Anyone else starting their 2ww?

Hi all

I think I am 2dpo and think AF is due 4th Feb so 13 days until I will be testing, if AF doesn't arrive.

I know it's not really possible to have symptoms this early but I have had frequent urination, excessive saliva and a slight metallic taste in my mouth today. I think it must be all in my head, because I don't remember having these symptoms the last time I had a BFP (which ended in an early m/c).

Is anyone else just starting a 2ww?

Kate, did you do a pregnancy test after the mc? I had a resounding negative on CD11 and ovulated around CD16/17 (I think). I know you've been trying for a long time. Is it better to not get our hopes up?

Ha ha! No problems! I feel pretty hopeless at the moment!!

That is so reassuring that you used ovulation tests. I did too - and I had a strong positive the day before we had sex twice. BUT I had presumed that the ovulation tests after a MC were unreliable because they detect the leftover pregnancy hormone rather than ovulation. Am I wrong?! I would love to know that my ovulation results were correct, as that would mean we DID ovulate and I could be pg.

Lily - I will test next weekend again as that would be Day 26 if I count Day 1 as the day of the surgery...

And I'm 31. We obviously like our men older!

My partner is almost 41 so in the same boat too.

Kate massive apologies for the typo. You're hopeful not hopeless Blush I returned to work this week and, though I was anxious, it really helped getting back into a routine. And I was so busy, I didn't have time to think about the mc. I used ovulation tests and tracked my cm, so about 50% confident that I ovulated a few days ago.

Lily, I think you could test using one of those early ones in 3 days, but probably sensible to wait until day after af due.

Good luck back at work - when will u test this month?

HopefulKate1980 · 23/01/2016 23:20

Yes yes - keep me updated. Everything crossed for us all! x

Lily35 · 23/01/2016 23:17

Very similar here - OH is 43. I always thought I'd have a couple by 35 but it's not worked out that way. But good luck to all of us this month!

HopefulKate1980 · 23/01/2016 23:14

Ah right, I understand. I am 35, feel like time is running out in a big way. My partner is 42, so I know he feels the same.

We'll all get there though girls, I am sure!

Sorry losses Kate*

Lily35 · 23/01/2016 23:10

Sorry about your loss Kate - it's so heartbreaking. I found it was good to get back to a routine and to normal. We waited a period before TTC again. I was prescribed Clomid because it took 18 months for that first BFP so I was given it to assist with ovulation. I'm not sure I was ovulating properly. initial tests showed I had a stenosed cervix so I think that was my problem. But 18 months was a long time to try without falling pregnant. I'm about to turn 35 so I feel like time is not on my side!

Hi shopaholic My app says to test in 3 days??? Period due on 30th though. It seems early?

How old are you girls?

HopefulKate1980 · 23/01/2016 23:03

Shopaholic85 - I bloody hope so too!!! I will keep everything crossed. How did you know you have ovulated?

Keeping busy sounds good! I have been off work for 3 weeks and the past 4 days, I have been in meltdown and desperate to get back to the structure of the working day on Monday, even though I am dreading seeing everyone again since the MC.

Hi both! I'm sorry for your losses. I really hope this is the month for us!

HopelessKate, I'm waiting for my first AF since the mc too, and have been surprised that I ovulated around the time I would normally do. I'm desperate to get pg again, but don't want to get my hopes up, especially as DH and I only DTD once during my fertile window. I gave up alcohol and caffeine when we first started TTC in Sept, so will just carry on with that and make more of an effort to eat well. Also, I am going to keep myself busy. I did lots of early testing last time and drove myself a little crazy so determined not to do that this time.

Lily, I didn't have tender boobs when I had my BFP in Dec, so I was really surprised that I was pg. I don't think it means you're not. When will you test?

Hi Lily.

Forgive my ignorance and please don't answer if you don't want to, but what were you prescribed Clomid for? I have had two MC and to be honest I expect we may have another due to my low AMF and I wondered what my options may be if we do (please no) have another...

I am in the 2ww! 9dpo on my first Clomid cycle (2 years TTC, 1xMC).
I'm convinced I'm not pg tho as last time I had tender boobs and I have nothing like that this time!
Am I reading too much into it ?!

HopefulKate1980 · 23/01/2016 21:32

Hi shopaholic85!

Yes I am, well sort of. I am waiting for AF after a miscarriage so I have no idea whether it's the 2ww or not, but I decided to stop drinking alcohol and caffeine until I know whether we are lucky or not.

It is 6 days since we TTC again, and I am convinced I have symptoms too. I also believe that sometimes women 'just know'. I have heard from doctors that early pregnancy symptoms become more pronounced after your first or second pregnancy and women become more attuned to the signs.

What is your plan for your 2ww? Are you going to be super strict or just relax?
