Christmas over! Anyone else TTC #2?

I am ttc number 2 and am on cycle 5. My DC is 7 months old but I am anticipating it taking a while for me to get pregnant and, if it doesn't, even better.

Can any of you lovely ladies help me m? As I said in my last post I am still breastfeeding but I have started weaning and for the past few days have had tons of EWCM do you think this means I might be ovulating? I still haven't had a period since my lo was born 6 months ago so have no idea what my cycle is!

Seacrown, I am so sorry to hear about your loss last year. That must be very difficult for the whole family.

Kitkat, I am completely with you on being slightly petrified of tackling the idea of another birth and the newborn days. Having got used to sleep again, and really struggling with the first few months after a horrible birth experience last time, I am very scared. However, DD is such a joy and we desperately want another, so our theory is to have them close together before we get too used to life again!

Can I sign up please?
DD is 13 months, it took about 6 months with her. I am 29, 30 in Feb, DH is 32.
My cycles never really settled down after coming off the pill to ttc for number 1, and after although I stopped feeding my daughter about 5 months ago, they are still all over the place, generally about 38 days long so I imagine it may take a while for number 2.

Hello everyone, I'm mostly a lurker on MN these days but hopefully you don't mind me posting here!

We're TTC number 2, but got my period this morning so feeling a bit rubbish on all accounts! (Rationally I didn't think we'd be as lucky as last time, particularly as we were at the in laws for Christmas right through my FW...nothing like parents in the next room to put a dampener on the baby making!).

We have DS who will be 5 in April. Ideally we would already have #2 by now but two house moves in two years, a child who thinks sleep is for wimps and my rubbish health have meant that we're pushing my self imposed limit of being pregnant by 30! (This isn't because I think older would be bad, but I might need knee replacements in 5-10yrs and face that with a 5yr old rather than a 2/3yr old!)

Anyway, I'll stop whittering now!

Songs I am sorry to hear that. I hope everything gets better for you both. You do need something to look forward to. Remember my cycle ranges from 28-33 but always has... So also no idea when I ovulate. I have got sticks to try and find out!

Just to add I used to be very regular at 28 days but it's gone funny recently! It is really getting to me and I see it as a bad sign that my cycle has changed so much! Anyone else have similar issues?

Was my first day back after the Xmas break today! I am wiped out!
Anyhow my cycle has not been a constant 28 days over the last 12 months. It has ranged from 25 to 33 days at the longest. I'm confused what to put down as an average cycle when trying to work out fertile days

Echoing previous posters in some sympathy vibes songs. Did you manage to talk to your DH? What in particular is he anxious about? x

So sorry to hear that songs. Have you managed to talk more to DH about this? to see why he has changed his mind?

Songsandstitches I'm so sorry to hear that. It's strange isn't it how you think and feel one thing and then they can be on a different page without you realising! Did he give any reasons why? Hope you are ok! My oh was nervous, after what happened with our boy, but we've agreed new year to start. The thing that seemed to get through to him is that trying doesn't mean instant conception it instant baby. It's probably going to be a long road, but if we don't try it will be even longer. We've made a pact to talk through all the stages, whereas last time I did most of the planning-Bd and testing etc- in my own head! Don't know if this helps at all. TTC can be quite lonely I've found even though there's two people involved!

Mine came on the 26th.... I had a little cry and then cracked open a bottle of wine!

It would be so much easier if TTC was easy.... Then you could just decide on the exact date together!!

ohido I feel the same as you, remember those newborn days too well and I am a little scared of doing it again.. My DH has been desperate for another baby since DS was very little. I am anxious after a difficult labour and a difficult first few months but it flies so fast. I am also worried about how I will cope with two DC!!

Yes - my OH is ok with DS only. However I have worked on him and he seems to be ok now. He is a bit of a control freak and wanted things done first such as move house etc, let DS be older as it was hard when he was a baby. Don't worry - just speak to him and get to the bottom of it. Hi all may I join you? We have a 6month old dd (teddy massive similarities to you - I am 32 and we want a big family and small gaps!) I stopped bf on 17th dec and got a positive opk 5 days ago so hoping that we caught the first egg, though who knows if I actually ovulated as I haven't had a period for over a year! Conceived first time last time, but have also heard lots about secondary infertility and it is worrying. Fingers crossed and baby dust to all x

seacrown tell your OH he is braver than mine :) we might go for it next month but it's difficult with work hours.
I think the cheapies work just fine. Certainly the pregnancy ones do- that's how I got my BFP with my DD. I only use a CBFM because I can use FMU and later in the day it would be more difficult to test.
Those of your new to TTC the abbreviations drive you mad to begin with but you will soon pick them up! Fertility Friend has a good list in its documents pages.
