Anyone else starting their 2ww?

Hi all

I think I am 2dpo and think AF is due 4th Feb so 13 days until I will be testing, if AF doesn't arrive.

I know it's not really possible to have symptoms this early but I have had frequent urination, excessive saliva and a slight metallic taste in my mouth today. I think it must be all in my head, because I don't remember having these symptoms the last time I had a BFP (which ended in an early m/c).

Is anyone else just starting a 2ww?

Thanks shopaholic.

Yeah, if a MC was imminent they would start dropping but what I am petrified about is that they signal a poorly developing embryo / foetus which may MC further down the line. It would be so cruel if this just delays the inevitable.

I've got a scan on the 3rd (week on Friday) where they hope to see something or at least diagnose where it is.

I just wish this was a normal pregnancy. It would be worrying enough without all of this to contend with.

xx

Oh, I'm sorry Kate Flowers Life can be so rubbish sometimes.

Blobs are a good sign. And I'm no expert but, if something was wrong, wouldn't HCG be falling instead of climbing? You're right, it's so confusing.

Do you have a follow-up scan next week? It's still early days and most clinics don't even scan until 6 weeks at the earliest.

Hi shopaholic. Not really! It was all very inconclusive and confusing. They couldn't see anything in my tubes which is a good sign but then the consultant said they wouldn't see anything anyway as it is too early.

They could see a few black blobs in my uterus and one of them had lining around it which suggests maybe an early pregnancy. But my HCG levels are still too low and not climbing like they should, so even if it isn't an ectopic, it doesn't look too hopeful. I am trying to cling to every hope I have but I am finding it hard tbh. Hope you are OK?? xx

shopaholic85 · 24/05/2016 17:56

Hi Kate. Hope the scan gave you the reassurance you needed today xx

Thanks so much shopaholic. I will try my best! xx

shopaholic85 · 22/05/2016 21:46

Thank you and of course!

Good luck for Tuesday. Make you have something to distract yourself tomorrow evening, so you don't spend all night worrying. I'll be thinking of you xx

Gosh how exciting! Best of luck. Will you come back and tell me how you get on?

I have a scan on Tuesday - I'll be 5+2 and so they may not be able to see anything. My HCG today had jumped massively so hoping that I just had slow rising HCG for the first week and now it will catch up. This obviously may be wishful thinking and it's been slow to rise because there is a problem but I am praying for a miracle.

shopaholic85 · 22/05/2016 21:22

Tiredness and bloating were the only symptoms I had in the early stages, if that helps? And no bleeding is definitely a good sign. Do you have an early scan or more blood tests this week to check what's going on? If you're in London, you can self refer to St Thomas'.

I'm happy thank you (aside from the awful sickness), but preparing myself for whatever the 12wk scan will show next week xx

Thanks for popping by shopaholic!! So lovely to hear from you and thanks for your kind words. It is all quite frightening really but trying to get the little beams of hope where I can and hold onto them. Tonight I am very bloated tired and thirsty which are good signs I hope and they are keeping me from spiralling into panic! Hope you are healthy and happy?? xxxx

shopaholic85 · 22/05/2016 20:39

Kate, just popped back to say congratulations and sorry that you are having a difficult time Flowers. I'm no expect, but should think that the rising HCG is a good sign! I will be thinking of you and hoping and praying for the best xx

Thanks so much theaks. How are you? I am having a tough time with a suspected ectopic but I won't know anything for sure for a few days. Slow rising HCG. I am praying for a bloody miracle as I am not sure I can take the heartbreak again. xxx

Theaks · 19/05/2016 07:20

Hi kate was just scrolling through my old chats and I noticed your news. Congratulations!!! It is a very worrying time, I was the same- still am! Try to stay positive and enjoy it! shopaholic is over in the same December babies chat as me.
Wishing you a happy and healthy pregnancy!

HopefulKate1980 · 15/05/2016 09:09

Hi Anne

Are you still here? Shopaholic?

I just wanted to let you know that I got my BFP last week!! Still v early days and v scared it's going to happen again but trying to stay calm.

How was the wedding Anne?! I presume it's happened by now? Hope it was magical xx

HopefulKate1980 · 04/05/2016 22:09

Oh wow how exciting!!

On both fronts!

When can you test? Or when will you test?

I think everyone might have left this thread Anne! I am on another thread and the women are lovely. It is about people who are TTC after miscarriage but I am sure they wouldn't mind you joining?

xx

AnneLovesGilbert · 03/05/2016 14:24

Wedding is in a few short weeks!

Af is due in a week and I couldn't be feeling more hormonal. Don't want to get my hopes up as I had these same symptoms two months ago and came on in spectacular fashion!

Massive sore boobs, really weepy, tired, bloated. Feels too early to be premenstrual but who can say! Also not 100% sure on this cycle as my last one was so short that Ovia has predicted this one will be 23 days. Hoping AF isn't here earlier than a week if it does come.

How's everyone? Any more BFPs?

HopefulKate1980 · 28/04/2016 15:34

Oh my god that does sound manic! Bless you. When is the wedding?? Do you think you have ovulated yet?

I'm feeling ok, v tired, cos my back is hurting again so it keeps me awake at night...not going to do any symptom spotting this month. What will be, will be, to use a cliche...

AnneLovesGilbert · 28/04/2016 14:53

Good news! Hope you ovulate soon, do you feel alright about not OPK-ing? Keep on dtd if you both want to, that's got to be the main thing, but also good to know you're giving yourselves the best chance you can.

I'm manic, last bits getting sorted for wedding, work is insane, just so much going on. DTD every day but hardly sleeping, must try and prioritise rest and relaxation where possible....

I'm day 16 today, so nearly out of the green zone. I came on so suddenly and so early last month I didn't get a chance to start stressing! Assuming the same will happen again and maintaining the zen.

HopefulKate1980 · 28/04/2016 13:50

Much better thanks Anne. How are you?? I'm on CD11, still got lots of EWCM so imagine I'll ovulate soon if I haven't already. DTD every night since Sunday so far. So tired, but we are going to try two or three more times then I hope that will cover this month. Fingers crossed. I'm not sure how much disappointment I could take tbh.

AnneLovesGilbert · 25/04/2016 15:12

How are you feeling this week Kate? I've had some good advice on here about OPK, plusses and minuses and I think that, as you say, if it's not giving you much that's actually accurate I'll leave it for now. Something to bear in mind though.

Everyone else doing okay?

I'm on CD13 and feeling good. Not looking forward to the 2WW but like Kate I'm trying to be zen!

HopefulKate1980 · 22/04/2016 15:42

Thanks Anne. I was so upset at the start of the week. I even told my boyfriend that I'd had enough and couldn't stand the pain any longer, but I perked up on Wednesday and now feel positive again.

Some people swear by OPKs but my consultant said not to use them as they can cause unnecessary confusion. They only detect a surge in hormones but they don't predict ovulation. You can have a surge and then not ovulate until a week later, but if you trusted the OPK you'd miss that second window. He just said to relax and DTD as much as possible.

I'd give them a go though, cos they are useful. Just don't let them stop you DTD or change when you would have had sex normally... if that makes sense.

I think CM is a good indictor and also lots of people on here temp, but I haven't got into that yet.

This month is all about being ZEN for me!

AnneLovesGilbert · 22/04/2016 15:25

Oh Kate, how disappointing and sorry it's been a rough one.

You sound like you have a good plan though, crack on and I'm crossing everything for you for this month x Time together is the best, eat well, rest, look after yourself and do things that make you feel happy and relaxed.

Hope your back's better and you have a brilliant 10 days of dtd a lot!

I'm alright thanks, feel like the pill has now been gone a while and everything's settled down nicely. Boobs aren't constantly changing size and I feel a bit less riotously hormonal all the time! Did wonder about trying OPK as I haven't before and I think the reassurance would be nice? Would you say it's best not to start though?

We've been dtd near enough constantly so will carry on and hope something happens....

HopefulKate1980 · 22/04/2016 15:06

Hi Anne

I got my bloody period on Monday! It has been so heavy which makes me think it must have been a lovely big egg. I am so annoyed but when I look back at Ovia we didn't actually DTD that much, and I think all the drugs I was taking for my back might have delayed ovulation? I don't know, but all I know is this is the month where it all matters! I am still bleeding but we are going to start tomorrow and then not stop for about 10 days! No more OPKs this month or obsessing about symptoms, just lots of time together and rest. Fingers crossed!!

How are you feeling today?

AnneLovesGilbert · 18/04/2016 14:30

What news Kate? Sorry you're still cramping Sad

My af arrived days ahead of schedule, not as heavy as last time and only one day of real pain so count myself lucky. Quite worried a suddenly shorter cycle will have ballsed up my plans for the next couple of months. But what can you do!

Currently CD 6. Kept dtd through various ailments, always makes me feel better. I'm going to (hopefully) ovulate 3 days earlier than I otherwise would have to reflect the shifting cycle length I think?

Focussing on generally looking after myself after weeks of being run down, lots of fruit and veg, vitamins, water, minimal booze.

No sun here today but glad you've had some! How are you feeling?

HopefulKate1980 · 17/04/2016 08:51

I'll test again in a few days if still no period. Got cramps still, and increasing amounts of CM but that could mean AF is on it's way so...

Glad you are feeling better. What stage are you at now? Has your bug knocked you out with the old TTC efforts? Hope not.

Such a beautiful day here. Lots of sunshine ahead apparently too. I need to get my pale legs into shape quickly!

xx

AnneLovesGilbert · 16/04/2016 13:30

Kate! Test again! OMG, you never know...

Crampy, bloated and sore boobs could be either surely? And you've had those symptoms for a while. I'm crossing my fingers and toes for you x

Good you're seeing your consultant. You should be sure either way by then.

I'm not doing anything apart from resting, still wiped out. But watching a lot of TV which is nice!
