We weren't supposed to start till January! But we did!
Join us as we ttc #1 after pill/contraception etc.

We've got a boat, it makes frequent stops for wine, pissy sticks, wool, slings, cake and all manner of shit we don't need yet but we buy anyway!

Evening all.

Bit of an update here. I've mentioned in passing before we have a history for a sparse sex life. We've had a heart to heart after rejection again and where we are now is that we are happy to not use contraception and I we get pregnant then amazing. But the added pressure of we HAVE to have sex every other day is just not going to work for DH us. I'm much happier now I know where we stand. I felt every time he said he wasn't in the mood that he was lying about wanting to TTC. Bless him he was a bit oblivious to what activity TTC actually meant.

Things have massively improved DTD wise for us. We're now at least once a week (when I'm here) but we have in the past had a 4 month dry spell but it was normally every 6 weeks. The last thing I want to do is bugger up any improvement we have there with added pressure. It will happen, but I imagine it will take time. I don't expect to get upduffed anytime soon anymore, and I'm okay with that.

Newmrs22 · 22/11/2015 16:28

Afternoon ladies. It's bloody cold!

I caved and tested yesterday afternoon. Was negative. Still no AF although felt a little crampy last night. I'm on CD31. Never wanted my period to come so much! I want to get started on the next cycle!

StarkyTheDirewolf · 22/11/2015 16:21

You do indeed runner much more of a chance! And that's why we're here, with our little boat, although I think it's more of a canal boat than a yacht, as we are all plodding along, very relaxed about ttc at the minute ha . It will happen.

Very true Stark but I hope I have more chance of getting upduffed than I do of winning the lotto!! Confused

StarkyTheDirewolf · 22/11/2015 14:31

runner don't despair, it's shit and annoying, I'm trying to think of it like playing the lottery, I'll give it my best go, but it's all chance and you never know when your numbers will come up.

Runner05 · 22/11/2015 14:09

Shel, Stark I don't really think it's implantation bleed, just wishful thinking as I definitely feel like I'm coming on. Oh well.

I'm desperate to put the tree up... Partially because then I can wrap the presents and get them out of the bedroom!!!

Nurse15 · 22/11/2015 14:01

Grumpy because I'm on cd 19 and no ovulation yet - how is anyone meant to get knocked up?!? Grin

StarkyTheDirewolf · 22/11/2015 13:42

Hiya guys! It was bloody freezing last night! I nearly went to bed wearing a hat! Sorry you're feeling rubbish runner try not to think about testing and see what happens, periods are bastards, and are even bigger bastards when you don't want one to arrive! It could be implantation bleeding, you never know though.

Ovulation tests are also bastards, you never know if the line is dark enough to constitute an actual ovulation!

I'm feeling christmassy and wintery today!

It's just occurred to me that I didn't post my stats earlier in the week.

26 (soon to be 27)
Third cycle off the pill
TTC after Christmas (using condoms in the meantime)
CD29 - my last cycle was 37 days so, unless my cycle is still up in the air from years on the pill, I think this means I have long cycles
Expecting AF any time between now and 1 December

leoniethelioness · 22/11/2015 11:02

I'm not sure about the percentages but I read last night that in every 100 couples trying for a baby:

around 30 will conceive within one month
around 75 will conceive within six months
around 80–90 will conceive within one year
the remaining 10–20 will take longer or may need help to get pregnant.

Ni4444 · 22/11/2015 10:28

Morning ladies! Still waiting for a positive on the ol ovulation pissy stick, but sticking firm to the sperm meets egg plan, so every second day since CD8. I'm so glad OH is so on board for this. I told him the dtd days and he's sticking to it! Should be peak fertility now.

Purple I'd love tea in bed -it's so cold outside the duvet! But I reckon I better get breakfast going. OH can never get the poached eggs right...hope he's better at cooking my eggs!! Wink

shelbTa · 22/11/2015 09:22

Morning ladies.

Runner - you thinking it could be implantation bleed? I don't know enough about it really....but I hope it is!

I've got a cracking headache, could be from the gin and wine, but my body also gives me distinctive headaches when hormones fluctuate during my cycle and wondering if my body is thinking - hmm, I should be getting a daily dose of hormones right about now

purplesmiler · 22/11/2015 08:55

Morning ladies

Runner I hope you have a nice day out. Try to keep your mind on other things and like you say test tomorrow to put your mind at ease.

I'm currently enjoying a cuppa in bed the cold is putting me off moving for now. Coming to the end of my fertile window according to Ovia. We have been dtd lots so fingers crossed but we will see its fun anyway.

Happy Sunday all.

Runner05 · 22/11/2015 08:45

Morning ladies, how are you today?

I feel rough, I'm obviously too old for all this going out and getting very little sleep stuff. Would happily spend today in bed but we need to take the step troubles out.

My body is also annoying me. I can feel that AF is on the way but I've had nothing but spotting since yesterday which is obviously giving me false hope. If I'm still only spotting tomorrow I will do a test but I'm near certain AF will start with a vengeance later today.

Hope all of your ttc efforts are going well Wink

Runner05 · 22/11/2015 07:04

mor I've seen that a few places. Medical sites and ttc sites. I think it's about 20% while your in your 20's then reduces to about 15% as you hit mid 30's that's just from memory though that's why they insist you try for 6 months to a year, depending on your age, before referring you for fertility testing.

Morwenna1 · 21/11/2015 22:54

Enjoy your wine Runner! Wine Yep, I had read DTD every other day throughout the month was the official advice, just wanted to see what other's had read/researched....it's logical it will affect the swimmers if you do it every day I guess...hmm! Might revisit this plan in a few months time if nothing has happened! 12% - 15% in a given month? Where did you see that? I hope that's not accurate! Sad

Pinklily1 · 21/11/2015 21:21

Posted too doon!

Hope everyone else is getting on ok.

Shelb - sorry if I've missed this (thread took some catching up!), but have you convinced OH to get back on board yet?

Pinklily1 · 21/11/2015 21:13

Hi ladies, so much to catch up on! Hope everyone is having a good weekend.

Miss so exciting that you've got a BFP! Have you told your OH?

I think I'm wearing my OH down to start TTC in December rather than January, fingers crossed.

happybus28 · 21/11/2015 20:46

Yeah I know bunch i did one a couple of days ago which the line was definitely lighter but today's was pretty much the same colour so im hoping that's good! Have EWCM and cramps too. Fingers crossed for you, it only takes once!

leonie I just got a pack from super drug but you can buy off amazing fairly cheap I think.

leoniethelioness · 21/11/2015 20:29

Please could you send me the link to where I can buy cheap OPKs? I think I'm ready to start taking this seriously now! I've been taking pre conception vitamins for the last couple of weeks and we are going to start TTC after Christmas (or maybe before if my cycle aligns with conceiving on holiday AND being entitled to enhanced mat leave at work - not very romantic, I know). DH and I have decided on some names tonight too! Grin Obviously very premature but exciting nonetheless...!

BunchOfBobs · 21/11/2015 19:51

Hi everyone.

Sorry about AF Runner but at least you can enjoy decorating your tree as you intended now.

Happy, Bubba I've read the rest line on OPK's has to be darker or as dark as the control line to be positive. You get LH levels throughout your cycle but you need the surge to be ovulating, hence a lighter line is a negative result. Sorry Confused it's so easy to miss the surge though, hence why I stopped testing.

I hope everyone is having a nice weekend. I'm in the tww now, but my cycle means till be a 3ww. I'm not holding my breath though. Only dtd once as I was away almost the entire window.

BubbaNo1 · 21/11/2015 19:35

Thanks! But then I read if the line is too light it may be negative :(... Lol not too sure anymore..

Runner05 · 21/11/2015 19:29

Hello ladies, how are you doing this weekend.

Good luck on the ovulation you two.

Shelb I did some research and for women in their 30's you only have between a 12% to 15% chance of conceiving in any given month and I imagine your first month after coming of the pill there is even less chance... I'm not sure whether that is reassuring for you or not Confused

I'm going to try to divert my attention away from wondering this cycle. I need to crack on with trying to start my business up and I bought a piano last year that I have so far failed to learn to play so I'm going to give that another go. Distraction, distraction, distraction, that's the plan. well that's my plan, I think OH's plan is to look forward to the fertile week dtd marathon lol

happybus28 · 21/11/2015 19:18

looks that way to me bubba i got a positive OPK today too! I agree it does make it feel very real!
