Relaxed TTC Feb/March/April 2016

Hi,

We've just agreed to start TTC #1 in March so just starting to look at preparing for that - prenatal vitamins, losing some weight, etc.

I'm 33 and have only been with my OH for just over a year but we're both sure this is the relationship for us...we'll be getting married but want TTC as a priority and fit any wedding around Mother Nature.

Not planning any temp checking or charting or such like....maybe I'll change my mind if I'm not preggers after six months or so!

Anyone planning TTC about the same time and want to keep in touch on this thread for relaxed catch ups about preparing and then TTC?

Thanks to Jenny and pointless....sorry you're both having a hard time health wise.

Cateroo, Alice & Felipa...I'm on CD 7 today so looks like we're all within a few days of each other!

I finished AF on Sat so, as of this morning, we have started DTD every other day now until about CD16.

We've started quite early but I had two unwanted pregnancies when I was younger due to undiagnosed bipolar disorder and I know both times I conceived in the few days after AF so I might ovulate a bit earlier than the average and want to cover all bases. DP is definitely not complaining!

Yes, unfortunately I was prescribed a lot of them for an injury last year so I guess that explains the ulcer!

AliceScarlett · 02/02/2016 15:32

Savage pointless ulcer's are nasty :( Did he tell you to avoid NSAIDS?

Pointlessfan · 02/02/2016 15:26

Hope you're ok jenny.
I went to the doctor's today as I'm poorly. Based on my symptoms he asked if I was pregnant! He agreed it would be too early to tell though and after further questioning and examination thinks I have a stomach ulcer! Have tablets to take now, I've been in agony last 24 hours so I hope they work!

Felipa · 02/02/2016 11:42

jenny Hope you're ok and that things have settled a bit now.

I have become slightly obsessed with the Ovia app, even though it isn't showing anything exciting for me at the minute!

Vanillaradio · 02/02/2016 11:01

Jenny, sorry you are going through that. I know how frustrating it is to want to ttc and not be able to, give yourself and dh a little time and hopefully it will come back round.
Well I've been very annoyed as af was 4 days late. I'm rarely late and knew I was not likely to be pregnant as barely dtd and only with protection. But ended up testing anyway, obviously bfn and af arrived this morning. Hoping af is not going to start playing up when we're nearly ready to start trying!

AliceScarlett · 01/02/2016 18:15

Sounds really horrible Jenny :( You never know things might shift relatively quickly and you and DH might decide that it is the right time soon. I know how frustrating it is to wait, but I'm glad I did, sometimes things need to settle and when they do the whole process might be much more exciting and less anxiety provoking.

thisisbloodyridiculous · 01/02/2016 15:39

jenny so sorry to hear you're having a hard time at the moment. I can imagine how you're feeling FlowersChocolate

Cateroo · 01/02/2016 13:02

I'm currently CD 9!

jennymac31 · 01/02/2016 10:53

Glad to hear everyone is getting into healthy regimes etc in preparation for ttc!

Think I'm going to be putting ttc on hold for a while. Still having to see doctors/nurses about my hernia scar, which is still quite tender. Also had a massive argument with dh over the weekend and think he's now reluctant to ttc at the moment.

Feeling incredibly frustrated at the moment😭

AliceScarlett · 01/02/2016 10:07

I'm CD4 :)

Felipa · 01/02/2016 09:15

Wooohoo it's finally February!

Today is my first day of being super healthy, had my last drink at the weekend, am going to exercise at least 3 times this week, and have ordered the ov tests and pg tests from Amazon. Just need to buy some vitamins today.
Am on cycle day 6. Any buddies to join me?

Pointlessfan · 01/02/2016 08:00

I would like a November baby too. I don't really want a December baby because of their birthday getting lumped in with Xmas! Would be delighted with a baby whenever they were born though obviously!
Saw our new nephew yesterday. 2 weeks old, he's so tiny and sweet. Broody!!!

thisisbloodyridiculous · 31/01/2016 21:41

Just ordered some FRER from amazon. Got to be prepared!Blush

Cateroo · 31/01/2016 21:31

I've set my heart on a November baby - I keep saying to my husband how far along I hope to be by various dates this year! He's been looking at car seats in the Argos catalogue today!

thisisbloodyridiculous · 31/01/2016 21:29

Welcome! I am taking seven seas trying for a baby but only managed to get OH to commit to taking a regular multi vitamin..!

I'm excited to get my last withdrawal bleed from the pill over and done with so we can get cracking DTD Grin it should start tomorrow!

I'm daydreaming about a November baby at the moment. But whoever said it's the not knowing that's frustrating is right! Such an important thing and you don't know if or when it will happen Confused

ButtonTum · 31/01/2016 21:23

I have a bathroom cabinet full of op tests and PTs too, sitting waiting. Gah! Going to start getting ready so I'm all over every moment of my cycle. So exciting.

mangocoveredlamb · 31/01/2016 21:20

Yes he is button, but possibly because we both took them last time too!

AliceScarlett · 31/01/2016 21:16

Never too early to stock up :) my Internet cheapie PT's came the day before I was due to test...although that was probably not a bad thing.

Also terrified that nothing will happen. Think I'll be ok until I get to ten months, after that I'll start freaking out.

ButtonTum · 31/01/2016 21:14

Mango is he happy to take them? I have gone with buy first, feed later! Can't hurt!

mangocoveredlamb · 31/01/2016 21:08

My DH is popping the Wellman!

I'm exactly the same Button, I know it won't happen straight away, but I can't stop thinking about what it'll be like if we do!

ButtonTum · 31/01/2016 20:56

I've done the double whammy and gone and bough wellman conception and pre-seed too. Premature much!? I guess it's never too early 😬

RaeSkywalker · 31/01/2016 20:44

Hi Button, I'm on the Pregnacare and am also terrified of noting happening!!

ButtonTum · 31/01/2016 20:26

Hi everyone, can I join?
We've decided to ttc from April after our "last big holiday". I'm 33, DH is 34 & this will be our first.
I started taking pregnacare pre conception vitamins in December and watching ovia like a hawk! Very easy to get carried away with all the literature. I keep imagining that as we're starting to try in April that I have this magical date of January and we'll have a baby - but I know that in reality that is so unlikely! I'm terrified to think that it won't happen at all, the not knowing I think is going to be the hardest part.
Looking forward to chatting to you all.

AliceScarlett · 31/01/2016 19:18

I really need to exercise more, just SO lazy Confused

I've decided to set myself a longer term goal of being pregnant by July. It feels like ages away, but its only 6 months and I think that will stop my obsessing in the short term. If July comes and I'm still not upduffed I'll deal with the emotional fall out then. But at least I'm giving myself some leeway and taking the pressure off.
