Join us. It's a boat. Full of okp's and symptom spotting and insanity! But also much love and support! We were supposed to start next month, we already have a few bfp's! Our dps don't know what's hit them!

bubbles you just reminded me to get some folic acid Grin Dh has literally just gone to the doctors, as he was walking out the door I went "ooh, get me some folic acid from the chemist will you please?" He grins and goes "I know what that's for! Haha! You can't fool me!" I told him it's better to take it pre-conception as well as the first months as it helps! And off he went with a spring in his step! Slowly slowly catchy monkey and all that! Haha Xmas Grin

Woo shiny new thread!
My stats again:
Harriet
Age 28
Aiming to TTC#1 starting in Jan - one of the few still holding out from the initial thread! Nearly there now...

Feeling very cheered by all the good news from this thread already! Fingers crossed for all of you testing over the next couple of weeks!

00Bubbles00 · 14/12/2015 13:51

Pink YES - SO awkward. Thought I'd be good and start taking pre-conception vitamins so ordered a pack from Amazon. Didn't really pay attention to (i) what the package looked like and (ii) the delivery date. Error. Was merrily chatting away to a colleague when postroom guy came round with a few package for me. I opened the first box (in my defence, a big box for a small pack of tablets!) and right in the middle, face up, nicely presented in all the packaging was a pack of tablets with PRE-CONCEPTIONS VITAMINS complete with FOLIC ACID written in pink writing right across them. Cue me fighting with reams of brown paper to try to close box whilst trying to keep talking and pretending I wasn't desperately trying to cover it back up....

Pinklily1 · 14/12/2015 13:35

Purple, I'm on day 2 of my fertile window apparently, with the spike of peak fertility expected on Wednesday.

Are you using Ovia and/or OPKs?

purplesmiler · 14/12/2015 13:26

Hi all wow missed so much again after a hectic but nice weekend.

Shelb fingers crossed for you hun.

Well im on day 1 of my fertile week due to OV later in the week. Have to say had a super fun Sunday morning session think my OH may need a rest tonight lol but we will see.

Have a lovely day ladies.

BlueGirl1982 · 14/12/2015 13:25

Shelb I'll be testing on Saturday too, although I think AF will show up before then anyway...think I have convinced myself now that any 'symptoms' are either just pill withdrawal or my body just doing its hormone thing to mess with me!

With the exception of the occasional boob twinge and a 'wet' feeling (sorry, tmi!) I think my symptoms have disappeared anyway :-/

Roll on next month now!!

shelbTa · 14/12/2015 13:12

Thanks ladies, you're a good bunch.

Not going to test again until Saturday.

This TTC thing is a total head*$€%!

X

Pinklily1 · 14/12/2015 13:07

Oh bloody hell, as usual my thread hasn't refreshed so I have missed loads and cross posted!

Fingers crossed for no AF Shelb.

Bubbles i chuckled at your Amazon comment. Did you open TTC related stuff at work?!

I'm feeling really nauseous today but who knows if that means anything, unless my fertile window was actually last week and not this week!

00Bubbles00 · 14/12/2015 13:05

I get so excited by everyone else testing - I am clearly going to be completely useless when its me and start testing FAR too early!

Who is next? Runner & Shelb?

Pinklily1 · 14/12/2015 13:01

Thank Katherine. I'm going to see what this month brings and then might get them next month.

Runner, hope your return to work meeting goes ok today.

Runner05 · 14/12/2015 12:55

So who's testing in the next week? Grin

Runner05 · 14/12/2015 12:55

Lol thanks everyone. I should quantify that I actually feel fine and dandy... I just look 3 days dead!!!! Confused

LaraG13 · 14/12/2015 12:52

Stark Thanks for that - I think I will order online today. I'm the same, trying to remain nonchalant for DH but it's great to have somewhere to come and be obsessive about it in good company!

Bubbles totally agree - this forum is amazing! Totally opened my eyes!!

Shelb I'll keep fingers crossed for you still!

Runner get well soon!

I think I may be ovulating now and have a cycle of around 28 days, so not sure if that chimes with any of you.

00Bubbles00 · 14/12/2015 12:39

Exciting - new thread. Stats:
Age:33
TTC:#1
Cycle 1, CD2 (fertile days around 27/28/29...hmm....we have lots of guests with us that week...)

Shelb you're not out yet! My best friend is 6 months pregnant and the day before her positive test spent ages telling us how she had horrid cramps and AF was definitely about to appear...

LaraG13 totally with you with being new to all this. This thread has taught be A LOT over the last week - its brilliant.

SnowDog I agree - I'm paying far more attention to biology than I eve did in school!

Ni4444 we have similar timing! Other than I'm a bit unsure about what day I ovulate on usually and/or cycle lengths as haven't had time to work it out yet.

Runner hope you feel better soon!

Kath thank you for the story, all really positive. I now need an online order of OPKs - note to self - do not open Amazon packages at work from now on.

StarkyTheDirewolf · 14/12/2015 12:25

I've just had my ovulation tests arrive lara under £3 for 20 from amazon. I've been tracking my periods for a few months but this is the first cycle which I've downloaded ovia and properly tracked symptoms and cm etc. Ordered the tests thinking in for a penny, in for a pound!

Told Dh I'd ordered them, but if I'm clinical about it with him he'll get freaked out so I'm being very nonchalant and containing my baby crazy to here and ovia Xmas Grin he didn't freak out when I bought 9 pregnancy tests though so I know he's relaxing about ttc slightly.

OP posts:
LaraG13 · 14/12/2015 12:12

Starting to realise what a roller coaster this will be! Do you all track your ovulation using a kit? I just used an online calculator thing to estimate, and have started paying attention to cm but is this not very accurate? Sorry - I'm new to all of this!

StarkyTheDirewolf · 14/12/2015 11:59

Die for an ovulate? *due Grin

OP posts:
StarkyTheDirewolf · 14/12/2015 11:59

Awww runner sorry you're feeling rotten. And shelb you're not out till after shows up, don't be disheartened both. Fx for you.

I'm knackered today, but on the plus side, Dh told work no to working today, so the cars gone to the garage and we managed to do a food shop, so I'm feeling more positive and settled. Dh is knackered and this is manifesting itself as a gippy tummy! I've got what feels like a head cold coming but I shall not be swayed from dtd this week! Xmas Grin

Welcome Katherine and massive congratulations!

No problem ni Grin snow you're a few days cycle ahead of me, I'm die for an ovulate around Saturday/Sunday.

OP posts:
Runner05 · 14/12/2015 11:42

Nooooo Shelb you can't be out, you have to keep me sane lol not sure that's possible!

My cold has disappeared over night but I look like poo, does that count as a symptom?
Apart from that and slightly tender boobs my symptoms are non existent too Hmm damn you body, why will you not do exactly what I want you to?

shelbTa · 14/12/2015 11:29

Hi snow welcome!

I've got reasonably strong AF dull aches now and no other symptoms about from a reasonable amount of glue cm, 6-7dpo, AF according to ovia is in two days, thinking I might be out....

X

Snowdog37 · 14/12/2015 11:14

Ooh my opk today is definitely way darker than yesterday! Will take it again in 10 hours and see... Maybe on track for Wednesday being the big O day as predicted by Ovia! What a clever app! I also just started taking my temp as I bought a basal thermometer. My dh said I'm funny, treating this as a big science project with all the tests etc. he's happy to accommodate my mild insanity to get me knocked up though which is good Xmas Smile

Ni4444 · 14/12/2015 10:16

Snow I never got a positive opk last month but had ovulation pain, backache and ewcm on CD20. Don't get put off by the tests...they might just have missed your hormone surge. Get to know your cervical mucus!!!

Thanks for organising us Stark
Age 33
Ttc#1
Cycle 3, CD6 today. Fertile window likely to be around the 27th such a long wait!!

Welcome newbies!

Runner05 · 14/12/2015 09:37

Lara thanks, gonna test again tomorrow now.

Kath about half of us are successfully using ovulation tests bought online, they only cost about £5 for 30.
Far more practical in my opinion especially for people like me who have stupidly long hormone spikes to monitor. Confused

Katherine412 · 14/12/2015 09:14

Also it was really reassuring to know I was ovulating and I feel that if we hadn't been successful that month I could have carried on without them now as they helped me understand when my body ovulates. A couple of months on them is enough I think.

Katherine412 · 14/12/2015 09:10

Hi pinklily1

Yes we started with the regular clear blue for the first month (the cheaper one) and then used the dual hormone for the next 2 months. If you follow directions you may eek one box out to 2 cycles. I think it was around £30 but worth it for us as it worked!
