We weren't supposed to start till January! But we did!
Join us as we ttc #1 after pill/contraception etc.

We've got a boat, it makes frequent stops for wine, pissy sticks, wool, slings, cake and all manner of shit we don't need yet but we buy anyway!

Name: Bubba
CD: 10
TTC Cycle: 1
Days till test: 19

And I've been pill free for just one week, not expecting a BFP this month, but you never know.

Pinklily1 · 17/11/2015 19:35

Wow, I've missed a lot. Hope everyone is well :-)

Bergmont, any more news? So exciting that there's a potential BFP!!

456hana · 17/11/2015 19:03

Can I join please?!! It has taken me the last few weeks to read through the last thread, which is getting more and more exciting!!! We have been thinking out ttc for the last 6 months, and are now planning on starting in December / January. We did nearly start to ttc a few months back, but then I got offered a new job, so decided to put it off until I was settled in. I used this sort of an excuse as I panicked a bit about having a baby. I am not totally sure I am ready to ttc, but time is not on my side, as I’m nearly 33. When I think about the reality of being pregnant and having a child I feel overwhelmed! Does anyone else feel like this?
I am sure I will get totally engrossed in the process of ttc; I have put in an order for ovulation sticks, so I can start to chart from next month!!
PS I have already planned to use re-usable nappies, which I think is a sign I am ready!

happybus28 · 17/11/2015 18:54

Exciting times runner and berg will be watching in the morning for further updates!!

No further news from me...still feel nothing!! I don't think I've ovulated yet, not had any cramps or EWCM. Only been off pill 2 weeks though so maybe I'm expecting too much too soon!

Is secret lives of 4 year olds on tonight?? Anyone know?

StarkyTheDirewolf · 17/11/2015 18:45

Ooh stats, I like it leonie

Starky, 29 years young, married 6 months, not officially ttc yet as Dh is enjoying his penis power trip, no hormonal contraception for 2 years, 5 days past wasted ovulation. Grin

OP posts:
StarkyTheDirewolf · 17/11/2015 18:41

We are in a battle of wills in jest Dh waggled his willy at me earlier and went "you need me now" and did a willy dance, mainly involving thrusting sort of like a weird penis oriented time warp I love him, but I might have to murder him, I've told him I'm going to steal his sperm in his sleep Grin I'm so lucky he appreciates my sense of humour Grin

What's catastrophe about berg ? It sounds interesting and I love a good series marathon!

leoniethelioness · 17/11/2015 18:31

New thread, woo hoo! Should we do a stats section now there are so many of us? Things like age, cycle number, where we are in our cycles, how long we've been off the pill, other stuff like that? I can't really think what might be relevant!

BergamotMouse · 17/11/2015 17:59

Starky - not got cute babies in it but I've just watched all of the last and current series of catastrophe on 4od. It's hilarious - DH has really enjoyed it too. More about pregnancy than babies though.

I've just downloaded about 4 pregnancy apps. I'll try the Ovia one now. I'm going to run out of space!

BubbaNo1 · 17/11/2015 17:49

No I have the normal Ovia... But yeah I might just take a look into Ovia Pregnancy... I haven't told anyone really that we're trying so hoping no one sees me on these apps lol

Planningtobeamum1 · 17/11/2015 17:46

Thanks runner! I may stock up on the SuperDrug ones in preparation!

I downloaded the Ovia app at the weekend and have been diligently filling it in since! I've learnt a lot about my body, just hoping that my cycles start regularising so that my FW predictions are accurate!

StarkyTheDirewolf · 17/11/2015 17:45

runner I definetly see a line there! Congratulations! Ooh I'm so pleased for you guys but also wildly jealous Grin it's so awesome though! I can't believe we've got two possible bfp already! Are we a lucky thread or what?!

Think I'm going to have to bring out the big guns later and cry real tears on Dh Grin see if I can push up this start date he's imagined! He's off work tonight, I need a programme/film with cute realistic babies in it, not obem or the like, he just winces through that! Any suggestions?

Has anyone else downloaded Ovia Pregnancy? I held off because I wasn't pregnant but if you do and enter cd 1 it will tell you what's going on in your body (implantation etc.) wish I'd downloaded it earlier Confused

Runner05 · 17/11/2015 17:27

It's a CB test so the horizontal and right hand vertical lines are control lines. It's the fainter left vertical line (across the horizontal line to make a +) that is the test line.

Planning just check the spec of any test you're thinking of using. Ideally you want it to be a pink ink one (more reliable than blue) and either 10 or 15mlu. Lots of people get internet cheapies but these usually have to be dipped in a pot of wee. I prefer poas ones, retailers like Superdrug and Boots have their own brands or you can order a pack of 2 FRER online for about £8. Wish I'd ordered more, I wasn't expecting to get quite this obsessed!!! Hmm

Morwenna1 · 17/11/2015 17:12

I was going to say Runner - that horizontal line is most definitely there!!! So that's a +ve?!!

shelbTa · 17/11/2015 17:09

Welcome back purple!

Runner - i don't understand the lines! Is there meant to be a horizontal one and vertical! Exciting!

X

Planningtobeamum1 · 17/11/2015 17:09

Wow congratulations Bergamot and Runner!

AF arrived for me on Saturday (but was only 3 days long), now counting down till my next fertile window....

Is anyone still on their tww?

I see there are some addicts experts on pregnancy tests - I managed to withhold testing last cycle (although desperately hoping AF would not arrive) but not sure I can resist this time. Any advice on good (but cheap) ones to get?

Runner05 · 17/11/2015 17:06

Mor good luck with fertile week. I wish I had your resolve regarding poas, maybe I would have if I wasn't having symptoms. The skittle tits are hard to ignore!!!

Runner05 · 17/11/2015 17:04

Ooo Dr yet another of use taking the plunge and coming off the pill. There can't be many of us still partaking of chemical contraceptives now?

Good luck, whether you decide to use other contraceptives or not it feels good to give the pill the heave ho!

Morwenna1 · 17/11/2015 17:04

Missed lots as usual!! Managed to find the next thread however! Massive Congrats to Berg and fingers crossed Runner!!! Here's hoping for you bunch Smile

Fallen off the wagon slightly due to not feeling well (head cold) but hoping to er, climb back on this month!! Not long till FW for me. Yet to piss on a stick ladies, I'm quite resolved that I won't be until I'm most definitely late. I know what I'm like! Even if it's a BFP I still will be doubting it all the way until AF.

Runner05 · 17/11/2015 17:01

Yay! Purple welcome back Brew

Sounds like you need no encouragement to get at it, well done that girl! Wink

DrWhy · 17/11/2015 16:42

Thanks Starky and EEEK!!! Exciting to Berg and Runner- I can't believe that a thread about coming off the Pill in Dec ahead of TTC next year already has 2 likely BFPs!

I am officially no longer on the pill, should have restarted after my break yesterday and didn't. I triple confirmed with DH is was OK (by FaceTime as he's still abroad) and his rather unenthusiastic answer was 'I thought we sort of already agreed that'! So I've taken that as a go ahead Blush

DH won't be back until 5th Dec so no TTC before that and I'm not sure but we might use condoms until after Christmas. I don't start my new role until 1st Jan and starting nearly a month pregnant might be a bit much. Although of course the chances are nothing would happen in the first month anyway. But it could...!

purplesmiler · 17/11/2015 16:34

Wow I go away for a long weekend (had no phone signal) and come back to some fabulous updates!

Berg huge congratulations. So exciting!
Enjoy your OJ toast tonight.

Runner fingers crossed for a positive result.

I'm currently in my fertile week according to the app. Have to say been enjoying bedroom action every day since Friday you know just to make sure we cover all bases lol.

I know next week when I am due to test I will probably get tempted a few days early. It's hard to be patient hehe.

Runner05 · 17/11/2015 16:27

Bergamot I'm so glad you got another line Smile at least you can still eat cake! WinkChocolate (they seem to have removed the cake picture)

Doing another test today would require me to open the new pack of FRER I just bought and that's not going to happen. I will wait until tomorrow now Smile

BergamotMouse · 17/11/2015 16:15

Great news about dates bunch. Really hoping they work out.

I think you should just relax tonight runner as more tests will likely just give more unanswered questions and test first thing - I know this is already your plan but bet you're itching to do 'just one more'. I will be watching from 6am!

Having said that I caved (after having an argument with myself in the bathroom about the pros and cons of testing again). Definitely a line - hopefully enough of one to convince DH. We're going to celebrate by raising a toast with some OJ tonight. Though I have dreadful heartburn so might stick to water. I can sense my social life is about to go tumbling off a cliff.
