Anyone else starting their 2ww?

Hi all

I think I am 2dpo and think AF is due 4th Feb so 13 days until I will be testing, if AF doesn't arrive.

I know it's not really possible to have symptoms this early but I have had frequent urination, excessive saliva and a slight metallic taste in my mouth today. I think it must be all in my head, because I don't remember having these symptoms the last time I had a BFP (which ended in an early m/c).

Is anyone else just starting a 2ww?

Saturday testing day for me but it will be BFN so I'm not rushing! Have u got any symptoms?

mustthinkofabetterusername · 22/02/2016 15:39

Thanks lily35

DC1 took ten months to conceive. I was quite relaxed about the whole thing until 6 months, after that was a bit more stressed about it (have a family history of "unexplained infertility"), delighted to get pregnant before one year and having to go to hospital for further assessment etc

This time we're going with the old-fashioned (and recommended by NICE guidelines) dtd every 2-3 days. I'm not checking temps, but do feel when I ovulate to track this.

Testing tomorrow (four days before period due). Anyone else testing tomorrow also?

Lily35 · 22/02/2016 15:32

Hi ! And welcome. This one has just rolled over!

Good luck this cycle - how long did it take for you to conceive no 1?

mustthinkofabetterusername · 21/02/2016 23:52

Am new to this thread. Only just started ttc dc2, af due on Sat, so earliest I can test is Tues. Stupid question; how often do they start new tww threads? Every month? Or do people just stay on the same one and let it roll over?

HopefulKate1980 · 21/02/2016 22:27

Thanks Shopaholic! Lovely to hear from you.

God, so we all have a big week of waiting ahead! I'm pretty sure I haven't caught either cos bleeding is still continuing. But at least my cycle will be back to normal in a few weeks.

Let's keep in touch this week. Sleep tight ladies xx

Lily35 · 21/02/2016 21:57

Hi Shopaholic
Yep gonna leave it until Saturday! I'm due AF on Sunday. I don't think we have caught so I feel like you - I can cope with the BFN this time I think. Got a busy week so just going to get on with things!

shopaholic85 · 21/02/2016 21:31

Welcome back Kate! I'm glad to hear you were finally able to start ttc again.

I'm sorry that the ttc journey has been so tough for you both. We only started ttc 6 months ago, but with the mc, it feels like a lifetime.

Ovia says I can start testing in 9 days. No symptoms whatsoever yet, but I'm not obsessing like I did last month. We gave it a good shot so I think I will be able to cope with a BFN.

Lily, you'll be the first to test. On Saturday, I think?

I know! It all feels so hard at times. We will get there though, I know it. Xx

Lily35 · 21/02/2016 13:03

I got pg the month before my Clomid started. I think I'll wait another 4 months and then move forward.
Thanks for the advice on those tests - I was starting to get worried. I've had a scan on my follicles and she seemed happy so maybe I'm just being a bit impatient!
No one told me it would be this hard - I was so excited when we first started TTC!

HopefulKate1980 · 21/02/2016 11:41

They do a blood test but I also had a scan on my ovaries which showed that I don't produce many follicles each month which they said would make conceiving very difficult but we have fell pregnant twice so I am not sure what that means? My plan is to try for three cycles and then if it doesn't work, go back to them.

Don't worry about the AMH unless they bring it up. They would have tested earlier if they were worried. The Clomid must have worked if you fell pregnant so that is encouraging?

When can you do a pregnancy test? xx

Lily35 · 21/02/2016 11:00

We've been trying over 2 years now. Some months weren't quite right timing wise but still felt too long so we went to docs and I had all the tests. Tubes are open and OHs sperm is ok but I had a closed cervix. We sorted that out and I fell pg a couple of months after (right before we were due to start Clomid). She said to keep trying with the Clomid and when I go back we will talk about IVF cos I'm 35 now. I'm worried about the AMH and egg reserve but they haven't brought that up with me? How did they test for it?

HopefulKate1980 · 21/02/2016 10:38

Ah great that it is fun again lily!

Sorry to ask a personal question, but why are you going to the fertility doctors? I ask because I am thinking we may need to do the same if we don't fall in the next few months.

Before my first pregnancy in July last year, I was told by a fertility doctor that I had a low AMH and they recommended IVF. They told me I would never get pregnant naturally but then fell a few weeks later (the day before I was about to start IVF!). Sadly I miscarried that baby but fell pregnant again immediately afterwards, and then miscarried again. So if we don't have a successful pregnancy relatively soon I am going to go back and talk about IVF.

xx

Lily35 · 21/02/2016 10:26

We DTD perfectly over ovulation! It's been quite a fun month too which is always good. It was becoming a bit regimented. I'm back at the fertility docs in March so one more month and I think we can talk IVF

HopefulKate1980 · 21/02/2016 09:50

How are you this morning shopaholic?

xx

HopefulKate1980 · 21/02/2016 09:49

Ah bless you lily. Thank you. I was pretty low for a while - I just couldn't understand why my body was taking so long to get back to normal. I thought that having surgery and then having a big dose of antibiotics to clear up an infection would have cleaned out all the hormones and blood but clearly not. It is all so confusing.

Anyway, I am glad to be back! How are you? No symptoms doesn't necessarily mean anything? Did you DTD this month? xx

Lily35 · 21/02/2016 09:31

Welcome back Kate! I was worried about you. Sorry you had to go through so much waiting and confusion.

The blood sounds like just maybe left overs from your MC. After I had mine they told me that I would get heavy period next as is takes a while to get back to totally normal. And it could also be ovulation spotting so I think nothing to worry about!

I understand what you DH said about giving it all a rest - it does help! I have this month and I've felt loads better! I'm on cd 23 with no symptoms so not caught this month. Onto the next!!

Good luck!

HopefulKate1980 · 21/02/2016 08:44

Hi girls!

I'm so sorry I went missing for a while! The whole miscarriage nonsense was really getting me down and my boyfriend ordered me to stop researching miscarriages, talking about miscarriages etc so decided to give mumsnet a rest for a bit. Sorry to desert you. How is everyone? Are we all in the 2ww again?!

A little update on my annoying story. Remember I was still getting positive tests 6 weeks after my surgery and was v confused? Well, it simply turned out my body took ages to get back to normal.

I went to the hospital to have my bloods taken about 3 weeks ago and they were at 164, and then 121... so they just said, test again in a week or 10 days and they should be negative. The waiting drove me INSANE!! But finally, I got a negative! So I immediately went to Boots and bought stacks of ovulation tests and started testing. I got a low for three days, and then last weekend got highs, so told my boyfriend to gear up! It finally turned peak on Wednesday, and we had sex Tuesday and Wednesday night. I wanted to do it day and night! But my poor bloke had a nasty bug so it was a miracle he managed two nights in a row.... Anyway, I am now in the 2ww. Eek.

However, to add confusion (why should things be easy?!) I have had some spotting over the past 4 or so days, and one day it was like a light period. Mostly it has only been noticeable when I have wiped after the loo, but in Friday night it was a bit in my wee too. I called the hospital and they said it could be ovulation bleeding, especially as I was getting high / peak fertility on ovulation tests... what do you think? Have any of you guys had that? i found it very confusing. Sorry about this but I checked my CM and it was stringy and long but tinged with blood too. Do you think it means this egg won't be healthy? The hospital didn't seem concerned but they don't have the ticking clock like I do!

Anyway, I am now in the 2ww. I had a few drinks on Friday night but gonna lay off booze and caffeine for a week or so. Ovia says I can test in 10 days so gonna sit tight until then. When can everyone else test?

xx

Lily35 · 19/02/2016 10:07

*27th

Lily35 · 19/02/2016 09:05

Good luck!!
I got my dates for AF wrong - I should get it on the 29th ish.

No symptoms what's so ever this month so I think I'm out as I'm cd 21 already and 7dpo so would have thought I would have some by now.

I'm pretty relaxed though and I've kept really busy so I haven't really got too up tight about it. If not caught in next couple of cycles I get to go down IVF route so I'm actually quite excited!!

Keep me updated on symptoms!!!

shopaholic85 · 19/02/2016 08:50

Fertile window has just closed, so in the 2ww now. AF due on 3rd March so will start testing around the same time as you Lily!

shopaholic85 · 17/02/2016 14:00

Lily, you are not out until AF! And no symptoms is probably better than having symptoms followed by BFN.

DTD going well so far, but wish DH wasn't so stressed with work this week. I have a week off so we feel a little out of sync. Trying to keep it fun and haven't mentioned that I am ovulating, but I'm sure he knows. My 2ww will be spent packing and getting ready to move, so hopefully won't have time to obsess too much.

Lily35 · 16/02/2016 10:14

I'm cd 18! Ovulated on cd 14. This time I'm waiting until AF on 1st March!! I don't think we've caught again as I feel same as last month.

Good luck !!!

shopaholic85 · 16/02/2016 10:11

I'm on CD14 now and OPK is positive. Eek! This is earlier than I was expecting so DH has been summoned home early today. Grin

So should be entering the 2WW soon.

Lily, when will you test?
