Ttc#1 THREAD 3. Some bfp's, some bfn's, cervical mucus examination class of what was supposed to be January 2016.

Join us. It's a boat. Full of okp's and symptom spotting and insanity! But also much love and support! We were supposed to start next month, we already have a few bfp's! Our dps don't know what's hit them!

I don't get those from red wine or gin thank fuck! So was out and partying again all yesterday afternoon and night... yesterday was a pinot noir day. Blush
But no drunken China. It was a looooooooong day! Grin

pink they do sound like symptoms! If I had nausea I'd be hopeful because I never get nauseous. First time I've wished to feel sick over Christmas!

stark, I also read that position and raising your bum after make no difference, but it just kind seems to make sense (Re the mooncup ) that the jizz is better in than out😄 But I know common sense and science are not the same thing...

I was frying to find some reading material to prove to Dh that I wasn't insane with the pillow under the bum thing, and apparently, all the stuff that Co es out afterwards is just the seminal fluid (dead sperm and juice blergh) , the actual sperm is already doing the journey. So don't worry too much! I was wondering how long to sit upside down etc, and for the most part, we could jump up and down on a trampoline after sex and I wouldn't make a difference to if the sperm and egg met! (I'll still be lying upside down though! Thus proving that ttc women are barking!)

I've got like, another million years to wait to test. Since ovia changed my stuff round, it's like the 12th of Jan now, not the 3rd! But this is since I've put in the 37 day average cycle (which I don't understand ) so we shall see!

I've got a few left but haven't done one since Thursday night. Might give it a go tonight but to be honest I am scared about the whole OPK thing because if it's faint I will worry it's a sign I'm not pg Sad

I think so Shelb. Still a bit unsure because of the OPK confusion and difference between apps but I had my strongest OPK on Wednesday 9 December so assuming that was ovulation this would be tww?

Why do they not teach you all this stuff in biology or sex ed, instead of the life spans of plants and all that jazz? Baby making would have been much more useful!!

I've only had two cycles off the pill Lara. First one was 34 days and last one was 28 days. I can't remember what they were like pre-pill.

I've had period like cramps since Thursday, feeling really hot in waves and also nausea most days, but I agree that its probably psychosomatic! Will wait and see.

pink mine are normally 28 days. How about you? I don't think I've had any symptoms. I keep thinking I have a slight ache in the area but I'm pretty certain it's psychosomatic/ just me noticing a normal sensation. Have you had any symptoms?

Lara, I'm not sure if there's any truth in that or not. Last time I came off the pill it took a year to start having AF again so I definitely wasn't fertile then! Thankfully AF came back straight away this time though. I've also heard similar things re fertility when TTC after miscarriage, but again I'm not sure if its an old wives tale or if theres any truth to it.

Elle and Laura, i'm pleased to have some testing buddies! Lara i think I am going to wait too. OH is very much of the view that I should only test when AF is definitely late, so am thinking of waiting until the later date (29th).

Are either of you having any symptoms?

How long are your cycles normally?

lara I have used a softcup in the past. Still did at least 30mins with my bum on the end of the bed too.

Lara most just lie with a pillow under their bum for 20mins after dtd. I have heard of people using moon cup but I'm not sure if it actually makes a difference.

I think both Shelb and I had skittle tits before our BFPs that became less annoying the closer we came to test day.

Has anyone read about or tried using a 'mooncup' after dtd to (sorry for tmi) keep all that lovely spunk near the cervix? I find a lot of it runs out when I get up and about after dtd, so find myself inclined to lay on my back for an hour which isn't always convenient. I quite like the idea of not having to worry about that and knowing the swimmers are trapped near my cervix :)

Any thoughts or wisdom?

Just peed on my last FRER. I now have a lovely dark line and I think I can stop peeing on sticks lol

Dr's appointment next Wednesday. I'm excited to be getting the ball rolling and hopefully I'll be able to book my booking in appointment. Think I'm 3+4 today so I'll only have about 4 weeks to wait and then it will only be 4 weeks to the first scan Grin not excited at all

That cake looks incredible! I am now craving cake. That's a sign of pregnancy right?!

Today's opk is possible a teensy bit darker but there's not much in it. Boobs have started hurting but I recall from the dim and distant past this is normal for me pre AF. Last month they didn't hurt at all, two months before that it was throughout the '2ww' (though we weren't trying then) and before that I was on the pill.

Ho hum. Thank God for mumsnet. OH has no idea of the madness in my head!

elle and pink I'm in sync with you both I think! Ovia says 29th to test but FF says a few days earlier. Can't decide if I want to do an Xmas day test! I'm thinking I'll wait.

Fx for some more 2015 BFPs! Pink think I'm more or less in sync with you, Ovia says to test 29th but I think I'm a few days ahead. Was thinking of testing Christmas Day then if BFN can enjoy guilt free booze, pate, cheese etc!
