Relaxed TTC Feb/March/April 2016

Hi,

We've just agreed to start TTC #1 in March so just starting to look at preparing for that - prenatal vitamins, losing some weight, etc.

I'm 33 and have only been with my OH for just over a year but we're both sure this is the relationship for us...we'll be getting married but want TTC as a priority and fit any wedding around Mother Nature.

Not planning any temp checking or charting or such like....maybe I'll change my mind if I'm not preggers after six months or so!

Anyone planning TTC about the same time and want to keep in touch on this thread for relaxed catch ups about preparing and then TTC?

wispa hope you are feeling better soon Flowers

When is AF due stumbly?

stumblymonkey · 14/02/2016 14:03

Wispa....what a bad influence you are!!!

ShockShockShock

I'm trying to hold out until AF is due but I have some internet cheapie sensitive tests and know I probably won't make it another week without testing.

wispaxmas I think he's looking at it as this amazing research project. He really likes to find the best travel route, hotel etc so being able to look at Which? recs for prams, car seats, baby monitors, etc is basically his dream come true. It's nice as I think there is a tendency for the woman to be super invested and the husband to be a bit checked out so its a nice balance.

wispaxmas · 14/02/2016 13:40

Fuckoff, welcome! I'm ttc#2 as well, but not REALLY trying until May.

Fertility friend reckons O will be Tuesday, but I've got a horrendous cold and H is off to Paris for work tomorrow. I think we're out this month, though we did dtd a couple days ago it's really a long shot as I am feeling total crap.

By May he won't be travelling so much for work, so will definitely put in a bit of effort then!

wispaxmas · 14/02/2016 13:36

Stumbly, if I was you I'd get a superdrug or frer and test tomorrow. 10dpo and you could easily get a bfp if this was your cycle. Am I a bad influence?

FuckOffDavid · 14/02/2016 12:02

Can I join please?

Age 25
TTC #2
Conceived #1 first cycle accidentally
First cycle
Cycle day 13 so in fertile window according to Ovia

Have horrendous tonsillitis just now but managed to DTD last night and hopefully tonight.

stumblymonkey · 14/02/2016 10:54

I'm now 9dpo.

Trying very hard not to symptom spot...but...I still am a little. Have had a fair amount of pelvic cramping, a little bit of nausea and a tiny amount of breast tenderness.

I still don't think I'm upduffed though, probably psychosomatic!

Also in 2ww, am 5dpo today and just trying to keep myself busy. By mid week I will be going mad and ripping open the early tests lol.

TheresaMarie55 · 13/02/2016 22:09

Six pills left in this packet and then just two packs to go. I didn't think it would but it's going so fast now! Not long at all until I'll be on the ttc boat with you guys Grin . Making me even more determined to shift this weight, given me such a boost! X

TheresaMarie55 · 13/02/2016 22:07

Hope the 2ww isn't to slow guys! X

Cateroo · 13/02/2016 21:12

You're absolutely right - logical brain agrees! I'm going to wait until Thursday. But then I'm not responsible for my actions :)

wispaxmas · 13/02/2016 21:06

Cat, Shock

There's absolutely no point in testing until at least 8dpo- after ovulation it will take at least a few days for the egg to travel to the uterus and even then it can hang around for a couple days, and only then when it implants will hcg rise. And if your base level is 5 and it doubles every 48 hours it'll still then be another few days before a + will show on a sensitive test.

mangocoveredlamb · 13/02/2016 21:01

Quick do something distracting Cateroo!

Cateroo · 13/02/2016 20:50

Today I'm 4 dpo - I can't start testing. I mustn't start testing. MUST NOT.

wispaxmas · 13/02/2016 18:29

dynia, that's really sweet, actually. My h wanted to start a family, but he has never been interested in any baby stuff. I have to say I'm glad he never took an interest in prams, though, because it meant I could get the one I had my heart set on. Grin

dynia · 13/02/2016 13:34

The lupus can lead to more temperature fluctuations (ie. more likely to run a temp) but we shall see.

My husband is fairly broody - I'm afraid he's been interrogating his colleagues with kids about prams, nurseries and car seats. Their eyes all go to my tummy when they see me.

TheresaMarie55 · 13/02/2016 11:07

Yeah, using mfp at the moment. I already weigh less now than I did when I fell pregnant with both girls. Am aiming for 18lbs in 9 weeks (2lb a week) and then I'll only be 5lb off goal. I'm gonna carry on with mfp when I come off the pill but as soon as I get my bfp I'll follow slimming world. With their diet I can still eat plenty and all the good stuff baby needs but will hopefully gain minimal weight x

redstrawberries101 · 13/02/2016 09:50

Thanks Alice! Just ordered them.

Theresa well done you. I would love to lose a stone but my weight just isn't budging. Regardless of eating habits. I think the bigger thing for me personally is exercise. I lead a very sedentary life (I had surgery a few years ago and had my pancreas spleen removed) and it leaves me exhausted.

wispaxmas · 13/02/2016 09:48

cheeky, sorry for your loss Sad. Good luck, though, I hope not thinking too much about it does the trick and you're pg again soon!!

wispaxmas · 13/02/2016 09:46

Theresa, exciting plan, good luck with the 10lbs! I'm aiming for roughly 15lbs in 3 months, which will get me to pre-baby weight from my first. I'm not going to stop when we TTC, though, I assume you won't be either.

AliceScarlett · 13/02/2016 08:40

Ah my emojis looked better before MN changed them once I posted them.

AliceScarlett · 13/02/2016 08:37

Thanks Marshpillow nice to know I'm not alone.

Theresa 10lbs in 9 weeks is doable :) good luck with it. Do you track your intake? I like myfitnesspal. Never knew how calorific peas were!

redstrawberries101 · 13/02/2016 08:35

Hi everyone! Not posted in ages. I'm just waiting for AF to finish (my first after miscarriage) so hoping to get back in the saddle straight after. Just going to take it easy for a couple of months and not prevent but not actively try. If it happens it happens and if it doesn't I'll just carry on with health eating/ getting my body stronger.

Can anyone send me a link to the cheap hpt from amazon?? Grin

TheresaMarie55 · 12/02/2016 21:35

Sorry to hear some of you, or more your husbands, are feeling the pressure a little. After a few weeks/months I'm sure they will be more than happy for you to be asking for it Wink .

I'm still lurking lol, although I must admit February seems to be flying by and I have quite a bit planned for March already so I think before I know it my pills will be finished!

I have 10lbs left to lose until I'm at the weight I said I wanted to be at before ttc. Promised myself I wouldn't come off the pill until I'd hit that weight. 9 weeks until I take the last pill (eek that's not so long!) So very confident I'll be at that weight. I still have 23lb until I'm at my goal weight but will come off the pill as long as I lose another 10lb. x
