Join us. It's a boat. Full of okp's and symptom spotting and insanity! But also much love and support! We were supposed to start next month, we already have a few bfp's! Our dps don't know what's hit them!

Still lol'ing at Lara's dirty talk!

KatOnATinRo0f · 20/12/2015 22:37

Yes so the more sensitive a test is the lower concentration of Chemical being tested for it can detect so technically the earlier it can detect, but also the greater chance of getting a false +ve (if I remember correctly). I think they all work though don't they (well every one I have ever p-on has correctly told me that I am NOT pg!)
I can't imagine that they are that much more ££ to produce and I think it is a ridiculous mark up. I think I shall save FR for when I really do actually think I am pg and may have had a +ve from another test (or a late AF)
I've used the sainsburys ones- didn't know if they had bad reviews ... Handy to pick em up with the weekly shopping though! I have some internet cheapies on the way mainly to indulge my increasing desire to needlessly pee on things.

StarkyTheDirewolf · 20/12/2015 22:26

runner that does make sense to me! Thank you! I was going off expected af. My cycle is a bastard! So I could technically still test early Jan. However, still have absolutely zero clue about ovulation date! I'm going to have to order some more okps for next month! I've nearly blown through 20 already! Xmas Grin

dub you're not out till you're out, sorry about the bfn but there's still time yet!

pink I think it's something to do with the sensetivity, I'm going to do some research! See if I can find some with the same levels of sensetivity for cheaper!

Welcome turner* you're definitely in the right place for crazy! Symptom spotting, piss stick waving, okp fanatics that we are! Xmas Grin

Stark you still have a 2ww. The 2ww is to 14dpo when the chemicals in your body should be high enough for you to get a BFP Smile If your still BFN by then it's very unlikely that you will get a BFP later (unless you were completely mistaken about your ovulation date)

Canters15 · 20/12/2015 22:14

Sorry about the negative dubs. I have bad AF type cramps now but still a bit too early....gonna test in the morning if she's not here!

StarkyTheDirewolf · 20/12/2015 22:07

I don't go in for any of the seduction stuff, I usually just climb on, wriggle a but and hope he wakes up for the best! I've said it before, and I'll say it again, he's lucky if I've had a wash! I'm lucky to be married Xmas Grin

Okp was very faint especially when compared with this afternoons, balls only knows, ill try and have another pop at dtd tomorrow morning if Dh agrees!

I've not told him about cm yet I will do at some point I imagine, on purpose, to gross him out! I have no test buddies! Waaaaaaaail! But then my cycle is suuuuch a long one, even if I ovulated today, I've got a 3 and a half weekweek wait instead of a 2 week wait.

Haha Lara - I haven't gone into that much detail yet with DH! Will bide my time!

LaraG13 · 20/12/2015 21:48

Why - I'm going to avoid using the 'mucus' word around OH I think! It takes dirty talk a step too far :)

LaraG13 · 20/12/2015 21:44

Welcome Turner! We'll go crazy with you!

Sorry Dubbya. Not out yet though!

ElleSarcasmo · 20/12/2015 21:41

Welcome Turner! It has been an exciting week on here, fx for more excitement next week!

Turnertime14 · 20/12/2015 21:31

Hi!
Please can I join? I've been reading behind the scenes and have been really excited (bit jealous!) about all the BFPs! We're just about to start TTC cycle 2 and it would be great to have other people to go a bit crazy with!! Hope everyone testing in the next week is as lucky as runner, stark, blue etc!!!

ElleSarcasmo · 20/12/2015 20:45

Not sure why I bought them really-went to buy the OPKs but they had sold out-should have waited!

ElleSarcasmo · 20/12/2015 20:42

Maybe I will buy a first response or 10 and keep them for emergencies! Thanks Pink. I nearly bought a shed load of internet cheapies but was put off by a few reviewers saying they had false positive results-that must be gutting Sad

ElleSarcasmo · 20/12/2015 20:40

Putting a science hat on Pink, some of the tests have a higher concentration than others of the antibody that binds HCG (the hormone you start to produce when pg), hence why the early response type tests can pick up an earlier pregnancy than the normal ones, so they probably DO cost more to produce...though no idea how much more so still quite possibly ripping off us anxious TTCers!

Pinklily1 · 20/12/2015 20:40

Elle I just happened to google them and it came up with lots of people who had had what seemed to be faulty tests. I use sainsburys OPKs though and they are fine, so who knows! You may as well use them and get a first response if necessary!

ElleSarcasmo · 20/12/2015 20:36

Grin at pre cum why, another thing not to mention to DH!

ElleSarcasmo · 20/12/2015 20:34

Oh no! Bought a sainsbury 2 pack the other day. They didn't have any 1st response. Looks like I'll be taking a trip to boots, at least the points are good!

Pinklily1 · 20/12/2015 20:19

I think a lot of the brands exploit us poor slightly insane TTC ladies Grin

Pinklily1 · 20/12/2015 20:18

Kat - it was £10.49 for a pack of two in boots. Still expensive but I wanted to have them in for testing over the Christmas period and left it too late to order online I think.

I would have got sainsburys as they are cheaper but have read a lot of dodgy things about their pg tests so I decided to steer clear!

Runner05 · 20/12/2015 20:12

You can get FRER on Amazon for £6.50 for a double pack it I think they're about £8.50 in Tesco. Going off the top of my head though Smile

KatOnATinRo0f · 20/12/2015 20:09

First response are so expensive though... About £13-£15?! Whyyyy??? It's a stick of cardboardy foamy type stuff and a bit of plastic !

Pinklily1 · 20/12/2015 20:01

Meant fmu obviously, bloody autocorrect!

I panicked and got the first response. They seem to be few and far between in the shops here and the only place I've found them is boots so thought I would invest whilst I was there!

Dubbya · 20/12/2015 19:50

Will use the other test tmrw I mean (2 in pack)

Dubbya · 20/12/2015 19:50

Ha pink I did the same but then realised I was running late so just grabbed the boots one so as not to break the bank! Used one test today so will do with fmu tmrw.

Which did you get in the end?
