Relaxed TTC Feb/March/April 2016

Hi,

We've just agreed to start TTC #1 in March so just starting to look at preparing for that - prenatal vitamins, losing some weight, etc.

I'm 33 and have only been with my OH for just over a year but we're both sure this is the relationship for us...we'll be getting married but want TTC as a priority and fit any wedding around Mother Nature.

Not planning any temp checking or charting or such like....maybe I'll change my mind if I'm not preggers after six months or so!

Anyone planning TTC about the same time and want to keep in touch on this thread for relaxed catch ups about preparing and then TTC?

wispa thank you!! Yes it's rather soon I suppose but we always wanted a small age gap! Actually we wanted 18 months but that time has passed. Oops!
Vanilla thank you so much that's very reassuring!

We dtd this afternoon and I had a fair amount of pink on the tissue when cleaning up (sorry, tmi!!) so slightly worried about that Confused

Vanillaradio · 29/02/2016 17:35

Bippers not necessarily. The doctor I talked to told me preeclampsia often appears later or not at all in a second pregnancy. She is hopeful I won't get it this time, we'll see I guess.
Highhopes no way that I would be able to hold out so long, I am impressed by your patience!

HighHopes16 · 29/02/2016 15:19

I came off the pill in December, had a withdrawal bleed & then it took almost 7 weeks to have another period. 5 weeks has passed since then so I think its just my body getting back to normal so I don't want to waste a pregnancy test. But will definitely take a test when I have to!

wispaxmas · 29/02/2016 14:54

Welcome, bippers, good luck! I was nowhere near ready to TTC when DD was 1 - even now I'm thinking we should really wait until June when she's 2. For the hell of it with all this due date talk I've worked out that if FF is right about my predicted schedules (could be off by 1-2 days as it currently has my cycles on 28 days and they're sometimes 29) - If we really start TTC in May as currently planned EDD would be 1 Feb, but if we waited until June to TTC we would be due in March and have my ideal mat leave Grin.

Definitely overthinking this, though, so will just keep being relaxed and if it happens before then so what.. And if it DOESN'T happen by June I'll probably start temping and following SMEP like a crazy person. DH won't know what's hit him, LOL.

wispaxmas · 29/02/2016 14:44

OMG, highhopes, how have you not tested when you're already a week late? Or do you have an irregular cycle?

raddersmrs · 29/02/2016 13:38

Highhopes how are you managing not to test if you are late?! That's willpower Smile

HighHopes16 · 29/02/2016 10:10

Morning all,

Might be getting my hopes up but I am a week late, have sore nipples & a bloated belly !
Got a night out in a couple of weeks so going to try and hold out testing till then if I haven't come on! eeeek!

Wheresmybippers · 29/02/2016 09:31

Vanilla my dd was born at 36+2 due to pre-eclampsia so I'm wondering if I need to take a month off any potential due date workings!

Vanillaradio · 29/02/2016 09:00

For me, because due to my diabetes dc will be born at 38 weeks at the latest (ds only made it to 37+4 as I had preeclampsia) I have to take 2 weeks off the due date every time (not that i'm already looking at the calendar working out due dates or anything like that!!!!)
Still trying to decide whether official ttc will start in April or May. Just wish I knew how long it will take!

TheresaMarie55 · 29/02/2016 07:48

Best way to do it! When we where ttc our daughters I didn't use opks or temp or anything. Just made sure we dtd plenty lol. Understand for some though it's not always as simple as that x

raddersmrs · 29/02/2016 07:11

I just looked on the Internet of how to work out due date to be honest because I was just counting 9 months from conception and that's obviously completely wrong!

I am due to ovulate mid March .. Around 14th maybe.
I'm not going to do opks I'm just going to try a Dtd every other day this Month

TheresaMarie55 · 29/02/2016 05:43

Also, because I'm very regular I've been able to work out due dates from date of conception in the past instead of date of last period. X

TheresaMarie55 · 29/02/2016 05:39

Ah right, think it's coz I'm set to ovulate late March whereas you would be early March. Makes sense now. I worked it out that if I was regular and co conceived March (would ovulate between 30th march and 1st april) I'd be due around 30th December! Not ideal as all it would take is being a few days early and I'd give birth Christmas day. I wouldn't be as bothered but don't want to be in hospital on Christmas instead of with my other children. I've given birth 10 days early and 5 days late so no idea what will happen next time. X

raddersmrs · 28/02/2016 22:20

I've basically counted 40 weeks from the first day of my last period which is how to work out due date. It can 37 - 42 weeks though.

So first day of AF would be 27th February - 40 weeks would be 3rd December due date conceiving in March. Even if I'm two weeks late it will be 18th December so not around Christmas.

If waited until next cycle due date would be 1st January if AF is regular

Wheresmybippers · 28/02/2016 22:20

Hi, can I join in?!
I've not read the whole thread but you all look very organised! I've not even got round to taking folic acid yet even though there's some in my cupboardBlush
Anyways dh and I ttc #2 VERY casually. Dd is turning 1 next month and we're on our 2nd month "trying" but he works long hours and I'm exhausted so averaging once a month here!
Ovulated a week or so ago and dtd 2 days beforehand so it's always possible. Feeling v run down so thought I'd hop on board and symptom spot away - nails and skin suddenly gone to pot, LOTS of discharge, sore tummy, spotted around ovulation, had a NAP today... A nap!!! And have been in bed before 11 the last few nights. Most of all I have a sore throat (my first symptom with dd).
We want a small age gap but I had a hard pregnancy with dd so I'm a bit nervous.

TheresaMarie55 · 28/02/2016 21:09

Have I worked it out wrong? I worked out that if we conceived late March we would be due Christmas time. One of the reasons we're waiting for April to ttc. I will come off the pill April 15th so earliest I could conceive is around 29th. Means a January baby right? X

themightymoosh · 28/02/2016 21:00

Wispa, a couple of my friends do the same with their xmas day babies. Family give vouchers for presents so they can buy gifts in the summer. Works for them!

themightymoosh · 28/02/2016 20:43

Haha! Glad I'm not the only one! Grin

raddersmrs · 28/02/2016 19:39

Wispa, I've never heard of anyone doing that before!

I just want AF to go now so I can get down to it .... I think this is going to be a slow week and month. Do people find time goes slower when counting down the days ttc? I'm not looking forward to my first tww... I'm such an impatient person! I'm going to try and not symptom spot... She says now.

wispaxmas · 28/02/2016 19:25

Haha, sausage, don't worry, we will keep you grounded, or try Anyways.

The best thing I ever heard about the TWW was that any symptom you could possibly have that early in pregnancy is identical to symptoms of oncoming AF, so there is really no point of symptom spotting. I totally condone early testing, though Grin

wispaxmas · 28/02/2016 19:23

A good friend had her LB on Christmas Day a few years ago, but they celebrate his birthday on June 25th!

Sausagema · 28/02/2016 17:10

One fertile window, ONE and I am symptom spotting like a mad person. I think I have cramps FIVE days after when I think I ovulated. I more likely just have wind! Oh this relaxed thing will not go well! Next month is out for us as I think OH is away when I'm fertile.

raddersmrs · 28/02/2016 15:27

It will drive me crazy Alice but just thinking of the little one in the long run really knowing people with birthdays on or very close to christmas. I know it's not end of the world if it does happen and it's more important to have a healthy baby irrelevant of when they're born but with my cycles there's a high chance it would be Christmas Day so I'm just thinking one month off won't hurt. Hopefully I may have a positive before then. That means catching first cycle trying though!

AliceScarlett · 28/02/2016 14:19

Ooo lots of people starting or nearly ready to start, exciting Smile

Stumbly I'll happily take a bmi point off your hands, just one thoughWink Good to hear it is possible to upduffed without dtd 5 times+ in a FW, logically I know it only takes one.

I can't imagine taking a month off ttc incase it was a xmas baby, fair play, I'm just Far to impatient Confused

Sienna9522 · 28/02/2016 12:51

Hi Wispa,

I know the feeling all too well, I've lost weight in the past and after achieving my goal found myself slipping back into my old ways, I love cake Grin. Hopefully this time I will be able to maintain it and not put on too much weight during pregnancy. In saying that, I'm not going to restrict myself too much because it makes me miserable.

Just waiting patiently for my coil removal appointment now. Very excited to start Smile
