Painful sex for 2 years?? I think you need a second opinion. Did you say you had private healthcare? Painful sex isn't right. You're pretty young, aren't you? Did it begin with your partner or before? am concerned now.

Pain on passing urine (dysurea is the medical term) is very often a symptom of infection. Urinary infections are common in pregnancy and if the symptoms persist it would be a good idea to have your urine checked again to exclude this.
However, in about 50% of cases of dysurea urine samples are found to be clear of any infection. The pain in these cases is often linked to inflammation of the urethra, (the tube from the bladder). Irritation and inflammation may be caused by the use of products such as bubble bath, vaginal deodorants, or products used to clean the bath.

Pregnancy can also cause changes in the acidity of the urine again leading to irritation. Sexual intercourse can cause friction, which may lead to inflammation of the urethra.

Im always careful with bodywashes etc, use only simple which is soap free etc....

No. I usually get a lot of internal swelling when i have a water infection but usually i wld take anti-imflammitories but u cant when pg so i cant just incase! See i need to know!!! Argh!

I tried to get into the subject that having sex for me is REALLY painful and he said to see how i get on with this and go back in new yr. The painful sex has been like this for 2 yrs tho

I mean, sorry, I read your post. Does anything else hurt? Pain when moving sounds a little extreme for thrush. What does anyone else think?

That doesn't sound great if you're having problems sitting down. Do you feel bad in other ways?

Well i went back because i've been having problems with sitting down etc, it burns a lot. Doesnt hurt to go for a wee but hurts to move/sit etc. He just gave me a pessary and cream and diagnosed it as that. Used the pessary last night and feel no diff, drinking water by bucket load to try & help......dont think he was fussed.

Would think internal the same as external. How exactly did gp diagnose internal thrush?

Internal thrush tho not external. I wondered coz obv, when urinating, it comes out down the same way, lol....

In my experience, men are pretty last minute! But that's ok - mine is in Spain trying to cope with European sizings. Good luck to him!

Babylove-I wouldnt have thought that thrush would affect a PG test either. Although don't quote me on that!

I just wondered coz UTI's can affect them and i wondered if thrush cld as it is a form of an infection in a way. Clutching at straws....

yup he's just turned up. Had gone to the gym then been persuaded (very easily) to go to the pub. So he wasnt dashing out to buy me some xmas pressies then .

Sorry to gross anyone out but i need to ask! I've had a severe water infection which i didnt think had cleared up but they've now diagnosed me with internal vaginal thrush. Can this affect urine pg tests?!!!

Well my stomach is exactly the same as ever (ie not perfect but, you know, the only one I've got!). I'm due Christmas or Boxing Day but don't want to take tests with me - would rather just sit it out. Is that bad? Will try not to go crazy on the booze but just know dh and bil will want to go to village pub for a few. Have to test before New Year in Scotland at any rate...Am a jock after all! I've currently lost my DP. Came home at 7 ish and the tv was on but no one at home. He's left his mobile here... all very mysterious. Perhaps he's doing some late night xmas shopping! (wishful thinking)
