We do not judge, we enjoy TMI, we i encourage waiting to poas nobody listens and all the grossness you can find from a group of intelligent, articulate ladies fart stories make us laugh

Post your stats and add your dates. We have a register thanks to kat, a resident piss stick queen runner, loaaaaaads of bfp'ers who keep us positive! We don't have rules, we love a good symptom spot, we try to stay grounded and not be hysterical sometimes we manage it aswell

They def need to understand at the very least that we know what we're talking about and when we say it's time to dtd, it's time to dtd!!

ImpYCelyn · 21/01/2016 18:09

Lol Co5mo - it involves a practical as well, right? He can't complain Wink

Co5mo · 21/01/2016 18:05

It's not much to ask. My dh refused to dtd the other night and couldn't understand why I was peed off with him. For that, I'm handing him my positive opk the moment he walks in the door. Birds and the bees lesson advanced level coming up.

Holly300 · 21/01/2016 18:02

Haha co5mo - have fun!!

Holly300 · 21/01/2016 18:01

I totally agree with oh not quite understanding how the whole fertile window thing works! It is very common so you're not alone! It's so frustrating because we grow the babies whilst dealing with all the symptoms and weight gain. Then we have to push them out... They could at least try and understand how complex our bodies and their reproductive systems are. It's not a lot to ask tbh!

Co5mo · 21/01/2016 18:00

Oh and I put the positive Opk into Ovia and guess what...fertile week change. I knew I was right and it was wrong.

Been a little bit obsessed with this since I found it last night:

Miley if you have a specific thing you want to check just name it and I'll tell you what I did first time, and second (which is notoriously laxer). But I am pretty pragmatic about risk - I basically minimise but don't avoid entirely (handily I don't eat raw fish, undercooked chicken, or blue cheese anyway).

So sorry that so many of you have cancer in the family. It's an absolute bitch! My niece has just started her second year if chemo and it just makes me so angry that she has to go through that. My dad is on the list for open heart surgery and he's terrified - I must admit I've already thought I'd love to be able to tell him there's a baby on the way for him to meet.

ImpYCelyn · 21/01/2016 17:28

Miley you don't need to worry to much until you're upduffed. But avoiding vitamin A is really important - that's liver, pâté, foie gras etc. Then unpasteurised cheese - so hard cheeses are all fine (I think. Supermarket ones are. Fancy pancy farmers markets one are iffy), for soft cheese you need to check. Blue cheese is a goner. Alcohol we've already talked about... Raw fish and undercooked chicken - so step away from sushi. Shell fish like clams, scallops and mussels can have high levels of mercury.

My sil was pregnant at the same time as me and wouldn't eat salad in a restaurant in case it wasn't washed properly, but did eat scallops. I was a bit Hmm (I would've risked scallops as a rarity, but didn't give a toss about salad) (no pun intended)

So I've had this weird adrenalin high today despite basically no sleep. And instead of resting my foot I've run round like a mad woman and done loads of housework. No idea where that's come from. My leg bloody hurts now!

LisaTheGreek · 21/01/2016 16:56

Feefs - completely agree about being positive without being hysterical. I find my best days are the ones where at the end of the day I think 'oh, I didn't really think about TTC at all'.

As I've been on MN today, this won't be one of those days

I remember reading TTC threads back before we officially started trying and thinking 'TWW, that's not time at all, why are people so aggro about it?'. Oh how the mighty have fallen....I was a fool....

Mileymoocow · 21/01/2016 16:53

Can someone baby step me please? Does anyone have a list of what I can and can't do/eat whilst ttc and if I fall pregnant. I asked Google and it's all too much 😢

I feel like everything I love is a big no no!

Also cancer sucks balls so bad. My dad is in remission from mouth cancer. My grandad is undergoing radiotherapy at the mo and it's making him so poorly. I feel for you, ladies

FXSkip · 21/01/2016 16:46

LaraG Cthulhoo I am in a similar position where OH mum has just started chemo and I would love to have a BFP to cheer her up! We did promise to get married once her hair grew back, but I thought that would take years and now regret making the deal!

Feefeefs · 21/01/2016 16:43

I'm a bit chirpier today. Having some issues controlling pain from another issue but it's getting a bit better .

I find it difficult at times being positive without getting overly excited, and then I'm afraid of getting excited in case it doesn't happen! It's hard to balance

miwelaisjacydo · 21/01/2016 16:33

Am feeling very emotional today. Was at area sports with work and was almost in tears.
My DH thought TTC would just happen.

Cthulhoo that's exactly it. There's such a lot hanging on this. We are moving house in preparation, for example. It's hard not to feel responsible because it's your body. Sorry to hear about your mum, but I understand on that score too - dad has cancer and he'd be so delighted if I could tell him I was pregnant. But I'm sure we'll all be telling people soon enough!

Snowdog37 · 21/01/2016 16:00

confused last month I had lots of yellow ish cm and this month I'm pretty dry and what I do have is more white/cream.

Will be testing 20th Feb

Confusedcat1 · 21/01/2016 15:53

Does anyone know how cm is supposed to change after conception? Just so we can symptom spot even more hahaha

Snowdog37 · 21/01/2016 15:53

Ovia still thinks I'm due af on the 25th. She's a bitch.

Cthulhoo · 21/01/2016 15:52

Lara, I get this too. I feel like not conceiving is somehow a failure on my side. Intellectually I know it's not, but emotionally it does feel like it. So much planning in DP and my life is affected / will be affected by a pregnancy and I want to know what and when to plan for. Plus right now my mum's going through breast cancer treatment and I'd so love to cheer her up with good news.

Re Ovia - I'm with Lisa. I was about to give the same answer, only more polite. ;-)

LaraG13 · 21/01/2016 15:48

Hahahahaha lisa that made me laugh 😄

Harriet I think my OH's mind works in a similar way.

Snow I'm keeping fingers crossed for you!! And for all of you testing soon.

harrietm87 · 21/01/2016 15:42

Btw meant to share typical story of OH completely failing to grasp how conception works. I've explained it to him a million times including how this is my fw and that's why all the dtd etc.

So last night I did an opk and left it in the bathroom. When OH came to bed he was like, so are you pregnant then (obv having spotted the opk)! (A) if I was I would have told him, (b) it was like the day after we dtd!

Like lots of people's OHs he clearly thinks all you need is a quick shag and bam you're immediately upduffed. If only it was as quick and easy as that!

LisaTheGreek · 21/01/2016 15:40

Lara - definitely don't feel about telling Ovia. The bitch has it coming, frankly.
