Morning all

Feeling a bit better this morning... although I must galvanise into action. I'm a freelance and not working at the moment and finding it difficult to actually get on and DO stuff!

Had a big talk with dp this morning... no BD for us last night or this morning, even though I got a + OPK yesterday afternoon. It's our first month of trying with the pressure of really KNOWING when the right time is, and we're finding it a bit tricksy. I know it's a common complaint, but I think it's going to take a while for us to work out our own way of going about this. He feels as though we're already behaving as though we've got a problem, with me charting etc. My answer is that I'm 36 and I'd rather give it my all from the start than waste a few months not getting it right. I told him that the alternative to charting and pinpointing the exact fertile time would be to BD 2-3 times a week, regularly, all through the cycle. Before we started doing this we had relaxed into BD just at weekends, which obviously isn't really enough. Food for thought for him, anyway. He's a bit upset this morning because he knows I'm a bit down that we didn't BD after I got my positive with the OPK. Our best chance of a BFP this month now is that we BD'd 3 days before OV.

Enough doom and gloom! Glad to see that we're still going strong on the December thread... good luck to those testing soon!

sparklytreeangel - when are you due to test?

greedyformincepies · 19/12/2006 09:21

So no bfp for me this month .
Ah well, the money I'll save on a pg test will go towards a bottle of wine & some nice smelly cheese tomorrow.

BoJingles · 18/12/2006 18:24

Hi everyone,
Wishing you all good luck with BFP's!!!! I have found MN soooo useful and I've gained tonnes of info from you all over the last few months. Sadly........ I don't think its doing anything for my emotional state right now, so I'm going to bow out gracefully whilst I'm still sane .

Merry christmas to you all

ladybug007 · 18/12/2006 17:27

Likewise, Sparkly!

sparklytreeangel · 18/12/2006 17:23

sparklytreeangel · 18/12/2006 17:06

Who's left on December? and who's next to test?

FactsAndFigures · 18/12/2006 13:44

Hi All

Congratulations to the BFPs

Unfortunately, my time with you has come to an end. AF has finally arrived, 11 days late!!!! I'm kind of relieved in a strange way as at least I know whats going on - the hanging around feeling no symptoms was doing my head in to say the least.

Good luck to those of you stil in the 2WW.

I hope you all have a wonderful Christmas

geekInSillySantaHat · 18/12/2006 12:01

Ooops, really haven't woken up yet, that post was meant for the TCOYF thread, not this one! What I was meant to say on this thread was, congrats to ticklemepink, yet another BFP, so exciting!!!

Welcome ladybug, lovely to have you. Hope we help you get through the 2weekwait still sane, and that you get your BFP soon!

And any news from babylove??!?

geekInSillySantaHat · 18/12/2006 11:58

Well as predicted, temp went up again this morning, so I'm pretty sure I OVed in the past 36 hours, and lovely DH obliged again last night I almost feel guilty that we've been enjoying lots of BDing in this month when it sounds like so many people on here are finding it tough for various reasons...

XmassyCharlotte, big hugs, really sounds like a difficult time for you honey! Are you getting some time off over Christmas? Maybe you need to take a day or an evening with DP and just relax together, have a romantic meal or something - have a good old fashioned 'date' to remind yourselves how much you do actually love each other, and forget about all the wedding and TTC stuff for a bit. Re the TCOYF, you may need to fiddle around with stuff in the 'Preferences' bit of the software to tailor the calculations to what's normal for you. Having said that, your chart does look fairly flat (on average) for the past week, so maybe it's right and you just haven't OVed yet this month. You could just be a few days late this month, so stay positive!

MrsMc - Congrats on the positive OPK How are things with your DH at the mo?

babylove123 · 17/12/2006 22:56

Thanks will do cant sleep so going to do some research on net. I had something done a few yrs ago, some herbal thing where they can tell by your energy if theres anything wrong with you. trying to look it up and see if that can help - anythings worth a shot!

ladybug007 · 17/12/2006 22:54

Off to bed, but keep us informed! Good luck!xxx

babylove123 · 17/12/2006 22:46

Think i may have to! Wasnt going to until Tues but i have some so i may need it! See how i feel when i get up! i bet £50 it'll be a BFN!

ladybug007 · 17/12/2006 22:32

Shouldn't think so. Are you testing again tomorrow/

babylove123 · 17/12/2006 22:28

No, no reason to as far as i know. Was un-well with kidney/water infection but wouldt have thought it would be enough to cause this!!!!

ladybug007 · 17/12/2006 22:20

I've never missed a period in (gulp) 20 years. Had a chemical pregnancy in Feb (where you get a positive but then it doesn't implant or something - got my period 9 days late) but that was the only time it's been delayed. People certainly do get missed periods, but would there be a reason for you to?
