Symptom spotters, tww - ers, slightly hysterical hormone laden ladies! Regs, lurkers, intermittent posters! Our raison d'etre is 'am I pregnant?' Depending on how much Ovia (Whybird) has pissed us off/messed with our fw she is either the oracle or a sanctimonious charlatan.

Just a warning, we move FAST! Our threads last on average, about a week before they're full.

Thread 8 , Welcome one and all! Group of weirdos, wee hoarders, covert opk or okp, depending on what your autocorrect decides addicts with a side business in CM management!

We do not judge, we enjoy TMI, we i encourage waiting to poas nobody listens and all the grossness you can find from a group of intelligent, articulate ladies. Fart stories make us laugh, stories about cervical mucus, pooing, cysts and nausea equally welcome. Although normal conversation is also encouraged.

Post your stats and add your dates. We have a register thanks to kat a resident piss stick queen runner loaaaaaads of bfp'ers who keep us positive! We don't have rules, we love a good symptom spot, we try to stay grounded and not be hysterical sometimes we manage it aswell

We like acronyms, we make some up: PET = Proper expensive test. We love the d(h)...which can of course mean 'dearest' or 'dickhead' why, what were you thinking?

Impy it's really hard to plan when you're trying to concieve and you just don't know how long it is going to take. I've decided I'm not making any decisions based on Ttc, and that I'll adjust any plans if and when a bfp happens. I don't know if that's helpful but that's how I'm working on it.

Cthulhoo, sending hugs your way. I know it sucks, but there is a lot that they can do with modern medicine, chances are it's going to work out just fine :)

Pugmummy87 · 28/01/2016 13:32

Oh Cthulhoo sorry for your shitty news. Another month of waiting before you know if they will refer you or not sucks. I second what others have said though, a fertility specialist will have a much better idea of what treatment you may need/if any than a GP.

Speaking of GP's, I'm going to have to make an appointment to see them again about my cervical ectropion. I had it freezed in July to hopefully stop the bleeding I get after dtd (we aren't talking spotting here, like proper af style bleeding) and it initially seemed to have done the trick, just a tiny amount of spotting after. Over the past couple of months though it's been getting heavier again and I'm currently having to wear a fucking sanitary towel because it's back to how it was before after dtd Tuesday night. Was hoping to dtd tonight, but its hardly conducive to getting either of us in the mood and for being able to regularly do it to have a baby!

I hate my body.

ImpYCelyn · 28/01/2016 13:30

Oh god. I've been complaining about my job for ages, and a great job is being advertised close to home. But as its teaching the job starts in September, and I'm now looking at hoping for a November baby. I really don't know what to do.

Our plan was for me to be upduffed roughly so that I would work max half a term next academic year (Nov is perfect). Then off until May half term, at which point i would hand in notice as would dh, we'd work the rest of the year (one half term for me), and then move to France. So in August 2017 we'd be living there. And I know that means I don't have to stick at my job much longer. But now part of my is thinking, yes, but I could take this job and we could stay...

But staying means living in a flat with no garden, instead of a big house in the country, and my family and friends are all here... But I'm making my asthmatic child live in London when I know he gets so much better in France every time we go. And we'd have to put off ttc for a year.... And the job looks great, but I might still hate it...

I hate being a grown up and having to make actual life decisions.

LisaTheGreek · 28/01/2016 13:24

God, that's a bit of a wait, isn't it (though I can see it makes sense to check next cycle).

Hopefully it's just a one-off, and if it isn't, then at least the specialist is the best person to speak to about the next steps.

Hope you're ok!

KatOnATinRo0f · 28/01/2016 13:23

Such im at work now I will have to do the list this evening... If I can finally catch up!
Congrats irregular!!! Bel and miley! Shall move u to grads bus pronto**
**
If someone could summarise if there anyone who needs to join us on the feb bus in case I don't get thru all the messages, that would be grand!

Xx

Cthulhoo · 28/01/2016 12:47

I checked and they did already have the most recent blood test results. :(

It appears that my hormone levels were 9.8 on CD16 and 16.2 on CD22 - they would have liked to see levels of 30+ on CD22. No referrals until a second test at the same cycle day confirms low levels so I will have to go in again for a blood test at the next CD21. If the low hormone levels are confirmed, they'll then refer me to a fertility specialist.

Planeteer · 28/01/2016 12:42

Just catching up. Cthulhoo sending you hugs and positivity, what a shitter! Definitely hang tight until you've chatted to the specialist, like others have said they will be able to give you a fuller picture and hopefully a range of options. ThanksThanks

LisaTheGreek · 28/01/2016 12:35

I'm so sorry Cthulhoo, that's such shitty news. Fingers crossed clomid does the trick (and still not ruling out it happening naturally). What a dampener to your day, I'm so sorry. Thanks

ElleSarcasmo · 28/01/2016 12:33

Sorry about AF Impy and Pyxie. Sucks doesn't it? Though it made me feel marginally better for eating a ton of biscuits earlier in the week...trying to get back into healthy mode now.

There is just something about a spotty, bloating, farting, cramping, moody woman that is obsessed with prodding her own cervix and pisses on any stick she can find that just screams sex appeal.
😭😭😭 lol Skip!!!

ElleSarcasmo · 28/01/2016 12:30

So sorry to hear that Ctulhoo. Hugs for you Flowers. Hope someone is there to give you a real life hug.

We also know a couple, TTC for ages, told no way they would conceive naturally, ended up having lovely twins by ivf. Then 3 years later a surprise baby. Also know a couple who were told similar to you and conceived first time with clomid, fx the blood tests are wrong anyway (timing sounds sensitive) x

Feefeefs · 28/01/2016 12:30

Ooh cthulhoo so sorry that rough stuff, I hope something gets sorted for you

FXSkip · 28/01/2016 11:59

Lara that article is interesting. I am tempted to write an article about the real reason that men find ovulating women so damn sexy. Its the same reason they say pregnant women are 'glowing'. There is just something about a spotty, bloating, farting, cramping, moody woman that is obsessed with prodding her own cervix and pisses on any stick she can find that just screams sex appeal. I totally get it. I'm pretty sure all of our significant others will testify that being told to get their pants off - 'I don't care if you still have your socks on - just get it done before I stop ovulating' - is a major turn on.

Co5mo · 28/01/2016 11:56

Oh Cthulhoo, I'm so sorry to hear that. Wait for the specialist. As much as the GP knows her stuff, she isn't a specialist. Fx you don't have to wait too long to see them. I would keep on TTC in the mean time.

FXSkip · 28/01/2016 11:53

Cthulhoo I'm sorry to hear your news, I know 2 ladies who conceived after being told their only option would be IVF. Neither wanted to go through the trauma, so they both gave up trying, then both conceived naturally later that year. The doctors said it's not uncommon. Not helpful, I know, but know that we are all here for you

Mileymoocow · 28/01/2016 11:42

cthulhoo that's so shitty. I'm really sorry to hear Flowers definitely get them to clarify which tests they're referring to

StarkyTheDirewolf · 28/01/2016 11:32

Cthulhoo I'm so sorry about your disappointing news. Flowers Cake Brew

ImpYCelyn · 28/01/2016 11:32

Oh god Cthulhoo what a kick in the balls! Hugs for you ThanksThanks Clomid might be all you need though. Remember that a specialist will have a much better idea, and I think you should keep trying anyway until you see one. I genuinely know 5 or 6 couple who were told ivf would be their only chance and when it failed they got pregnant naturally. It can happen. It must be so hard but try to stay positive. It doesn't mean you're out yet ThanksThanks

Kathrino · 28/01/2016 11:32

Oh Cthulhoo, I'm so sorry that it wasn't better news for you today. I can't even begin to imagine what you're feeling right now Flowers

Cthulhoo · 28/01/2016 11:26

:-( Doctor called back about my blood test and apparently I'm anovulatory. This comes as a surprise to me since the ovulation test kits reliably indicated fertile and peak days but apparently my hormone levels are too low.

I'm desperately hoping they got the dates wrong and haven't considered the most recent blood test but that's probably me clutching at straws. Maybe they're still talking about the blood tests I took a week ago which would have been just three days after ovulation.

From what she said it looks like I'll need Clomid but for that I have to be referred because primary care providers don't prescribe Clomid anymore, I'll have to see a consultant for that. And the doctor mentioned fertility treatment for which the cut-off on the NHS was 40, which to me indicates that she was thinking of IVF. The doctors will meet later today and discuss my case and then she'll call back and tell me their decision.

Pretty crushed and despondent right now. :(

latinata · 28/01/2016 11:16

Lara, that article is hilarious. Do we think that Mona Lisa was using OPKs to work out when she should be painted?!

latinata · 28/01/2016 11:14

Such great BFP news for the #clitsnotclots gang! Well done everyone!

I think I am now 5dpo and think AF due on 2nd Feb, so will POAS from 3rd onwards if no AF, which will be 11dpo. Unless starky tells me otherwise! Lolz.

Have a lovely day, one and all! After the whole clits thing yesterday I have taken the decision not to log in at work any more (I'm three hours behind you all) as I can't control my potty mouth and the idea of getting an IT audit is too hideous to contemplate, but will be silently observing all day!!

LaraG13 · 28/01/2016 11:12

Hahaha miley 😂

Chocaholic88 · 28/01/2016 10:59

fx If you're on about the fb photo I posted I hope to god it's a joke! 😂 someone I know shared it saying 'good lord kill me now' hahaha

holly I went straight onto their pregnancy vitamins as got that faint bfp 27th Dec... if I've caught in the last few weeks then taking them certainly did me no harm! I've only heard great things about the seven seas trying to conceive and pregnancy vitamins so fingers crossed for you xx

cosmo ... I dreamed I had a scan (last week I think) ... and everyone did a victory dance (some of you will remember me posting about it?) And this week finally got the bfp!

Mileymoocow · 28/01/2016 10:56

I got as far as the title lara and laughed.
Images of someone ovulating in my face

LaraG13 · 28/01/2016 10:54

Found this really interesting so thought I'd share: rsbl.royalsocietypublishing.org/content/12/1/20150638
