will be a bit of an age gap. I'm getting jitters every now and again about going back to the baby stage and whether my two week miss out when there is a new baby about but mostly excited.

I'm going to but opk for next month but the temping was enough this month to pin point when I ovulated.

WhamBamThankYouStan · 07/02/2016 14:03

Yes, Rattie later for me. Looking back at my chart from ttc DD2 I was ovulating somewhere around CD19-20. CD14 will be based on a 28 day cycle as your luteal phase (ov day until period would be due) should be 14 days...hence two week wait. In a longer cycle it's the period until ov bit that's longer. This is why ov sticks and temping is invaluable, as you could easily miss your ov by a week or more.

FuzzyOwl · 07/02/2016 11:58

I hope it is too Kellz!

I also have a long cycle so the first two weeks are almost as slow as the 2ww as I usually ovulate from cd20 onwards. Only on cd11 at the moment, so still at the boring stage!

Mimi, Trying I'm going to be good from Monday. Need to lose a bit more. Lost 3st last year but gained half back after my operation.

Fuzzy im sure it must be our time soon!

Mimi I'm hoping 5th March is a lucky day!!

RattieOfCatan · 07/02/2016 09:39

wham x-posted: With a long cycle do you find Ov happens when the calendars predict? I have OV tests but I have a 35-day cycle. According to all of the ones I found on google some calendars, I should ov around the 14th, but I have no clue when to start doing the tests. I was thinking tomorrow but if I have an early OV then I may have already missed it Confused

RattieOfCatan · 07/02/2016 09:36

shem for me chardonnay is my downfall!
I hope your DP didn't get his friends to read the text in the end!

I'm 26 and DH is 27, so hopefully no issues in the sperm department there Wink

wham This month I'm quite stressed about TTC, but I think I'll relax next month I hope If I conceive this month I'll get SMP, if I don't I'll be stuck on MA instead so I'm really hoping that it happens this month! I'm finding that the forums are making me more impatient so far Grin

WhamBamThankYouStan · 07/02/2016 09:32

Yeah they can really make a big difference. I have a long ish cycle (31-33days) so I have to be quite patient waiting for ov and having the sticks to concentrate on have helped me not lose my mind in the past! Helps me to have something to "do" if you see what I mean. Same with temping. I have to feel proactive or I get antsy.

Yes, #3 for us. Though my girls are 6 and nearly 4 so it almost feels like going back to the beginning! It's quite strange. How old are your two?

Shemozzle · 07/02/2016 09:27

*wish I'd bought a lot earlier not easier.

Shemozzle · 07/02/2016 09:25

trying I'm close in age to you at 29, but my dp is double the age of yours! Turning 44 this year. I don't suppose you have much trouble dtd enough. I always used to go for younger boyfriends so it's funny how I ended up with him.

So he came in at 3:50 am.... And put out! Wahoo! I was worried it would put him off after some reading on here and lots of blokes getting totally put off being told about ovulating and feeling under pressure etc but he actually put on a stellar performance. Wink So now I have to stick
to my end of the bargain, so I'm watching peppa pig with dd2 while he sleeps in.

wham I know what you mean, I said that. But got Ovia etc immediately. Now I just wish I'd bought OV sticks a lot easier, for something so cheap, it really can make or break a month. Particularly if coming of contraception and not knowing where in a cycle you are for ages. I feel like I've wasted 3 months (long wait for first cycle then no idea how long my cycles were) I see you are ttc number 3 too, so possibly you need a more targeted approach like me as dtd every day/other day is difficult with other kids about. So go forth and download all the apps and pee on all the OV sticks.

WhamBamThankYouStan · 07/02/2016 09:08

Signing in for March.

Name: Stan
CD3
TTC #3
Cycle 1 (we took a punt last month but I think the decision to ttc was probably just after ov and AF has now graced us with her presence)
I'll be testing from about 6th March I think.

I find ttc really hard to be relaxed about, so find forums really helpful. I wish I could just throw out the condoms and wait patiently for a late period. But it's never going to happen. So have both Ovia and FF on my phone, ov sticks on order from eBay and, despite my original idea to save temping for next month, I'll dig out my thermometer later on!

Hi!

Tryingtowait · 07/02/2016 08:50

That's really good for me shemozzle my dp is 22 and I'm 27 so hopefully that should improve my chances. Really enjoyed my wine, I don't go out or anything much so just to sit there and unwind a bit is lovely

Mimilicious013 · 07/02/2016 07:40

Hope you got some shem and yo dh wasn't too tired.gl.thanks for the sperm info.now i know why its taking long.dh45 his sperm dying faster haha.
Hope u enjoyed yo wine trying,it kinda eases the ttc madness .'drink til its pink ' is a lovely approach haha.
Thanks fuzzy hope this is it dear.getting frustrating tbh!!
Af finally came so 8th cycle here i come ((cheers)) and hopefully next month we will be planning scans and booking dates.
kellz our bfps due on the 5th so fx

Shemozzle · 07/02/2016 00:39

Ah yes rattie. Similar here. Bad habit of Polish beers pretty much every night for the last few months. I've put on so much weight. Just realised that the particular brand of beer we'd taken to buying has double the calories I thought it would. Explains my sudden weight gain. So no more week night drinking here.

I've just propositioned DP via text. Explained the situation and said if he's up for it at 3am then I'll get up with the smallest and take both kids out for the day tomorrow so he can sleep in as long as he wants. Just hoping he didn't get any of his friends to read the text while he was driving as he often does to me.

RattieOfCatan · 06/02/2016 22:50

shem Not drinking is mostly for TTC purposes, but it's also because I was getting into a habit of having a couple of glasses a night, so it's given me a good excuse to stop that habit and I am worried that I'll take it back up again if I allow myself to drink again!

Never knew that about sperm too, interetsing!

FuzzyOwl · 06/02/2016 22:27

Interesting to know about sperm Shemozzle

Mimi and Kellz I am hopeful it won't be much longer for us.

Hope you are all having a good weekend.

Shemozzle · 06/02/2016 21:28

Speaking of age, I read on a fertility website earlier that how long sperm survive inside us decreases with the fathers age. Younger males it can live for up to a week but older only 1-2 days. This was news to me.

Shemozzle · 06/02/2016 21:21

rattie 'drink until it's pink' is a phrase I like to take on board. I won't stop drinking whilst ttc. Well, apart from the last couple of weeks because I'm desperately trying to loose all the Christmas weight I piled on. But not just for ttc purposes. I had a few light beers last night to ensure we'd be up for dtd.

And trying hmm yeah. It's total swings and roundabouts. Sometimes Often even if I've been in the mood all day, once I get in to bed I'm so relieved he isn't trying it on. So it's been great for the last couple of years post baby. I've been in a relationship where the other pestered and pestered and I really didn't enjoy the sex so it's great how it is sometimes. But there are times, like pregnancy with dd2 where I was insatiably horny for the whole 9 months and it felt like torture. We have a 14 year age gap, hopefully my sex drive will drop a little in the next few years too so we match. Grin It took me a long time to get to terms that he was never going to initiate morning sex either, and I'm often gagging for it in the morning. But that one was easier once dd2 came along and shared our room. She is still in our room and we don't get up until she wakes up, which is another reason that morning sex is out tomorrow.

Anyhow, did another OV test and it's not positive anymore. So I think last night was perfect timing after all, last month I had positive OV's for 3 days then OV cramps when it turned negative. This time just a very brief positive this morning and now negative the same day and I have the cramps already. So I'm happy our one shag last night was at least perfectly timed.

RattieOfCatan · 06/02/2016 19:37

shem Can you give it a go in the morning? It may well be okay still? DH and I have very low sex drives and we're finding this "every few days" routine difficult Blush

Tryingtowait · 06/02/2016 19:27

A once a week kind of guy? If you weren't ttc I would say you're very lucky. Once a week would suit me if we weren't trying

mim I've had my pizza now I've got a bottle of wine when ds goes to bed then that's it for me! Been shopping and bought lots of fruit, veg, Alpen bars and wheetabix! Gonna be good from Monday. It's hard though cause I work nights and have a serious coffee addiction I'm trying to cut out. Nights mess up your body so much

RattieOfCatan · 06/02/2016 18:00

fuzzy Thank you! I can't imagine any other time of day where I could go 4hrs without a wee other than first thing!

DH brought home a bottle of wine yesterday as a treat. I was most displeased, I'm trying to be good but the not having a glass of an evening is really difficult!

Shemozzle · 06/02/2016 17:59

Hi everyone.

Ttc number 3
Cycle 3 or 4?
Cd 14

So positive OPK today. Tonnes of ewcm, cramps. We dtd for the first time this week after midnight. But DP is out playing a gig tonight somewhere far away and won't be home til after 3am. Sad I don't know if I should be hopeful last night was the money shot or I should text him and ask if he can wake me up for a shag when he gets in, but he will be knackered, have done all the long drive back himself, and hasn't been feeling too good today. He doesn't have a particularly high sex drive either, he's a once a week kinda bloke generally. I can't decide what to do.
