baby I used to be into all kinds of alternative health things, until one of my girls got really ill and I became skeptical and lost the faith...thankfully! But I'm still angry with all the money we were duped out of alternative health practitioners who make their business by telling everyone how big pharma is only after a profit. In my experience they are worse. One week we barely had enough money for food because I'd spent every penny on homeopathy for my daughter. This homeopath had a huge cottage in a lovely town we dream of living in, happily letting me clear out my bank account desperately trying to get my daughter well. I'd had enough then. Don't let them do the same to you. You can do something that relaxes you for a lot less.
How dare they try to exort that money out of you in the name of your fertility.

Anyway, think I'm 10 dpo today. BFN on a FRER and cheapy Sad. I think my 'implantation' cramps was actually a tummy bug too.

MrsNuckyT · 16/02/2016 12:56

Hello ladies - don't think I've put my stats on this bus yet, but just getting ready to do so! AF due basically today and not holding out much hope - was away for a few days and probably missed the best window. Also - for the first time in 5 months I didn't get a 'peak' reading at all. I actually think it might just have been short - I was sure that I saw a feint second line on one of my 'high' days. Only managed to DTD twice. So it seems very unlikely!!

Mimilicious013 · 16/02/2016 11:02

Hello ladies,as the journey continues hope u are all well and fx fx!

writer a few more days and u can start poas hun.best of luck!

cocker kellz gin giraffe baby fuzzy {waves}
Hoping March brings us good news.
Haven't been lucky so for with dtd so am planning to pin dh down from today cd11 -15

Writerwannabe83 · 16/02/2016 07:57

My DH would love sex every 2-3 days but the problem is that unless it's within my fertile window I seriously lack the motivation to do it Grin

6dpo today and symptom spotting continues!! I was having very weird stretching and tightening sensations in my lower abdomen last night when I was lying in bed so I'm clearly pregnant Grin

With my DS I was testing from 7dpo but I'm going to try and resist going down that path again this time....

cockermum85 · 16/02/2016 06:55

Giraffe my dh did the same yesterday! He was working with a guy who is new to his company and he was sharing all! I wasn't happy, I don't really know why. He starting telling me that this colleague reckons we should DTD every 2-3 days. Now it may well be good advice but I didn't really like that he was talking about me t to someone else... But I suppose it's the same for him as it is for me. He's excited and frustrated with the tww so I guess he felt he needed to talk to someone removed from the situation .

GiraffesCantDoMentalArithmetic · 15/02/2016 23:51

baby I hate the first 14 days of the cycle more than the 2WW. I tend to of around cd 17-19, so the first part seems boring, pointless and definitely not pregnant.

cocker I did the same thing. I told someone at work not particularly close. Not sure why!

DH is away this week. He'll be back well before the important part of the month though. One of his (female) colleagues asked him if he was going to miss the fertile window Shock I was a bit put out that he'd be discussing my internal workings with his colleagues, to be honest.

GinandJazzHands · 15/02/2016 22:08

Oh writer it's such an emotional rollercoaster isn't it? Thinking of you - cocker is right - here's to your BFP soon.
cocker I'm in the same boat; excited about the future and scared about flipping our lives upside down, hoping we are strong enough to make it through with a relationship of our own at the other side, wondering how much we will change, all the things that could go wrong. But that's life I guess isn't it? I know we want this, so when I start to worry I'm trying to make myself focus on all the potential positives (sometimes easier said than done)!

cockermum85 · 15/02/2016 21:52

Oh no... I know this won't help but try not to feel like that. It's as likely either way. try to hang in there and you know where we are if you need us!

This weekend I spent the weekend panicking that I might be (it's my first and I'm terrified) but today I've been excited and convinced I've got mild cramping (even though I've had this before)

Writerwannabe83 · 15/02/2016 21:35

I have told one colleague but that's it. Various relatives and friends know me and DH are considering having a 2nd baby but they don't know it's something that is going ahead.

I'm feeling quite negative today about this cycle, I've gone from being excited about possibly being pregnant to now feeling despondent that I won't be....

cockermum85 · 15/02/2016 20:25

I have only told one friend, who strangely I'm not the closest to... I work with her and we socialise a little but she is by no means my closest - I think that makes it easier.

When I came off the pill last year my cycle was really screwed up and I'd convinced myself that there was something wrong with me - so I spoke to my closest friend about it. She was great at first, then the next day she text me telling me she would be my surrogate if I ever wanted it. I was furious. We hadn't even tried to conceive! And she knew that. I only asked her experience with coming off the pill.

It's nice to be able to come on here and ask random questions and look for advice knowing there will be no judgement!

Kellz92 · 15/02/2016 19:29

We haven't told anyone that we are TTC either. Just don't want the whole "are you not pregnant yet" so many people I know with children same age as DD are either due their second soon or had their second already. :( xx

Tryingtowait · 15/02/2016 16:58

I think it's easier to talk on the internet sometimes with the anonymity. Ttc is a very personal thing especially if it doesn't happen right away. At least we can all keep each other sane

GinandJazzHands · 15/02/2016 15:39

Hi baby good to see you again and so sorry you are having a tough time. We haven't told anyone else we are trying either and I definitely get the pressure thing - people can really add to it with absolutely no idea they are doing it. You're well within your rights to get glum about it from time to time, and don't feel guilty for getting upset - I think sometimes it's better to get it off your chest. You've got your first child as living proof you've managed it once already so there's no reason you can't do it a second time. And it's no one else's business; totally empathise with the wishing people would stop asking thing! Sending you a virtual hug. Just had a cup of tea and a slice of lemon drizzle cake

babyinthacorner · 15/02/2016 14:21

It's rubbish isn't it, trying. That must be so hard. I've also got a colleague whose DD is 3 months younger than mine and she's due her 2nd in May. I'm really close to my sister as well, I just don't want to share with anyone that we're TTC. Except a group of anonymous strangers on MN, ha ha!

What makes it worse is that I know it would make my family so happy if we had another one - they joy my first has brought has been incredible and I know they'd all be thrilled. My mum and stepdad have also been on at us to have another as it keeps them young, apparently! Just makes me feel more of a failure every month.

I know I need to be kinder to myself and stop this negative thinking. It's ridiculous, isn't it?!

Tryingtowait · 15/02/2016 10:24

Hi baby I feel kinda similar to you with the work thing when I got pregnant almost 4 years ago with my son I was the second of about 6 of us at work who all were pregnant together. Also my sister was pregnant at the time too. I ended up having my son at 31 weeks and he spent 5 weeks in nicu then ended up in and out of hospital for the first year of his life for perm related illnesses. In that time the other 5 have had another baby and my sister is due next week. I work with old people too so I get staff and residents saying I bet your son would love a brother or sister. I just say 'if it happens it happens'. Not letting people know we're trying. I have pcos too so that makes it more difficult. I didn't know it would be this hard to conceive number 2 :(

I wish people would butt out! Sorry that's my little rant of the day!

Kellz92 · 14/02/2016 23:32

Hi cockermum

Gin you're bfp will hopefully be soon!!

Baby hi:) sorry AF got you! I got offered to change my name but couldn't think of anything lol. Baby dust to you xx

babyinthacorner · 14/02/2016 21:55

Waving at gin, Kellz, she and anyone else I've missed from December/Jan/Feb buses...

babyinthacorner · 14/02/2016 21:53

Hi can I jump on? Have been on a few other buses but namechanged - MN offered me the chance to so I took it (nenehooo before - that name came about through desperation hence why it's rubbish!)

So this is me:

TTC #2
Cycle 5
Age 35

At the moment I'm feeling pretty down. Am having acupuncture and chinese herbs - have already spent £700 and last session they told me I need more pills to strengthen my womb and kidneys. I absolutely cannot afford it and it now feels like they just want to get as much money out of me as they can and I therefore trust them less.

Also getting lots of 'just have another baby' comments from people - work colleagues and even worse, my family. I just want to scream "I'M FUCKING TRYING" at them. And then cry and cry and cry so they can see just how fucking hard it is.

I'm trying every thing I can. Been trying to do SMEP and last cycle used preseed. Have managed to DTD just before and after ov every month and it's just not happening.

Aside from giving up decaf coffee (already gave up caffeine before Christmas), abstaining from booze completely (cut right down since Jan) and giving up work (major source of stress) I don't know what else I can do?!

And then I realise I'm being ridiculous and selfish and I know some of you on here have had a much harder time and longer struggle and I feel like a dick and need someone to give me a slap.

Sorry for the rant. AF nearly over, so maybe positive head will be back on soon... Anyone got any tips for staying positive in the meantime?! I am misery personified!

GinandJazzHands · 14/02/2016 20:03

Also, had a visit from the MIL this weekend. She left this morning. Has no idea we are TTC but dropped a few unsubtle hints about wanting to be a grandmother, then on the way out of the door actually said half jokingly 'happy valentines, enjoy your evening and make some babies!'. If only she knew. Blush

GinandJazzHands · 14/02/2016 19:59

Hi all, just checking in. CD10 here and unlikely to OV for a while as OV on CD27 last month. Enjoying the symptom spotting ladies. Stay strong and looking forward to when the POASing begins! Had a lazy TTC-free 10 days but not brave enough to leave it any longer so starting the EOD method from this evening. DH kicking things off by cooking valentines dinner. Happy baby making all!

Writerwannabe83 · 14/02/2016 18:43

I only got excited when I read that you can get symptoms as soon as fertilisation occurs due to the hormones involved.

I always thought you couldn't get symptoms until the egg has implanted into the womb (6-9dpo usually) but that isn't the case apparently Grin

cockermum85 · 14/02/2016 18:36

Hahahah! I was at a friends last night who knows we are TTC and she's got me all excited about it, I think I was doing ok. I've not googled symptoms... But I'm going to now! Hahahah!

Writerwannabe83 · 14/02/2016 18:33

Hello cockermum

I'm 4dpo on my first cycle too!

I have no patience whatsoever and will be breaking out the cheapy HPT's this Friday at a mere 9dpo.

Who am I kidding??!! I will be testing from 7dpo Grin

If you're looking for someone to keep you sane then stay away from me Grin

I've already got a whole host of symptoms that mean I'm clearly pregnant Grin

cockermum85 · 14/02/2016 18:26

Hello everyone. Do you mind if I join in? I'm 3dpo on my first month TTC so thought it would be nice to hear from people in a similar situation... Any advice for learning patience? I've never been good at that.
xx

Kellz92 · 14/02/2016 10:05

Shemozzle that's what I did she picked a toy I'll give her it on Tuesday. Normally I don't but they will be stingy. It's the hep a and typhoid. Ach ignore the nurse, your child you can do what you want lol. I think I'll cry more than her anyway and I'm not getting the injections lol.

Writer I'm so bad for that! I google symptoms and I'm like I'm either pregnant or terminally ill lol.

Xx
