What a dreadful doctor Harriet you should complain to the practice manager?

I swore that I wouldn't feed my obsessive symptom spotting behaviour anymore but last night I caved and used a pissy stick, negative (obviously) and I'm on cd26 of who knows how long a cycle...

It's like I'm waiting for some kind of magic sign to tell me what my body's doing...and that all is ok...a neon sign would do just as well

I have been a bit quiet again, I felt so exhausted last night and had really bad indigestion that was making me feel sick. It was really weird. It is so frustrating waiting to test.

Ah runner, at least you know a proper cycle is kicking in I suppose? Yeah get some 50p sticks, join me! To be fair the seem to work, at least they pick up the LH hormone. Currently trying to Google when is the best time of day to do them (rather than huge 10-8 window).

Harriet that Dr sounds like a right arse and as others have said, if you are pregnant with a coil in you may well go on to have a perfectly healthy pregnancy, there are a lot of articles including one on the NHS website (if memory serves me) saying that the coil just gets pushed out of the way as the baby grows.

Latest news from my screwed up body... Period is back I think I might get som internet cheapy ov tests. I've got some Superdrug but you only get 5 tests and knowing my luck I'll run out before ovulating!

harriet sounds like an arse of a doctor. On a positive note bough I've heard of people not miss carrying after coil removal and even a baby being born pretty much holding the coil! Can you try calling early mornings for a cancellation.

Hi shelb - no not using sticks but I remember in the dim and distant past pre-pill getting ovulation pain (in fact I vividly remember having to sit on the floor in M&S aged about 16 because I couldn't stand!) I assume I'll get something similar again - although hopefully less drastic!

De why - yeah, needless to say I've already done one! It was pink, but nowhere near as dark as the control line.

Sounds likes I'm only a few days off from your cycle as ovia says I go into mine at weekend. Are you using the sticks?! Fingers crossed it holds off for you until DH returns!

Harriet - that's super unhelpful! It's ok, when I hit 30 I had a doctor look me in the eye and ask me when am I going to get on with things! The reason for the delay could be stress related?

Runner - bodies are weird and unpredictable. Try not to read too much into it!

Going back a bit, it's very difficult when people keep asking. It's driving me slightly mad to be honest....such a personal question, and there could be all manner of things going on! And I'm highly unlikely to tell work colleagues above close friends and family

Ovia reckons I'm in my fertile window but it's the 1st cycle and no indication of ovulation so I'm not convinced. It's pretty irrelevant anyway as DH is still on another continent! It might actually be handy if my cycle is long as I don't think he'll be impressed if he gets back and I'm on my period so sex is off the menu!

Sorry, shd say I know there's not really anything they can do when it's just one month, but it was more her attitude that was annoying! I may be irrational but at least humour me!

Hi all. I'm so behind with this thread! So exciting so many people have joined (and welcome!).
I need to have a rant and sorry tmi! - my period is 14 days late for first time ever. Can't put it down to contraception cos I have the non-hormonal coil and normally v regular. Took a test last wk just in case and it was negative. I've been really worried but saw the dr yesterday and she really annoyed me! Said I might be pg. I said oh no but I've been drinking etc. She said oh well if you're preg with coil you'll just miscarry anyway! Is that supposed to be comforting?? I asked if she could test me and no - have to book in with the nurse for that and it's 2wks before there's a free appointment. Argh. So I took another test and def not pregnant, and still none the wiser as to why random missed period. Gonna hold out for next month I guess and see what happens.

Ni yes, this was my first real period after withdrawn bleed but literally was a couple of spots, still I'm starting to wonder if you're right. TMI but there's barely been a smudge on my pad. But then again it has pretty much gone now and today I have cm again. Not ewcm but definitely not pre-period either and my period symptoms have gone bloody body.

I did a internet cheaply test today again just in case but I expected it to be neg.

Haha runner. I could do with some vodka too - just show it the ginger ale. Well according to ovia it will kick in at weekend, but fuc* knows what will actually happen in reality. My 50p piss sticks should arrive tomorrow so at least I can obsess and use those without breaking the bank. Still got a cracking headache.

Purple - do you think you could get your OH to have a word with mine! That's a really nice thing to do.

CD19 here and still negative on the ovulation sticks. I know the sticks could have missed the surge, I could be about to ovulate really late, but also worried I didn't ovulate this month. That would be such a shame as we have dtd every second day since CD8 and I'm not sure we can keep this up for much longer!

Runner was that your first AF after pill withdrawal one? My first one was crazy short and light...not what I expected after a 32 day cycle! I guess now I'm realising why some people wait a few months off the pill before starting. But fk that, id still rather be getting on with it or at least think I'm getting on with it!

First acupuncture apt is this Saturday. I'll see if she has any useful advice...

I'm finding it hard to switch off from work at the moment so stressful. My fab OH ran me a bath with candles and had a glass of wine ready for when I got in last night. It was lovely we then managed a nice romantic evening together. He does look after me bless him.

Still getting a few niggles near my stomach but know it could be anything really. Debating if to buy one of the early tests or just wait for test day next week. I need to try to be patient lol.

My first cycle was 41 days shelbTa which isn't too bad really but I've had a couple over 50 and two 38 day-ers, not in any identifiable pattern. Hoping this next one is shorter (or BFP), I'm currently on CD25 so we'll see!

Same fear after being on the pill for so long - I actually can't remember a legit AF. How long was your first cycle? I'm CD8 of my first cycle.

Bunch yeah ovia is pretty good. But agree some of the stuff like 'good job on DTD, you're getting into the cycle' I was like, errrrr shut up.

I'm new here but been lurking since the previous thread, and you ladies are keeping me sane but NOTHING can make me chill out it seems I've been off the pill since March, after 13 years, and my cycles are still erratic - Ovia keeps moving my fertile window loads in each month so even apps can't work out what's going on I'm worried that having been on the pill so long has messed everything up....argh!

And runner05 it seems people sometimes feel a right to ask us about having babies, I've had DH's family on at me about it for months and two colleagues have even asked me! It really doesn't help...I keep making jokes about being a cat lady
