Join us. It's a boat. Full of okp's and symptom spotting and insanity! But also much love and support! We were supposed to start next month, we already have a few bfp's! Our dps don't know what's hit them!

Straky - brilliant to hear, sounds like TTC is actually helping.

Shelb - that's strong! Can positive OPKs other than at ovulation time indicate pregnancy?

if I ovulated last week, which I suspect I did, then testing date is 5 days away. Otherwise it's 15 days away. Am going to try to hold off for the later date.

shelbTa · 16/12/2015 15:39

That's a really positive post stark! Wine[santa] And glad your anxiety has got better too. I've been there , think a lot of women have.

Opk 20mlU, upduff ones 10

shelb my eyes are not deceiving me, I see two lines, have you checked the sensetivity levels between the okp and the prego strip? Well, I for one am excited for you!

runner sounds like you've turned a corner emotionally, I know I've been quite tightly wound with wanting to get a bfp, everything I've read says relaxing into ttc is the best way to go. Sounds like you've got a busy few weeks ahead, but you can do it!

I just realised this morning that in the midst of ttc madness, I'm just really lucky. I have a warm home, a comfy bed, enough good food to keep me fed, a wonderful truly Dh and a fantastic support system, and that if I did get two lines next month or whenever hence that I'd be fortunate enough to be extatic about it. I had a cbt session this morning and it dawned on me that in ttc, I was actually managing my anxiety quite well have been crippled with it for the past year . I've been genuinely happy excited about ttc, and I think it's made me let a lot of emotional baggage float away. Xmas Smile

Runner you have got a lot on, not to mention with your mum. I agree, I wasn't prepared for how overwhelming this whole thing would be in terms of obsessiveness. Are you returning to work tomorrow?

Hi mor! Don't leave us! Great to hear you are doing well. Can totally believe that about gp. Good strategy for xmas!

Speaking of obsessive, my opk from lunch....

mor your doctor seems about as much use as mine but the midwife should be better.

I think I've decided to be a bit more chilled about tcc next month. I'm just going to shag every 2 to 3 days for as much of the month as I can manage (my poor OH) and try not to think about anything else.

With any luck we'll be putting the flat up for sale next month and looking for a house and I'll be looking for a care home for mum and going back to work full time so I should have plenty to keep my mind occupied!!

Morwenna1 · 16/12/2015 12:23

Also, thought it would be useful to share some info off the notes the doc gave me today:

Multivits recommended:

  • Superdrug Pregnancy Care multivits
  • Pregnacare vits
  • Sanatogen Mum-to-be vits
  • The Haliborange baby and toddler range

NOT recommended:

  • Seven Seas Multivits
  • Health Span Multivits 50+
Not suitable for pregnant women due to the vitamin A content.

FYI I'm taking the Tesco pregnancy vits + Omega 3 capsules which the doc was happy with (also a bit cheaper than the branded ones). These don't contain vit A, so are safe.

Morwenna1 · 16/12/2015 12:19

Well, I've tried to catch up on what's been happening!! Fingers crossed for you all this month.

Had my doc's appointment, wasn't sure what to expect, but was less than impressed I have to say..no blood pressure, nothing of that nature - just a few qs about last period and taking down my details so I get free prescriptions. I had lots of Q's (well you would, wouldn't you?!) and I was told it was nice to chat, but not when I'm running late and I have 4 patients waiting (WTF) I had to wait too. Oh, and she mentioned nothing about getting a flu jab, so I've had to rebook with the nurse tomorrow...hoping when I see the midwife it will be a lot better!

Just wanted reassurance that it's normal to have days when you have no symptoms (it is I have since found out from MN!). All so new to me and I'm the sort of person that wants all the info upfront!

Bunch - from your post agggges ago, as a result of today I'm now seriously considering booking a private scan at around 8 weeks (all being well) as I'm not sure my nerves will hold out till 12. At 8 weeks they should be able to detect quite a bit (as opposed to now!)

Also, a good excuse that I will be using this Christmas is that I have been diagnosed with IBS (not that far removed from reality!) and the doctor has ordered me to cut out alcohol and caffeine completely to see if it makes a difference. So I'm not on antibiotics, but doc's orders. Also covers frequent loo visits!

Pinklily1 · 16/12/2015 12:16

Really good point Starky in amongst all of our TTC stresses.

shelbTa · 16/12/2015 09:37

Well said stark SmileWine[santa]. Oh and your OH sounds like a lucky bloke!

I can't stop burping.

StarkyTheDirewolf · 16/12/2015 09:19

Omg sooooo tired today! Was sorting and generally procrastinating last night till half 1 more fool me but then got up at half 5 to make Dh some brekkie and sort his clothes out so he didn't have to think about anything other than being out the door and driving. As a result, I've been up since and am knackered! Good job I can have a snooze this afty.

We have Christmas, so even if no bfp's this next couple of weeks then we can at least raise a glass and congratulate ourselves on starting ttc and having wishes and dreams for the new year with new baby beans!

shelb hugs at least you can enjoy the full Christmas festivities now. Hope you start to feel better.

shelbTa · 16/12/2015 08:21

Hi pink yes just click on the day and click the ovulation button again, that should do it.

Yes sickness subsiding now thanks, will see if comes back this afternoon like yesterday. Just really bad period pains, total head fuck.

Pinklily1 · 16/12/2015 08:08

Sounds like everyone is going through the mill a bit this month. I suppose we just have to hold on to the happy thought that if there aren't any BFPs this month we get to continue DTD lots and lots!

Does anyone know if you add 'ovulation' dates to Ovia, can you then delete them again? Weird question I know but I want to see how it affects my data if I assume that ovulation was last week when I had my darkest line, even though I don't think it was quite as dark as the control line. Don't want to screw everything up though!

Also, if I am on CD 20 today, why does it say 15 days to pregnancy test, if I've entered my usual cycles as 28 days? Am I being dense?

Shelb are you feeling any better?

shelbTa · 16/12/2015 07:28

Thanks ladies.

It's a BFN me for also runner, right there with you! Guna do my opk around lunch.

I felt some more sharp jabbings yesterday evening.

purplesmiler · 16/12/2015 07:23

Morning all I'm struggling to get up this morning but got a busy day work wise so must move. Getting towards my main OV days now, had fun last night DTD maybe that's why I'm feeling a bit tired today lol.

shelb & blue fingers crossed for good news you are going through the mill this month.

runner I think I need to avoid those videos too as think I could get a bit addicted.

Runner05 · 16/12/2015 07:07

I don't think I'm going to look at those pregnancy test videos. I'm already madly obsessive and I'm sure it wouldn't help! Lol

Aww Shelb you've been having a rough first month. I really hope it turns out to be for a reason.

Blue when are you testing?

Tested again today, another BFN and I don't feel pregnant anymore apart from slightly tender boobs. I think in the end my symptoms were cold related.
I also did an opk and got the same very faint line as yesterday so I'm not going to read anything into it even though I know my opk's reset to a clear blank between ovulation and now.

I will test again tomorrow when I will be between 11 & 13 dpo.

BlueGirl1982 · 16/12/2015 06:19

Shelb I feel exactly the same...went to bed last night convinced AF was on way, now I'm not so sure again, feel a bit sick but I think I'm just tired!

Keep reminding myself though that last time I came off the pill I remember feeling similar and it was nothing...but as you say, the symptoms can be the same, so unfair!!!

shelbTa · 16/12/2015 05:00

I am officially going insane ladies. I've been awake all night feeling sick and period type pains. Supposed to be going to a conference today but just don't think i can make it.

If this is just an effect of coming off the pill and hormones normalising (googling it says it can be) then bloody hell this is mean!!

X

StarkyTheDirewolf · 16/12/2015 00:08

I'm with you on some of these videos drink I want to hear a small back story, while you wee/dip then just focus the camera on the test till it saturates, cut to a minute of excitement and that's done! Grin

OP posts:
drinkyourmilk · 15/12/2015 23:28

Just folic acid. It looks like pregnancy ones add vitD.

It's probably too early to tell yet shelb. FX for the morning. You too runner .

Those pregnancy tests live videos just annoyed me, I wanted them to stop wittering and do the damn test!. You've 3 minutes to tell us how excited you are Grin

Pinklily1 · 15/12/2015 22:33

I'm just taking folic acid and vitamin d tablets.

StarkyTheDirewolf · 15/12/2015 22:17

I've only got folic acid china I was taking fish oils but Dh got worried because it said for pregnant women not to ingest on the packet, he was briefly beside himself as he was in charge of vitamins that day! Only when I told him that given that I wasn't actually pregnant yet, cod liver capsules probably wouldn't hurt our unborn baby. Grin

OP posts:
Runner05 · 15/12/2015 22:01

China as long as you're taking 400mg folic acid you should be ok but I take seven seas preconception vitamins.

Runner05 · 15/12/2015 22:00

My god, I look away for one evening and now I don't know where to begin!

Sorry it's another BFN Shelb but it's early days.

Gonna test again in the morning I'll be between 10 and 12 dpo.

Hope the rest of you are doing well and not getting too stressed with this ttc lark! Smile
