Anyone else starting their 2ww?

Hi all

I think I am 2dpo and think AF is due 4th Feb so 13 days until I will be testing, if AF doesn't arrive.

I know it's not really possible to have symptoms this early but I have had frequent urination, excessive saliva and a slight metallic taste in my mouth today. I think it must be all in my head, because I don't remember having these symptoms the last time I had a BFP (which ended in an early m/c).

Is anyone else just starting a 2ww?

2 different fertility consultants have told me to DTD every other day now - and agreed it really does make sense. Plus, sperm can liver 2-3?days so you would always be 'covered' (excuse the phrase).

AnneLovesGilbert · 22/03/2016 16:19

Lily, this advice on not DTD every day, I've read all sorts of conflicting advice but your doc is an expert, so do you think that's better than doing every day, even if we'd want to?

What's everyone else's approach?

AnneLovesGilbert · 22/03/2016 16:18

I haven't got any spots but since coming off the pill my entire face is bumpy and my cheeks are dry and slightly flakey. Also have small dry sore bits on my upper back - very attractive! I'm moisturising like mad and on all all the vitamins, not sure what else to do.

You're right Theaks, we do!

Theaks · 22/03/2016 15:58

Oh yes that can't put finger on it but just feel blah feeling!! Still hoping! There needs to be bfp soon in this little group!

Lily35 · 22/03/2016 15:36

It's definitely AF - you know when you feel 'grotty'? That's how I feel...I look forward to starting!

Theaks · 22/03/2016 15:29

I'm prone to spots, just get worse when AF due! I look like a wrinkly teenager, far too old for spots! That was one benefit to the pill!

Lily35 · 22/03/2016 15:06

I have 3/4 spots! I don't normally get that many eek. Also I'm crampy and slightly nauseous Shock

Theaks · 22/03/2016 14:55

Lily I always get spots before AF due too! But I also got very spotty when I was pregnant first time round- it was Christmas and looked horrendous on my Hubbys Xmas doo! Never know!!
I have started to feel very queasy! Is it AF looming, or the fact I'm at work! Ha ha!

AnneLovesGilbert · 22/03/2016 10:38

Bugger Lily, sorry Sad How's your day looking?

Af gone! Brutal but mercifully short. Woke up feeling really good, calm, relaxed, healthy, pretty frisky, and happy Smile

Kate hope you're not feeling too ropey. Your weekend sounds lovely. Sweet of you to say about your friend, thank you, we'll see what happens!

Lily35 · 22/03/2016 09:55

I've got 2 big spots - AF is looming :(

Cd 26 but again I know I'm not pg so not going to test. Just going to wait to AF on Thurs or Fri

HopefulKate1980 · 21/03/2016 20:06

That makes so much sense lily - glad you are in the hands of a good consultant. I am hoping mine is going to work out to be just as wise.

Anne hope the pain is easing? Very exciting about the wedding though - I bet you if you focus on that and get swept away with the romance of it, you may just fall. It happened to my friend - trying to get pg and then got distracted planning a wedding and whoops...

And YES I so agree! It is so lovely to meet people you can rant to and confide in. My friends are amazing but they don't get it.

I have had a good day. Boobs are swollen and I'm very bloated but that is very normal for me 5 days before AF so hard to tell. Got to focus on the great bottle of prosecco I am going to have with my sister in laws on Saturday rather than focus on testing, as I am 99% sure I am out this month, despite my random symptoms.

How is everyone tonight??

Theaks · 21/03/2016 17:21

I agree Anne. So glad that I can talk to other lovelies that understand!

AnneLovesGilbert · 21/03/2016 13:29

Kate, there's a lot to be said for a really good sleep. Glad you're feeling good today.

I can't tell you how glad I am to have found you lovely lot.

AnneLovesGilbert · 21/03/2016 13:25

Thank you, AF bit better today. Just wiped me out. Back on the prescription painkillers I had knocking around God knows what they do to your insides but they stop me wanting to be sick and then faint.

No particular aches and pains Theaks thankfully, but soon heavy and crippling pain. Sorry yours suck too. I can see myself getting very very grumpy if it carries on for too long. And yes Lily, DP is incredibly sweet and sympathetic but even the good ones can't have a clue how shit it is or unfair it feels. Anyway, get me off the self pity train, it's going nowhere!

Wedding is beginning of June. Not got a dress yet! So if we hit the jackpot we can celebrate a wedding and a baby on the way. If not we can eat, drink and be very merry on honeymoon!

Theaks · 21/03/2016 09:07

That does make sense lily. My friend was trying for 10 months. She was frantic testing and dtd when her body said rather than what she wanted. She started seeking fertility help, I told her that she would catch on in no time because I could see her relaxing! She did! She ditched the opk and seemed to take back control.

Theaks · 21/03/2016 09:04

Not sure when I can test to be honest, I was just going to wait until Friday maybe. I'm due AF on wed/Thurs so thought I'd wait til after so I don't waste money on tests. I had a good stash before that I got from the EPU but I used them all! I'm going to be negative and say I think this month is not mine. Getting pain in my groin area but I think I pulled something on my walk on Saturday. Anywho I am not sure I feel any different from my last 3 cycles!

Lily35 · 21/03/2016 08:45

She said because it stresses you out more. So she told me off for DTD everyday - said we must be doing every other day so sperm rejuvenates. We must be DTD cd 11,13,15,17,19 so that should cover ov and no need for opks. She said when u get that positive you are suddenly stressing to DTD and that doesn't help!

HopefulKate1980 · 21/03/2016 08:32

It isn't over until AF rears her head lily!! So pleased you got the all clear. Must be a relief. Why did they say no OPKs? Is it because it can misguide you? Xx

Lily35 · 21/03/2016 08:03

Hi everyone
Thanks for the nice responses....
Lovely news on your wedding Anne. And sorry to hear AF is horrendous. The things we have to put up with as women!

I'm feeling glad about the all clear (but I'm my head I think why is it not happening quicker). And losing the opks will be hard! For about a year I have used them so getting out of that routine will be hard. That smiley face just makes me feel positive! But...at least with the Clomid I know when ov will be as without it could be all over the place.

I can test tomorrow according to Ovia but I have no symptoms whatsoever- so I'm out again this month sadly.

HopefulKate1980 · 21/03/2016 07:58

Oh bugger, sorry Anne. Hope it's not too painful. But great you can sort your wedding around your cycle now! Have you got your dress?? How exciting.

How are you theaks? Remind me when you are testing?

I've just had the most beautiful nights sleep & just on way to work. I can test on Wednesday with a FRER (did you know that those tests don't work 6 days before your missed period BUT 12 dpo, which for me is always 3 days before AF is due. I've been wasting so much money!!)

I don't have much hope this month. Don't gave the symptoms I've had before at this stage. But have a good Easter booked so that will help with any disappointment!!

How is everyone? Xx

Theaks · 21/03/2016 06:58

Oh dear Anne. Yeah I miss my AF while on the pill- so much easier! I get all these aches and pains that I wasn't used to.
When do you get married?

How's everyone else?

AnneLovesGilbert · 20/03/2016 21:08

Lily you sound brave and amazing and you deserve a wonderful holiday. Have a relaxing break, hit up the occasional drink and hope it's very romantic! ;)

Celebrate the all clear from the doc, that must feel like a relief? How do you feel about ditching the OPKs?

AnneLovesGilbert · 20/03/2016 21:05

Hey everyone! Tested Friday though I was 99% sure there was no point. BFN. But came on the day Ovia said I would, 28 cycle exactly, which is good! Booked our wedding round my pill cycle so if this continues and I don't get my BFP before the wedding hopefully I can at least bank on being af free for the wedding and honeymoon!

Having the period from hell. 2 years on the pill and I'd forgotten the sheer horror... Oh well, hitting the pain killers and had a few wines last night!

Agree with Theaks, we may as well enjoy a bit here and there till we can't for 9 months!

Kate wouldn't have a clue about cm, but stringy is meant to be a good sign I think.

Theaks · 20/03/2016 13:30

Good on you Kate! Enjoy a glass of wine! Because if you do get that bfp you won't be allowed!
Im not sure about CM to be honest. I think it differs from person to person. And even each cycle it can be different. I read once that lots of CM indicated pregnancy but then someone else said not. So I'm not sure.

HopefulKate1980 · 20/03/2016 11:18

Anne - how are you? Have you tested? xx
