Anyone else starting their 2ww?

Hi all

I think I am 2dpo and think AF is due 4th Feb so 13 days until I will be testing, if AF doesn't arrive.

I know it's not really possible to have symptoms this early but I have had frequent urination, excessive saliva and a slight metallic taste in my mouth today. I think it must be all in my head, because I don't remember having these symptoms the last time I had a BFP (which ended in an early m/c).

Is anyone else just starting a 2ww?

Lily - that is so tough, I'm so sorry but it's amazing that you are going back. Shows amazing strength. How are you feeling today?

I had a wine last night too and really enjoyed it! I've decided I can't put everything on hold. One more week of waiting! Eek.

Theaks how are you?

Gross question, but do any of you know what your CM should look like if AF is coming as opposed to pregnancy? Mine is very wet and a bit stringy but can't find out what that means.

xx

Theaks · 19/03/2016 19:20

Oh lily that is so horrible and sad!
You do. Portugal is beautiful! Turn it into some good memories. Xx

Lily35 · 19/03/2016 19:13

It was the most awful experience. I started to bleed a day before we flew back and they ummed and ahhed about me flying back with a suspected miscarriage. Hospitals there are superb though - straight in for scans etc and then gave me some amazing pain relief for the MC. I actually passed the baby somewhere over the Atlantic Ocean (you couldn't make this up). I just think that nothing that terrible could happen again surely!?!? I've got to go back and put that it all behind me...

Theaks · 19/03/2016 19:03

Oh lily you had your mc in Portugal! That's horrendous! That's my fear, I won't put my life on hold but holiday wise I just can't do it. Even though I need one. I found out I was pregnant 3 days before we flew to lanzarote last year, I was constantly panicking and checking due to the last loss. Holidays help you relax- will do you good.
That's good that everything ok! Think I might ditch the sticks too next month!

Lily35 · 19/03/2016 18:29

Hi all!

I can test Tuesday, due AF Thurs/Fri. In some ways I feel normal but have cramps and twinges everyday.

I've been back to the Fertility Doc and nothing wrong with either of us and I'm reacting well to the Clomid so I've got more tablets (3 mths) and told to lay of all the OPKs!!! So when AF raises her ugly head I'm turning over a new leaf. No poas, just DTD cd 11,13,15,17,19 she said and relax.

I have a hol booked on May 27th to Portugal (scary as that's where I had my miscarriage) but can't put life on hold.

I'm also sat with a Wine

How is everyone?
Kate - your bloods sounded horrific - all for a good cause though.
Theaks - fx you get your BFP!
Anne - have you tested??

Theaks · 19/03/2016 17:12

Keeping my fingers crossed for you Kate. Well I will be due Thursday latest so test on Saturday if nothing appears. Got occasional cramps at both sides of pelvic area. Just been out for a 6 mile walk so pretty knackered. I don't really hold off anything to be fair. I don't drink massive amounts anywho but I still won't stop on the off chance. I think you can put your life on hold far too much. I haven't booked a holiday this year- I'm gutted about it but I don't want to risk it.

HopefulKate1980 · 19/03/2016 11:13

Sounds like you and me are on a similar cycle Theaks? I can test in 7 days according to Ovia, so will test next Saturday I think. When will you test?

I have got cramps too this morning like period pains. I had a few drinks last night as I am convinced this isn't our month but maybe I should hold off for a week until I know for sure. What is your plan Theaks? Lily you are in the same cycle aren't you? About a week away from testing? Hope you are OK.

I'll get my results back on Wednesday and then I'll see the consultant again and make a plan based on the results. Praying it's all normal and I have just had bad luck so far. Or at least to have a deficiency in something that is easily fixed through medication..

xx

Theaks · 18/03/2016 22:43

Oh that sounds horrible Kate. It's done now. When do you get the results.

I'm okay, I think I'm out this month also. Getting period type cramps. A week before AF due, think due on wed/thurs. seem to get these every month now😔

HopefulKate1980 · 18/03/2016 20:29

Hi Everyone! How are you all?

Any new symptoms?? Anne - how are you? Lily? Theaks? Babcat?

I had my bloods on Wednesday and they were awful. One vein collapsed after 7 viles, so they had to use another one for the final 3. But they are done, thankgod, so now I just need to wait for the results.

I am convinced I am out this month. I knew it would be a miracle to conceive as I still have a clot in my uterine cavity (although I did bleed after my scan so it may have come out...unlikely though). I am still VERY bloated and have that tight feeling in my belly. And I have had stabbing pains in my tummy today but I am also getting aches down below which I get when I have a period and the gas which I normally have has gone, my boobs don't hurt etc. Anyway, it is a relief in some ways for my body to be getting back to normal so next month we should have a clear month, I hope.

PLEASE GIVE US SOME LUCK!!!

x

That makes sense Theaks.

I'm feeling awful rumblings of af, shite timing as such a busy few days ahead, but good that even though it hasn't happened this cycle af is coming. One of my worries was not having a proper cycle post pill.

Theaks · 17/03/2016 21:42

Anne I think the only good thing about the ovulation stick thingy is to know roughly when AF due- like if I ovulate later than normal at least I know so I know to expect AF late. The bad thing for me is stops spontaneous sexy time, and if we don't dtd I get cross. Both times I concieved it was without!

babcatboo · 17/03/2016 21:31

Sorry I missed your message earlier Lily! I'm not 100% sure when AF is due. My last cycle was the first one after mmc so it's a bit hard to say. Before that I was around 30-32 days which would be sat-mon. I'm out of pregnancy tests now anyway lol so that can take some of the torture away. They're only cheapies but I felt so dizzy this morning and last night so I took one but no not a smidge. It's disheartening because I took a cheap test last pregnancy and it showed a faint line 4 days before AF was due. I'm sure AF will be here soon but you still can't help but hope..

AnneLovesGilbert · 17/03/2016 20:24

I'll be on at you for tips if I start doing it, would you mind? I'm clueless.

I said I'd start if I didn't get AF for a while once stopping the pill. We shall see... Would you recommend not starting so I don't get hooked?

Hope everyone's okay.

Theaks · 17/03/2016 19:16

Anne, it's a habit now! It's a nightmare! I have a need to check!

AnneLovesGilbert · 17/03/2016 16:28

How did it go at the hospital Kate? Hope you're okay.

Welcome babcatboo. This is a lovely thread, as the others have said, rant away. Better out than in!

Lily thanks for that. Hadn't thought about Ovia like that but you're absolutely right and I'll keep at it.

Relieved you agree about the cervix thing Theaks! Can't stop opk cos it's a habit or doctor's advice?

I bought pregnancy tests at lunchtime. 95% sure I don't need them and we've got a busy weekend away so think I'll wait till Monday and test then if no AF.

Lily35 · 17/03/2016 11:27

When are you due AF Babcatboo? I'm due 24th so trying to refrain from testing. I feel very PMSy so think BFN anyway

babcatboo · 16/03/2016 18:44

Aww lily that must be tough 😟 we've been trying since may, it took 6 months initially but then had an mmc. At least I know I can conceive but it's just so frustrating. I just can't stand the waiting!! Especially as I've had cramping (could be af) nausea headaches bloating light headedness etc.. Probably all in the mind.

Theaks · 16/03/2016 18:42

Anne, I came off the pill in March 2014 but used protection as we had a holiday booked to Florida and I was going to get drunk and go on fast rides! So we only officially started trying in October and found out we was pregnant in the December. We didn't do any apps or ovulation sticks! Just plain fun and was surprised it happened so quick. Had a mc at 6weeks. Same again no apps or opk and dropped on in June 15, MMC at 8weeks. I started using opk as the doctor suggested it. Want to stop using them and get back to pot luck, but can't now! I don't get the whole cervix checking thing in all honesty!!!
Welcome babcatboo, we are all allowed a good rant! You are amongst people that understand your frustration

Lily35 · 16/03/2016 18:26

Welcome babcatboo - rant away!!!! How long have you been trying? I'm frustrated ! People are on their second children while I'm still trying Angry

babcatboo · 16/03/2016 18:12

I just posted about my 2ww but then I spotted this thread. It's making me a bit crazy trying! I am currently 12dpo, so now feel stupid I did two cheap tests a few days ago (!) which have made me feel totally negative. I've been queasy and tired all week and was really hopeful this time as I did the sperm meets egg plan for the first time. Starting to feel like if it doesn't work this time I may stop trying and lose some weight instead. It's frustrating as my friend who started trying after us is just about to give birth. And seeing my other friend blossom and find out sex of her baby.. We were due 3 days apart until a mmc at 10w. Sorry to rant!

Lily35 · 16/03/2016 13:46

And I got two new thrillers which look easy reading!!

Lily35 · 16/03/2016 13:46

I came off the pill in Jan 2014 and just wanted to see what happened. I never had reg cycles though so after a year of nothing I started trying to pin point my ovulation and went to see the docs. I'd been on pill so many years I've no idea what my normal is.

I certainly never did the cervix poking as I thought I'll never get it right! I also never temped as I just couldn't rely on doing it on right time every single day! And I like a lie in on a weekend so would have messed that up too.

I like opks as you can at least plan for when your next AF will arrive even if you don't BD on the right time. My DP is a chef and works shifts/lates so we needed more indication on OV. It can get obsessive though!!

I thought Ovia was really handy tbh - it's good to log things in it and it's handy for the docs -God forbid u have to go down that route. You can see quickly when last period was etc. I do sometimes compare the month I conceived to months after that which can drive me a bit mad. I've laid off that recently.

AnneLovesGilbert · 16/03/2016 13:08

As I'm new to the party, did you all start out just seeing what would happen then starting OPK and other monitoring as time went on? Do you mind me asking?

I've been using Ovia but I wonder if that can quickly start driving you a bit potty and I haven't started poking my cervix yet.

How do you reconcile being relaxed, which everyone (annoyingly) says can help, and trying to give yourselves the best chance at getting pregnant?

AnneLovesGilbert · 16/03/2016 13:01

Ooh, good work Lily! What did you get?

I like that about miracles Theak. Fx for all of us having our miracles soon! x

Lily35 · 16/03/2016 12:57

Just brought two more books Anne! Grin
