Relaxed TTC Feb/March/April 2016

Hi,

We've just agreed to start TTC #1 in March so just starting to look at preparing for that - prenatal vitamins, losing some weight, etc.

I'm 33 and have only been with my OH for just over a year but we're both sure this is the relationship for us...we'll be getting married but want TTC as a priority and fit any wedding around Mother Nature.

Not planning any temp checking or charting or such like....maybe I'll change my mind if I'm not preggers after six months or so!

Anyone planning TTC about the same time and want to keep in touch on this thread for relaxed catch ups about preparing and then TTC?

Glamorous office restroom photo. Is this what I think it is? Or am I just confused in my effort to get out of the toilet before it's so long it looks suspicious?

Also pulled a chair up! X

Good luck! Don't be too sad if it's a BFN though, you'd be very lucky to be preggers in the first month!

I'm in the same position as Mango, on day 30 of a 28 day cycle, and not a single symptom of my period (usually I get cramps, etc, for a couple of days beforehand). I only noticed this, of course, after I went to the loo this morning, so now I'm at my small office with a pregnancy test in my bag. I keep telling myself the chances are very low, we only DTD once, probably too early for ovulation (day 11-12), but I'm going to be thinking about it until I can test at lunchtime!

AliceScarlett · 19/01/2016 10:05

Same! I'm like, oh I feel ever so slightly nauseous, I wonder.... Lol, ridiculous. 2ww is more frustrating than I thought.

stumblymonkey · 19/01/2016 09:15

Kidney infections are horrid....glad you're starting to feel better Theresa.

I'm desperately trying not to symptom spot considering we only DTD once during the right time and it's waaaaaay to early to have symptoms but of course I can't help it. Have been crazy bloated for the past 3 days and a tiny bit queasy yesterday...most likely I ate something weird though! Grin

Hope everyone is well and those going through the 2ww are keeping busy so it goes fast! I've been ill with a kidney infection but much better now. Almost at the end of my January pills, five more to go! Then I only have two or three packs (Still not 100%) to go and it will be ttc time! X

Nimisha · 17/01/2016 13:35

I'm the main earner in my family (dh have a new business and isn't actually making a profit yet) so money is an issue. I need to save up loads to be able to have 6 months maternity leave and certainly won't be able to have any more than 6 months.

I'm 36 though so I don't want to leave it too long though just in case.

AliceScarlett · 17/01/2016 08:04

Good luck Mango!

Pointless I was exactly the same, especially on the actual day I didn't start contraception this month, but it passed quite quickly.

MoodyOne · 16/01/2016 22:47

Ohh good luck mango! I have everything crossed X

Pointlessfan · 16/01/2016 21:45

Good luck mango!
I'm wavering now the time to start ttc is close, worried about money mainly.

mangocoveredlamb · 16/01/2016 21:12

I'm leaving it at least 3 days. AF should have arrived by then!

stumblymonkey · 16/01/2016 20:57

Blimey mango...will wait with crossed fingers to see what the outcome is...will you test soon?

Wow! Everyone has been doing well with weight loss, healthy living etc!
Welcome new people.
I'm stuck waiting for my period to end before the er...action can begin!

mangocoveredlamb · 16/01/2016 18:49

Hi all,

I'm also on a health kick, I've had a ad back for the last year after falling down stairs, so I want to get my core strength back a bit!

I'm three days late though, and even though we only DTD once I'm secretly dreaming about being pregnant!

stumblymonkey · 16/01/2016 18:05

Welcome Nimisha!

I don't drink much anyway but have promised myself a drink when I get my period....that way I'll have something to look forward to even if I don't get a BFP.

"Shit...no BFP but at least I can crack open this prosecco!"

Hi Theresa thanks - i think I'll do something similar. I'm trying to lose a few lbs and staying off booze always helps me with that so no harm abstaining but I think it'd be nice to be able to have a glass of wine the odd time. I know they say that even if you've had a drink and find out afterwards that you are pregnant that it's going to be fine, but would prefer not to chance it!

TheresaMarie55 · 16/01/2016 12:01

Hi lemon, I stopped drinking completely as soon as I came off the pill with my second, was going to again this time but have decided not to. I'm coming off the pill either at the end of March or mid April. My cycles are normally the same each month so pretty easy to track when I'm ovulating etc. I'll be avoiding drinking during the 2ww each month but if say we are at a family do during my totm or the days following and I fancy a drink I will have one. I don't normally drink at home but do like a drink at a party or wedding etc. x

Lemon27 · 16/01/2016 10:10

Hi all, so I'll be finished my second last pill pack next week so will be coming off the pill around the start of March. Hoping to have a month or 2 to kinda assess my 'normal' cycle and then going to 'start'. We've agreed to not exactly try but not prevent for a few months and see where we are.

We've a 2 week holiday booked in May so in our heads that's our official start date. I've been on a health kick now the past few weeks, have swapped to green tea from normal tea and coffee and find I'm sleeping much better.

Are you all going to abstain from drinks around the times of any possible BFPs? I am just thinking I've a few things coming up and if I don't drink eyebrows will be raised (not that I would care about that) but at the same time don't want to live like a monk if I don't have to.

Felipa · 16/01/2016 09:43

Mega jealous those who are in their 2ww already but good luck!!

Only 6-7 weeks for us to wait woo hoo.

Have managed to cut down slightly on caffeine (swapping my morning espresso for tea and then instead of strong coffee the rest of the day have been drinking half caff stuff).

Going out for a long-planned dinner tonight and will have a few drinks but no more than 3.

Nimisha · 16/01/2016 09:23

Hi everyone can I join?

After a couple of years of deliberating I finally decided and persuaded DH to try for number three, only one problem, my coil is stuck! I've had two attempts at removing it in the family planning clinic and scan to check it still there (it is) but no joy.

I'm waiting for a hospital appointment which is not until March! So just concentrating on getting healthy. I'm doing a caffeine free experiment (only meant to cut down but I thought I'd see how I felt off the caffeine) and cutting down on alcohol. Intermittently taking vitamins (keep forgetting). Trying to track my cycles but add it's a mirena coil they are a bit all over the place.

Feeling a bit in limbo. With my first I just came off the pill, went for it and conceived in the first month. Feel like I can't even start but it seems there are a few people in the same situation.

Vanillaradio · 16/01/2016 08:56

Those first times without protection are really odd aren't you they. Good luck Alice and Stumbly and hi Moody you are definitely not crazy, you sound perfectly normal to me!
My appointment went really well! The consultant is happy with my control and my hba1c is 6.9 which is lower than when I got pregnant with ds! So he is happy for us to start trying when we are ready but would prefer me to have been on the folic acid for 2 to 3 months first. So looks like we are on for April!

stumblymonkey · 16/01/2016 08:42

Welcome Moody and yes, two days before ovulation is good.

Definitely not crazy; as soon as we made the decision I've very much wanted to get upduffed!

Without going mental with ovulation prediction kits and things...if you have a fairly regular cycle you can use an app like Pink Pad to track your periods and it will tell you roughly when you're likely to be ovulating. I've used it for a few months before even thinking about TTC just to remind myself when my period is due so it's coming in useful now...

AliceScarlett · 15/01/2016 22:27

Nah not crazy, once you get going its easy to just want it to happen quickly.

Yup about 2 days before ovulation is a good time, those swimmers can hang around a bit waiting for the egg Smile
