Anyone else starting their 2ww?

Hi all

I think I am 2dpo and think AF is due 4th Feb so 13 days until I will be testing, if AF doesn't arrive.

I know it's not really possible to have symptoms this early but I have had frequent urination, excessive saliva and a slight metallic taste in my mouth today. I think it must be all in my head, because I don't remember having these symptoms the last time I had a BFP (which ended in an early m/c).

Is anyone else just starting a 2ww?

Hi radders, sorry you're feeling crappy but good news on ovulating and fx for your bfp this month!

raddersmrs · 10/03/2016 21:25

Can I join please??
In my first ever two week wait...just started too so a long time to go yet. AF due 29th March.

Had horrendous ovulation pains yesterday and opk was dark line so hoping ovulated today. No pains today. Not really seen any EWCM though so unsure. I only came off the pill beginning of February but first cycle started on time at the end of the month.

Theaks · 10/03/2016 19:11

It's fine Anne, and I'm sorry for yours. It's horrible regardless of planned pregnancy or not.

iwillbemrsminty · 10/03/2016 16:30

Afternoon all! Haven't been on here in a while peeps, how is everyone doing? I am in the 2ww, AF not due until next Friday and last 2 days have had brown and a tiny bit of pink spotting. We DTD before and throughout my fertile window (according to ovia bitch). Have never had spotting before, don't know what to think!

Anne i think i am in the same place as you!

AnneLovesGilbert · 10/03/2016 16:30

Thank you Friendly. Sorry you're disappointed. Nice to have fun things to look forward to, trips away, and lots of practising!

Theaks - I was being daft, so sorry, of course people know you're etc and I'm so sorry for your losses. I had an early mc a few years ago, unplanned pg, when I was with my XH and that was hard enough.

This is my longest day without coffee probably ever, very weird. Wonder when I'll start getting withdrawal symptoms.

FriendlyGhost · 10/03/2016 13:34

Welcome Anne!
Lily your baby bomb friend is deluded Grin
AF finally arrived today so I've been feeling really crap and disappointed. I know it was a long shot for me but I was so late that I had convinced myself something was up. I really want to start trying properly now so will be working on persuading DH. I might start trying in April though because I already have a December baby and the thought of another one around Christmas is too much. Plus I'm going away for Easter so will probably miss the fertile period!
Really hope you all get your bfps soon. I'm going to keep checking in on you even if I'm not going to be playing the waiting game for another few weeks.

Theaks · 10/03/2016 12:31

Anne- No with my friend it's just not worth it. She doesn't realise and I will upset her if I mention, and I don't want to upset her. She is just so happy to be a mummy- and I don't blame her.
I think family and close friends just assume we are ttc after the 2 losses. But no one knew when we started out ttc, although we didn't have time to tell people as we dropped on after 2 months and it was a shock even fit us.

AnneLovesGilbert · 10/03/2016 12:01

I'm definitely going to try Lily! I have a feeling if DP wasn't so overboard (it's lovely, I'm not ungrateful but oh the pressure!) I'd be itching to test asap. As he is I've gone into sensible mode managing expectations!

We usually DTD most days and missed one when Ovia said was I was fertile. I don't want to get to the point where thinking about it makes it a chore, but I can see how easily that can happen and we're at such an early stage.

Theaks that's so difficult. Have you ever told your friend how she's not helping by being a fricking pain?

Have you all told friends you're TTC? I haven't told anyone so a forum's worth it's weight in gold!

Theaks · 10/03/2016 11:58

Yes let's hope we have some bfp this month! Keeping everything crossed. No we have done a bit of dtd so far. Like you I dont want it to be for 'baby making' it takes the fun out! Dtd cd 10,11,13 so far!

Try to hold out from testing a bit longer Anne! We are all guilty of allowed no symptoms spotting to take over. But you have a few good ones there. Fingers crossed for you.

Lily35 · 10/03/2016 11:32

Theaks - you are exact same as me this cycle. Good luck to us both! Have you been DTD this month? Or waiting until u got a positive?
I was told every other day until ovulation then everyday until couple of days past it. I'm not very good at sticking to it tho cos it's too regimented!
*
Anne* - your symptoms sound very positive! Can u wait until 18th to test that is he question!? I did last month, the month before I couldn't. Not sure about this month!

Theaks · 10/03/2016 11:14

Hi Lily, some people are insensitive and so unaware! My friend had her baby early this year, she upsets me regular- but it's not her fault. Throughout her pregnancy she kept asking if I was alright, her sympathetic face constantly said 'are you okay because I'm pregnant and you had 2 miscarriages'. Now baby is here she texts when she chooses to leave him with grandparents saying how much she misses her baby, and she wants to go get him and she is not coping. Just want to scream 'so do I!' But that wouldn't be the best.
Can't believe we back 'fun times' before the dreaded 2ww! I'm on cd 14 no and has a positive this morning, so all systems go. I'm just not sure what's the best- everyday? Every other? What's people's thoughts?

AnneLovesGilbert · 10/03/2016 11:11

Can I please join you? This seems like a nice friendly thread. Friendly did you test?

Lily did you see your friend? I hope it was okay if you did.

I'm in first cycle off the pill, using Ovia and if the pill didn't mess it all up completely I'm about 9DPO. Didn't use OPK.

Feeling absolutely awful! And if the nausea, tiredness, lack of appetite and sudden hatred of coffee of the last 3 days weren't making me feel like I'm symptom-spotting to insanity, DP is so massively excited it might be this month he's driving me nutty.

Af due 18th and there really isn't any point testing before then is there?
I'll be over the moon if I am pg, but don't want to get my hopes up, or let DP get too excited, as it could take ages.

Hope you're all having good days.

Lily35 · 10/03/2016 10:45

How is everyone doing?

I got a smiley face yesterday so I think my first one was a false positive. I have been a bit obsessed with poas this cycle which is annoying! I didn't want to miss it!

We DTD on cd 11, 12, 13 and ovulating today. Think I will have to give DH a rest tonight and DTD again tomorrow. I've pretty much covered it tho right??

Baby Bomb friend came round last night. My god it was hard work. I was dreading it and then got excited, but she turned up full of the attitude that the Pregancy was a hindrance, that life will not change and even off to Oz when the baby is 3 months old. WTF??! She knows what we are going through as well - her head is in the clouds. So feeling a bit fed up today and have feelings of despair. I don't even know what more I can do!

shopaholic85 · 07/03/2016 18:57

Lily, it's a good thing you did poas otherwise you might have missed it!

Friendly, that must be so frustrating. You never know, it might become a bfp if af doesn't arrive.

I've deleted Ovia from my phone and stopped tracking my cycle. I'm just going to dtd as normal and hope for the best. DH and I are living apart at the moment, because of work, so think the tracking was putting additional pressure on us. I feel much happier now and have started making plans for the future that don't involve getting pregnant.

FriendlyGhost · 07/03/2016 12:17

Ahhhh! Tested and got a BFN. Still no AF and it was DD's swimming lesson this morning so I was convinced it would turn up in time for that. I still don't know if I'm late or not but it's been 15 days since we dtd and 33 days since last AF so I would have expected a positive by now if there was going to be one. Oh well I guess I'll have to work on DH to start trying properly. In the meantime I'm going to console myself with chocolate. Hope the rest of you have better luck soon!

FriendlyGhost · 06/03/2016 14:21

Hopefully this will be your time Lily! Lie down for as long as possible afterwards
I woke up at 1.30 this morning with cramps and felt sick and resigned myself to AF but nothing. I woke up again at 4 to feed dd and the sickness and cramps had gone. Still no AF although I do feel a bit sick. That may be due to exhaustion from being up half the night feeling ill and feeding dd though. I've just been out and finally bought some tests and may do one tomorrow morning!

Lily35 · 06/03/2016 10:05

I was doing fine until I poas and got a smiley face on cd 10! I did use first morning wee though so have I made a mistake? Should I do another in an hour? Thank god I'm back home to DH tonight though so we can at DTD just in case!

How are you feeling FriendlyGhost? Any more symptoms?

FriendlyGhost · 05/03/2016 13:10

How are you all doing? Anecdotally there seems to be evidence that relaxing and not tracking periods helps. Easier said than done though-I know when I was ttc first time around I was always mentally checking dates even if I didn't have an app.
I'm being absolutely pathetic here and am too scared to test because I don't want a negative. Still no AF. It's probably due around today but with breastfeeding i doubt it's regular. I thought I had some dizzy and sickness symptoms the last couple of days but I've got a cold so most likely that and now the cold is here the symptoms have gone. I'm holding off testing until I know I'm really late. This is partly because DH wanted to wait to ttc until the summer and was quite firm about this (I was an absolute misery with sickness last time). He hasn't mentioned anything since the incident so I think he's blissfully unaware that I'm hoping I'm pregnant Grin

shopaholic85 · 02/03/2016 16:56

Lily if you are not ready to see your friend yet, just tell her. I am sure she would understand. I have avoided seeing my pregnant SIL and my friend's newborn for the last 2 months. And I am only just starting to feel ready to see them now.

AF arrived a day early today, so at least the waiting over. I told my best friend and she told me to stop stressing and it would happen when I stop trying. I know she was trying to be helpful but it didn't help. And so when I got home I burst into tears, which was probably also to do with having a rubbish day at work.

I'm seriously tempted to delete the Ovia app and not track my cycle this month. I have a fairly regular cycle, so maybe it's causing more harm than good?

FriendlyGhost · 02/03/2016 14:39

That's so tough Lily. It will be you very very soon. I'm sure your friend will understand if you need some space for a while. I remember first time around I felt awful telling a couple of my friends who were ttc. Turned out one of these was pregnant at the time but didn't know it and the other got pregnant a few months later. They both have gorgeous dcs now Smile
It's only 10 days since we dtd so I think too early to test here. I'm crap with disappointment so I don't want to test until I think I'm late. Plus I bumped into a friend in waitrose this morning so I chickened out of buying any tests in case she saw!

Lily35 · 02/03/2016 09:23

Welcome FriendlyGhost! I think you should test!

Shopaholic - I know exactly what you are feeling like :( don't give up - it's very hard to keep being excited month and after month but you will get there. Don't despair. (Now I need to listen to my own advice)

I'm still dealing with that baby bomb and she wants to come and see me but I can't face it at the moment. I have put it off for a week but am going to have to face it at some point. I am really happy for her don't get me wrong but I'm so jealous that she fell pg so easily (twice)

FriendlyGhost · 01/03/2016 21:35

I'm not really sure when I'm due but I may test at the weekend if no AF by then. The longer I leave it the longer I can continue my happy fantasy of being pregnant.
Not all tests can pick things up before you're due shopaholic so there's still hope;) keeping my fingers crossed for you.

shopaholic85 · 01/03/2016 19:51

Welcome FriendlyGhost. We've all been guilty of symptom spotting on here. When do you think you will test?

I had another BFN today (2 days before AF is due). Think I need to get the message now! And to top it off, I had an argument with DH and told him that we may as well stop ttc, because there is no point.

OP posts:
FriendlyGhost · 01/03/2016 14:17

Hello! Can I join? I'm really sorry some of you are having such a rubbish time of it. Hopefully there will be some bfps very soon.
I'm not technically ttc although I would like to but we had a contraceptive slip up last week (split condom) and it happened about 17 days after my period. I'm still bf my almost 15 month old dd and have only had two AF since having her so I haven't really been keeping track of my cycle length. I also don't even know if I'm ovulating yet! I used to be around 31 days though so if the length is still the same the timing could be right. I now can't stop thinking and hoping that I might be pregnant although the reality is that it's unlikely. I just 'knew' I was pregnant two or three days before I was late with my dd. This time I'm symptom spotting far too early and it's driving me insane!

Lily35 · 01/03/2016 11:19

Any BFPs?????
