Relaxed TTC Feb/March/April 2016

Hi,

We've just agreed to start TTC #1 in March so just starting to look at preparing for that - prenatal vitamins, losing some weight, etc.

I'm 33 and have only been with my OH for just over a year but we're both sure this is the relationship for us...we'll be getting married but want TTC as a priority and fit any wedding around Mother Nature.

Not planning any temp checking or charting or such like....maybe I'll change my mind if I'm not preggers after six months or so!

Anyone planning TTC about the same time and want to keep in touch on this thread for relaxed catch ups about preparing and then TTC?

nim I think I paid for VIP membership for 3 months last time after my trial ended and fell the first month of that! I think the only extra thing I paid attn to was the traffic light system, but I've been charting without VIP this time around and don't feel the need to cough up for extras.

wispaxmas · 17/02/2016 22:05

alice, that's interesting, I didn't know the pill effected CM like that. If you really did want to be sure of when you ovulate you could always temp, but I know it's not for everyone.

thisisbloodyridiculous · 17/02/2016 21:40

SoozC omg I've had the same thing all day! Didn't know how to describe it to DH but a pressing sort of sensation is exactly right! Hope it is a sign for you Smile

thisisbloodyridiculous · 17/02/2016 21:39

stumbly Expecting Better is really good I read it just after we decided to start TTC Grin

Alice I know how you're feeling. I'm frustrated with not knowing what's going on with my ovulating post pill! Feel like it just makes the whole thing much more confusing!

SoozC · 17/02/2016 21:26

I've had a dull lower abdomen ache most of today. I don't think it's an AF symptom because I get my AF stomachache the day before, quite bad. This is just...a pressing-type feeling below my bellybutton. But still no CM.

Fx for people who are testing soon.

stumblymonkey · 17/02/2016 21:16

The book sounds interesting...might invest in that and I've also heard 'Expecting Better' is a good one for actual pregnancy.

I need to start taking more notice of what's going on with my CM.

I have some creamy CM today which can he a symptom if it's in the run up to AF but I definitely don't feel preggers so I think it's just playing with me!

Welcome new people :)

I've just finished reading "Taking charge of your fertility" highly recommend it. Makes me cross I thought relying on Ovia was a good idea, I didn't realise that charting CM was a primary fertility sign and this ov'ing on day 14 thing is a myth.
It also spoke about coming off hormonal contraception and how much that can impact your first few cycles. I'm charting CM everyday and getting confused about it when I'm not actually having a "normal" cycle yet really, 2nd cycle off BC in 15 years! The book says the pill can cause CM to be scant, overly creamy or create multiple patches of EWCM regardless of ovulation....I don't know when I'm ovulating yet, need to accept that.

On that note we have dtd with swimmers 3 times (twice without, DH never gets precum) this month and I'm having a good symptom spot today. No idea how many dpo I am or even if I have ov'd but my nipples are super sensitive and I'm SO bloated, also been getting up twice a night to wee....probably nothing but impossible to tell, I don't know what my body is like off contraception yet. Need to accept that! Tolerate uncertainty.

Pointlessfan · 17/02/2016 19:23

Welcome newcomers!
I think I'm ovulating, about 5 days earlier than I'd calculated. Thinking about it I think this has been the case for the last couple of cycles but I just stuck with the dates.

SoozC · 17/02/2016 09:42

Welcome, Feta!

Stumbly, I think we're cycle twins. My AF also due in about 5 days and I do SW! Lost 6 1/2 lbs since beginning of the year. I haven't had many other symptoms, or else I think I'm imagining them.

Wispa - I'm still having normal coffee at home once or twice a day but drinking decaf from coffee shops and at work because I drink A LOT!

In other news, my cm seems to have dried up. So I think I'm going to be out this cycle :( Not going to poas until Friday or even Saturday if I can hold out!

Nimisha · 17/02/2016 09:34

I'm still waiting to have my coil out, got an appointment at the hospital mid March but as I've had two failed attempts I don't know if I will have to wait longer for a procedure or something.

I'm using fertility friend in the mean time to chart my cycle. I like it better than Ovia but I'm getting to the end of my free trial and I don't know whether to stump up for VIP membership. Anyone get any tips to get it cheaper?

mangocoveredlamb · 16/02/2016 22:42

Helping not balling. I'm going to bed, these typos are killing me!

mangocoveredlamb · 16/02/2016 22:42

I'm 5 dpo here. Reminding myself that I'm supposed to be relaxed is balling with the symptom spotting.
I have terrible terrible heartburn, which was an early symptom for me with DD, but I suspect it's more to do with the large cupcake I had at lunch (having previously given up sugar since Christmas!)

mangocoveredlamb · 16/02/2016 22:40

I honk?!? Oh god I meant I think!

mangocoveredlamb · 16/02/2016 22:40

I honk you're right wispa, isn't that how non identical twins happen?

wispaxmas · 16/02/2016 22:00

I feel silly and like I'm just spouting random facts, but I think I heard of a study recently that showed that a woman CAN ovulate twice in one cycle, but I think it's within 24 hours or something. Crazy.

stumblymonkey · 16/02/2016 21:59

No further news on my side really. Caved and used an Internet early detection cheapie today which was a very definite BFN.

Four or five days until AF is due. Not feeling at all pregnant and just have a feeling nothing will happen until I shift some of my masses of extra weight. I sort of think it would be a miracle to get pregnant hoiking this much extra weight around.

Started SW this evening at my first meeting so excited to start seeing the number on the scales coming down!

sooz and vanilla caffeine is one of those things that actually isn't as bad as we're told! Clinical studies actually suggest having up to 3-4 cups of coffee a day will have no effect on a foetus.

Cateroo · 16/02/2016 21:02

Chin up Felipa - only a week to go..... Confused

Felipa · 16/02/2016 20:52

I'm 7dpo too and unfortunately am in a bad mood today. Fed up, tired and irritable. Almost feels like PMT, that's all I need!!

Cateroo · 16/02/2016 18:52

Well I'm now 7 dpo which is early early doors. I have cramps on lower abdo, I am peeing approximately every 90 minutes, sore throat, yesterday I had a sharp pain through left hip (not sciatica - I get that already). Honestly not symptom spotting at all - but basically I feel rough as hell and if this isn't related I'd like it to kindly do one!

As for my position in the family - this'd be the first my side and second husband's side. My father would be sick with excitement, otherwise everyone is a calm old bunch.

Leta86 · 16/02/2016 15:21

Hello, just to let you know I'm joining the boat. 30, TTC#1, PCOS, finally directed to fertility clinic (15 months and no luck :( ) so here we go... [baby dust] to you all... :)

Avriljen · 16/02/2016 15:11

Thanks alice hadn't really thought about that, makes me feel a bit better! Although if I am lucky enough to be pregnant by then then I'll need to just take a sick bag!

I had 2 lots of EWCM last cycle as well, it sent ovia crazy! I'm not sure what it means, surely you can't ovulate twice?

InspectorPenguin · 16/02/2016 14:52

Hi everyone, an additional recruit!

Age: 35
TTC: #1
Cycle: 1

My boyfriend and I have only been together for a year but we made the snap decision last week to start trying now I've finished my pack of pills.

It seems out of the blue but we're both very sure of our future together and after a lifetime of feeling very unsure about kids (especially after a previous failed marriage on my side) it just suddenly felt the most obvious and natural thing to do! Grin

We're both very excited although realise that my age and the fact I've been on the pill for 17 years will very likely mean it takes a while to conceive. God knows if my ovaries even remember what they're supposed to do!!

We're trying to be as relaxed as possible about it so apart from folic acid and some conception vitamins we're not doing anything else - besides plenty of time in bed :)

I look forward to hearing your stories and lots of happy BFP posts x

AliceScarlett · 16/02/2016 14:16

OK I'm confused, CD19, 2nd patch of EWCM. WTAF.

AliceScarlett · 16/02/2016 14:15

A fertilised egg doesn't even implant for 5-8 days after conception so pre ov you will be fine :) even after ov the blood supply is not connected to the little blastocyte for a while.
