It's really great to follow all your posts and not feel like I'm completely on my own going into this! Looking forward to getting my coil out and cracking on with ttc. Bit concerned about level stress I've been under at work having an impact on success, but I'm trying to cut back on my workload now I've got a major deadline out of the way! Here's to BFPs for everyone in March Smile

Kellz92 · 10/02/2016 14:34

Im really looking forward to getting away now. xx

Writerwannabe83 · 10/02/2016 14:33

Thanks mimi - I did an OPK this morning (photo included) and the lines appear darker. I started a new thread in Conception about it and one poster said it was definitely positive!!

We DTD last Friday, the Monday just gone and we will be doing it tonight too Grin

I'm hoping that doing it 5 nights and 2 nights pre-ovulation and then on the night of ovulation will be enough!!

Ive booked to go to Crete in August, im happy to go pregnant, and if i fall this cycle ill be 27 weeks when we go so its not too bad. Also going away in 4 weeks so ill be okay for then too.

xx

RattieOfCatan · 10/02/2016 10:54

Just catching up with the thread! We're not sure what to do about a holiday either, had to admit to a friend that we are trying as he was trying to get us to go camping with him in the summer, given that we were only saying a month ago that we'd love to go with him he knew something was up!

It's ov week for me so we're doing eod as we have been so far, I'm doing a long day today and an overnight on Friday so luckily we're able to time it well enough! We usually DTD once a month so this is fun but tiring!

Writerwannabe83 · 09/02/2016 22:44

Thanks giraffe

I did another one earlier and at ten minutes it looked like this.

At brand are you using? I use One Step (Internet cheapies) and they have to be read at five minutes.

You're right - the test line has to be "darker than a priest's socks" to be valid. Personally I find mine go gradually darker over a couple of days before the positive result. Ov happens the day after.

HTH

Writerwannabe83 · 09/02/2016 20:57

Does anyone here use OPK's and can perhaps give me some advice?

I had my Mirena out 14 days ago and had what I presume to be a withdrawal bleed which lasted about 3-4 days (so finished 10 days ago).

Over the last few days I have been using OPKs (even though I don't fully understand them) and for the previous two days there has been absolutely nothing to see. I used one this afternoon and again, nothing really showed up within 60 seconds or so and so I just left it to one side. However, when I looked a good few hours there was a very definite second line, not as dark as the control line but definitely getting there.

However, do they work like HPTs in that the result is only valid when read within a few minutes? I only have IC sticks and no instructions came with them.

I know that in order for it to be a definite positive the two lines have to be the same strength of colour but how long does it take to typically reach that stage once a second line initially starts to appear?

I have coffee if that helps tiny trying to cut caffeine down and gone all night (working) until now without coffee but nearly dropped off so thought I better have one for my clients sakes! 1 is ok.. Some of us seem similar dates if you guys have regularish length cycles. I'm cd 6 today. It's gonna be a long month

TinyPawz · 09/02/2016 03:12

Energy drinks and glucose sweeties needed urgently in chezTinyPawz

GiraffesCantDoMentalArithmetic · 08/02/2016 22:57

GinandJazzHands · 08/02/2016 22:36

CD4 here. Having a glass of port this evening happy to see the departure of the witch. Also sat at the back waving pom-poms to cheer on the ovulaters.

Kellz92 · 08/02/2016 22:12

That was like me with the implant before and after DD

Welcome to my most used saying... My DH is called David lol!!

Giraffe I'm on my way back!!

Xx

GiraffesCantDoMentalArithmetic · 08/02/2016 21:08

Not only do I have Wine, I also have pate, stinky cheese and .... erm .... more than the recommended amount of tuna Confused Come and join me on the back seat for the first 2ww of the month! We can lob energy sweets and sports bottle drinks to the people in the middle of the bus busy DTD (like they do in the marathon).

Too many mixed metaphors there. It's left me with quite the mental image. Shock I blame the Wine. Better switch to spirits...

Nimisha · 08/02/2016 20:52

Shemozzle actually I have a mirena coil. It's been in for four and a half years but I think the hormones are wearing off a bit as I want really having much AF but it's come back recently but really irregular. I was interested to know if I was ovulating but definitely had a temp rise at CD 22.

I'm a once a week girl for dtd. I'm just so exhausted in the evenings.

FuckOffDavid · 08/02/2016 20:06

Hi can i join?

My stats are
TTC #2
First cycle after implant removal, periods were normal throughout and just finished first period without implant.
CD 7

Concieved DD by accident after contraception failure so hoping this one will be quick.

Writerwannabe83 · 08/02/2016 19:26

kellz - I was really lucky with my first Coil as I still had really regular periods when it was in, which made it easier to keep track of things when it came out for TTC purposes.

This is my second Coil and since it went I pretty much bled non-stop for 8 months, then the bleeding started dwindling for a few weeks and then it stopped altogether.

Two completely different experiences (I think it's because I'm still BF'ing DS1) and this 2nd time experience has made everything confusing and so much harder.

Kellz92 · 08/02/2016 19:20

Hi writer I was like that after I stopped the pill a bit. Just keep tracking your cycles and hopefully they will regulate.

I'll sit at the back of the bus if there's wine haha xx

GinandJazzHands · 08/02/2016 19:17

Hey first good to hear from you! I wonder if it's OV? I had a few annoying 'nearly theres' on my opk sticks too - was making notes in FF and Ovia - and in hindsight when I got AF I realised from temps and notes that I'd prob OV'd on a nearly there day, CD 27. Massive fx for your BFP - long cycles are so frustrating.
Hey giraffe sorry to see you

Writerwannabe83 · 08/02/2016 19:13

Hello all, just catching up.

My Coil came out almost two weeks ago, I bled for about 5 days afterwards and now I have no idea what's going on. I think my bleed was the typical withdrawal bleed as opposed to a normal AF so I'm completely clueless as to what my cycle will be up to.

For the last 3 days I've been using OPK's just to see if anything is happening but there's never even been a hint of a line Hmm
