Symptom spotters, tww - ers, slightly hysterical hormone laden ladies! Regs, lurkers, intermittent posters! Our raison d'etre is 'am I pregnant?' Depending on how much Ovia (Whybird) has pissed us off/messed with our fw she is either the oracle or a sanctimonious charlatan.

Just a warning, we move FAST! Our threads last on average, about a week before they're full.

Thread 8 , Welcome one and all! Group of weirdos, wee hoarders, covert opk or okp, depending on what your autocorrect decides addicts with a side business in CM management!

We do not judge, we enjoy TMI, we i encourage waiting to poas nobody listens and all the grossness you can find from a group of intelligent, articulate ladies. Fart stories make us laugh, stories about cervical mucus, pooing, cysts and nausea equally welcome. Although normal conversation is also encouraged.

Post your stats and add your dates. We have a register thanks to kat a resident piss stick queen runner loaaaaaads of bfp'ers who keep us positive! We don't have rules, we love a good symptom spot, we try to stay grounded and not be hysterical sometimes we manage it aswell

We like acronyms, we make some up: PET = Proper expensive test. We love the d(h)...which can of course mean 'dearest' or 'dickhead' why, what were you thinking?

I just got my first ever positive OPK!!!! So happy I did a little dance Grin and snaps to me for being ready for my man in full-blown sex kitten mode last night Wink ie, I had changed out of my sweaty sports bra and brushed my hair.

Planeteer · 27/01/2016 16:31

That hashtag should be the motto for this thread Latin. Love it!

Mileymoocow · 27/01/2016 16:30

I'm actually dying impy clits 😂😂😂

I did have a post thought out but hat trew me right off.

I REALLY hope you're all right ladies

latinata · 27/01/2016 16:27

#clitsnotclots

FXSkip · 27/01/2016 16:26

Looks like nappies is a whole new world to look forward to

Feefeefs thats brilliant (the jamjar) my mum once had to take a pee sample home and keep it in the fridge over the weekend as the (rural) doctor didn't have a fridge. Lucky she doesn't have a DH who eats fatballs

These stories are making me so sad. I have friends/family who have lost young children (3months, cot death and age 14, meningitis) and the devastation is indescribable. I cant imagine for a stillbirth.

Latinata thank you for lightening the thread - I would love to have seen the phone operators face!!!

IndiX · 27/01/2016 16:24

Sorry posted twice for some reason!

IndiX · 27/01/2016 16:24

Hi ladies, sorry I haven't had a chance to catch up as been away for a couple of nights. Could anyone pleaseeee summarise for me?
Right, weird question..what do sore boobs feel like?? I never have sore boobs even around AF etc but the last few days they are really sore underneath and my nips are very sensitive! I don't know if they should ache all over but they kind of feel bruised to touch, my left one more than my right one. Also must say I have implants, so bit worried about that tbh even though I've had them for nearly 5 years. Just wondering how your boobs feel when they are sore?

ImpYCelyn · 27/01/2016 16:22

indi feeling bruised sounds right to me!! Fx!!!

ImpYCelyn · 27/01/2016 16:21

clots clots not clits!!! Terrible autocorrect. Clearly there are still clits in pregnancy (ahem) Blush

ImpYCelyn · 27/01/2016 16:20

Your poor travel agent latin Grin sorry to hear about your sister's baby ThanksThanksThanks I can't imagine how painful that was.

Miley you are surely upduffed?!

I've still got no AF here fgs Hmm I've now been spotting since last Sunday, so a full 11 days! With one day off in the middle. I did a cheapy I have no will power it's still a bfn. There's some small clotty bits and one thing o read says pregnancy bleeding doesn't have clits, so it must be AF pissing about!!

Oh Starky so sorry you had to see that. And for those poor people. I d only been to one child's funeral and I pray I never go to another! A colleague lost a baby at birth, as is a friend of a friend recently. Until then I assumed it was incredibly rare, but sadly not rare enough Sad On a happy note a really good friend with preggo brain went into hospital on the wrong day for a check up, she should have been in two days later. The midwife took pity on her and said as she was there they'd do her check up. Her DD was literally dying in the womb so they raced her down for emergency C section and she now has a gorgeous 18 month old. If she'd gone to her proper appointment it would have been too late. I like to think this is a sign that preggo brain happens for a reason, and to be less upset when I find the hairdryer in the fridge.

Ever glad it was useful!

skip I just laughed out loud at that image Grin

feef you get a little wet bag (monkey foot ones are efficient and funky), you store clean nappy in it, and when they need a change you throw wet one in there. When you do the laundry you open wet bag, flip it inside out (without touching the inside) and wash bag with nappy. If you need more than one nappy you just keep them in changing bag and put dirties in wet bag. If you get a cheeky wipes kit (that's the make), it comes with a diddy bag for taking clean wet cloth wipes out ( it doesn't leak) and once used they go in the wet bag with the nappy. I recommend a mesh for your nappy bucket, then you just lift that out and into the machine in one piece and never have to touch the dirty ones. This time I'm just going to buy two extra large monkey foot bags (one in use, one in wash) and dispense with bucket entirely, they can hang on the back of the bathroom door. Same trick as for the little ones when washing :)

Re wraps, you don't need as many as you do nappies. Unless they have poop on you just wipe them down with a wipe and alternate while they dry ( or even put back on slightly damp). In the wash after 3 uses or so.

latinata · 27/01/2016 16:09

I have just had a hilarious (and fruitless) conversation with my travel insurance people. Along the lines of: "I need to test to see if I get a BFP before deciding whether to go on holiday to Mexico on 6th Feb re: Zika virus. But not sure when I ovulated, so not sure exactly when I can test. And given the range of successful tests can be anything from 8dpo to 19daypo, how will I even be certain unless AF arrives?"

Haha, hope that call was recorded for training and monitoring purposes!!

latinata · 27/01/2016 16:07

Planet- good shout. Hope you get an appointment sooner than that :-(

Starky- my sister lost a baby at full term a few years ago, and the funeral was literally the worst day of our whole family's life. I'm sure that having such a compassionate and caring person there with them meant the world to them. So well done you. And honouring the baby who they lost by living life to the full is the only thing to do. Big hugs! xxx

Planeteer · 27/01/2016 16:00

Oops, double postage, sorry!

Planeteer · 27/01/2016 16:00

Haha fx that is brilliant!! Because smears aren't awkward enough, frankly!

Miley I have a good feeling about Friday's test for you.

Congrats Bellini, lovely clear lines. Hurrah! Thanks

I've just bitten the bullet and made a Drs appt. earliest they could see me is the 8th..glad I don't have a limb hanging off! Thought probably worth checking that these interminable cycles aren't indicative of anything weird and see if there's anything that can be done to bring them up to more than once every three months. I want more bfp chances, dammit! Sad

harrietm87 · 27/01/2016 15:58

miley I'm sure you're gonna get a bfp!!!

My cm has completely gone since I ovulated. It's prob a good sign that you have loads??

Mileymoocow · 27/01/2016 15:43

planet the 8th?! That is ridiculous! FX they can do something. Thanks for the vote of confidence but I don't feel anything different to all my usual af pains and complaints. You know when you think you just know? I have similar af pains cthul and kat I'm convinced she's going to be there soon but it's still either 3/4/6 days before af depending on who you ask.

Anyway, I've had a baby bomb dropped today by my cousin! So there are 3 of us all cousins, one is due in the next week and the other has just announced she's 14 weeks gone! We're all very similar age I'm the only one not married. Boo so it would be weird but amazing if I fell pregnant soon, too. The age gaps would be almost identical!

Feefeefs · 27/01/2016 15:41

Also is ever on here? Hope you got on okay at the doctors

firstgo1984 · 27/01/2016 15:39

planeteer well done. i have a phone appointment on 3rd Feb (which i made over a week ago). hoping they will give the go ahead for some d2-5 bloods when i eventually have AF so that i can do the same and just check it's normal post-pill lazy pituitary and not pcos.

very tempted to go private and see a gynaecologist (though would be a colleague which is always tricky) and get some clomiphene to get ovulation going again. might investigate costs.

SuchaJem · 27/01/2016 15:36

Thanks Stark and Kat, I'm not 100% gone, it's just difficult to keep up with it all. I'm sure I'll still notice if you shout at me Wink

BTW, we have a shiny new grads thread now at

Kathrino · 27/01/2016 15:31

Miley, glad to hear you're still in it to win it!

Cthulhoo, I know exactly what you mean. I keep telling myself over and over again that it's just AF arriving early so I don't get my hopes up. Have zero other symptoms and I'm sure our timing was all wrong this month so trying to keep grounded & realistic.

Cthulhoo · 27/01/2016 15:25

Kathrino, fingers crossed for you! I seem to have a split personality for the time being. I convinced one half of my brain that it really did happen this time; while not necessarily indicative, the symptoms are at least consistent with implantation having taken place, and I can believe that it was possible I was successful this time. The other half of my brain, however, shakes her head sadly because she knows I've fooled myself in the past and she already anticipates the crushing despair and deep disappointment when AF will eventually arrive.
