Hi Lissie, great news about the swab results. Sorry about your row with dh but don't let it divide you especially at this time of year. Men are a bit crap sometimes at expressing their emotions in an inoffensive way. Hope you test again and get a great big fat positive. Clear blue digital is good and worth the money in my opinion, but try to resist testing til xmas eve xx

merrylissiemas · 21/12/2006 12:35

lol, so do i. the 1st sign i had with ds was throwing up in the restaurant skip, how are you doing?

OP posts:
Mumpbump · 21/12/2006 12:30

merrylissiemas · 21/12/2006 12:27

With this pg, I did a cheap test, nothing came up at first. I went and got the girls up, came down and there was a seriously faint line (hold up to the light kind of thing)

Later went and did a tescos test in their toilets again a line was there very faint.

Went to get it confirmed by the pharmasist who did a cheap test which came up negative . I bought a clear blue digital and told the chemist that I would takje this home do the test and if it came back positive would he validate it and he said yes.

Went home and did it and it was "pregnant"

If there is a faint line you should be able now to get a clear blue digital that has test upto 4 days early on it and it should work.

MerryMegandSnowySoph · 21/12/2006 09:48

hun what test was it?

merrylissiemas · 21/12/2006 09:47

Merry - I've read through and can tell you have been on a real rollercoaster recently, I haven't got anything helpful to say, I just wanted to plegde my support. I do think it is hard for men to understand how strong our feelings are even before there is a baby to feel anything for but we understand and are here for you whenever you need to chat. Fingers crossed for a Christmas BFP.

merrylissiemas · 20/12/2006 18:35

i know, i still have all the symptoms and with ds i kept getting bfn, bfp, bfn etc

OH lissie
I don't want to give false hope but sweetpea it is still early...
For now, a large cuppa, a mince pie in a room away from dh is probably what you need. I'm sure in a way he is disappointed too but of course it won't come out like that, it will come out as an 'attack' on you (that's exactly how my dh works too )

santasbaby · 20/12/2006 18:28

Sorry to hear your news - although flutturkey is right, test again after Xmas - I'll keep my fingers crossed.

I'm sure that once you have both had time to think and calmed down, you and dh will be able to clear the air. We all say upsetting things when we're angry (men esp ). Hope you can talk it through before to long, and that he understands how you are feeling.

merrylissiemas · 20/12/2006 18:22

thank you all so much for your support. was so sure id get a bfp and dh is just trying to be practical.

Lissie (hugs), thats an awful thing to say. Im not sticking up for him @ all but maybe its his way of dealing with the past. Maybe being pg again so soon is something he's finding hard to deal with. Usually men say hurtful things when they cant accept the truth.

Hope everything gets better and hope u get the BFP you want

Mumpbump · 20/12/2006 17:00

As my dh said the other day, he really has no idea what I went through and how my m/c affected me. They really have no concept of what it is like and I imagine that things might be a little strained with all that you've had to go through recently. I would suggest you take a deep breath, pour yourself a LARGE glass of wine (safe in the knowledge that you are not, at least presently, pg) and let it slide...

I agree that the sensible thing to do is to test after Christmas and see what happens then. I want to do a test, but I know it would be negative at the moment, even if I were pg... Very hard to resist!

MerryMegandSnowySoph · 20/12/2006 16:49

What an awful thing to say!!!

(((((((((hugs))))))))))

lulumama · 20/12/2006 16:49

that is nonsense....I had PND...it is an illness...and you are a fantastic mother..he knows it......

hard sometimes to understand that from the minute your find out you are pregnant, even though it is a tiny little dot, it is a baby to you and you have hopes and dreams for that little one...

merrylissiemas · 20/12/2006 16:46

im so angry with him. he actually said that with the mcs i was barely pg and over-reacted and im neglecting ds in my desperation for another baby. i just want to cry. then i said if he felt like that we should split up and he said he'd have noah coz no court would give me custody coz of my pnd!!!!!! [angry}

merrylissiemas · 20/12/2006 16:42

imtrying to pretend im ok, just to prove a point but i really thought w2e might have got lucky.

flutturkey · 20/12/2006 16:41

but do remember that your af isn't due to Xmas eve, wait till the shops re-open on the 27th and then if af still isn't here test again.

Good luck.
