Congratulations KItKat.

Good luck to everyone else testing soon.

My AF (or should I say BFP) is due 30th DEc.

honeyapple · 22/12/2006 12:03

Heh Kitkat! Congratulations, thats fantastic!
How many BFPs this month then so far? I reckon it's a lot.
Hope I squeeze one in at the end

Chooster · 22/12/2006 12:02

Hey December ladies - Just popped in to say Happy Christmas to all the December ladies! Congratulations to all those with BFP's and good luck to those still waiting to test around xmas. Fingers crossed!!!!

MerryKitkatmas · 22/12/2006 11:46

Hi girls... cant quite believe it yet, but I got my BFP this morning. Waited until 16dpo to test (not sure how I lasted that long - must've been the clearblue fairy whispering in my ear!!). No symptoms whatsoever - just a few pinchy AF type cramps... did a test this morning and the cross came up immediately!

Did nothing different this month, other than used pre-seed. We're still in shock really... Fingers crossed this one sticks like glue! Here's hoping there are lots more BFPs this month too!!

I'll be lurking for a while yet - too scared to go over to any ante-natal threads!!! Hope you're all OK...(still in a daze over here!!)

BoJingles · 22/12/2006 11:01

Apologies for dreadful spelling - in a bit of a rush today

BoJingles · 22/12/2006 11:00

Hi all,

hello City - hope you are well. Good luck over christmas with testing, fingers crossed for you. I'm due on yesterday/today but still nothing but cramps. I'll keep you posted.

Babylove - All types of thrush are usually internal and by the time it work it'a way to being extrenal is when you suffer with the symptoms which are usually itching, soreness (from itching)redness and some whitish discharge. Its very common for all ladies to get thrush. If you've tried the pessary's and cream and they haven't worked try Diflucan tablet over the counter in Boots. Its far easier and far more effective and also less messy. Don't forget to treat DH too otherwise you will keep re-infecting yourself. Cystitis or water infections are quite different and it stings like mad when passing urine, you shouldn't get discharge with it's not affecting you cervical canal etc. You must drink plenty of lemon barley and keep yourself well hydrated. Often ladies get cystitis from too much shagging hence them calling it "honeymoon cycytitis". Try plenty of cranberry juice and if it doesn't clear you may have developed a UTI (urinary tract infection) for which you need antibiotics. With regards to cervical screening - they are constantly updated the guidelines so thing do change from every 3-5yrs to be tested depending on your age on sexual activity. Cannot understand why they would need to test anyone who have not been sexually active - lets face it you never see any nuns in the waiting room!!

Hello all

Would so love you all to get those christmas BFP's.
Wishing you all lots of luck

and also a very merry christmas

Happy Birthday Mrs Mc.

MrsMcClaus · 22/12/2006 09:01

Babylove - if I were you, I'd go to the GUM clinic at your local hospital just in case it's more than thrush. When DH and I first got together, he got an infection and so we both got tested for everything, it was real piece of mind when all the tests came up negative. He didn't get the infection from me by the way!

Quick summary for me, think I am 4dpo but the software says 3. Temps are good, no sore boobs this cycle which is great but its still early days, very much dreaming of a BFP. AF is due on my birthday so I'll either be crying out of misery or joy

Speak to you all later x

MrsMcClaus · 22/12/2006 08:53

Hello my fesive friends! I have 5 mins to catch up so wanted to post first before I read up to let you know that though I haven't been posting much, I do think about you all Merry Christmas and may your wish come true

whoopsfallenoffthexmastree · 22/12/2006 05:29

Babylove - I'm shocked that your doctors don't do smears til your 25! I was found with abnormal cells at 20 (I was going to say I hadn't had sex but I had!!) I did have my first smear before I had ever had sex though.

babylove123 · 21/12/2006 23:07

Night!

ladybug007 · 21/12/2006 23:04

Me too - good night!

babylove123 · 21/12/2006 23:03

hehe! I do think that if the NHS spent more on prevention, they'd save a hell of a lot on the cures! Still, not like little old me is gonna make 1 bit of a diff!!!

I g2g to bed now, work 2morro

ladybug007 · 21/12/2006 23:01

or NOT what it should be - see what i mean?!

ladybug007 · 21/12/2006 23:00

Yes I agree with you - and everyone is different so 25 seems a very arbitary age to start testing, in my opinion - though when I was 25 Oasis were just starting out, so my memory is perhaps what it should be (bit doddery).

babylove123 · 21/12/2006 22:57

Oh i dont think its anything to do with my problems but its like mamograms (sorry if spelt wrong!) y'kno, prevention is better than cure and all.......

ladybug007 · 21/12/2006 22:56

She says, like she's a doctor. I think you have an infection, personally, but that shouldn't affect your pg test, in my opinion...

ladybug007 · 21/12/2006 22:55

Ok well, it probably takes that long for anything to show. The smear only shows up dodgy cells, and that is definitely not your problem.

babylove123 · 21/12/2006 22:51

i thought you had them every 3 yrs once sexually active and obv, being 17 when we started and now being 20, i asked a few months ago. Was told the age is now up to 25 and unless i have problems before, they'll notify me when im 25 to go!!!

ladybug007 · 21/12/2006 22:48

What??? You can't have a smear til you're 25?? That's new, surely! You can have your rant, babylove, I'm ranting with you.

babylove123 · 21/12/2006 22:44

I asked about cervical smears etc and they said they dont take them now till 25. Thats means i'll have been sexually active for 8 yrs when i get tested! Thought it was supposed to be every 3! Again, protocol rules everything!

They dont understand do they? I cldnt be a doc because i cldnt turn ppl away due to lack of money or it isnt the usual way to deal with things....

lol, rant over, sorry

ladybug007 · 21/12/2006 22:40

They sound pretty rubbish. I always read that over 35 you should ask for tests after 6 months but my one acted like it was unnecessary after a year, and I'm 36. Why is it that they can't take us seriously? I suppose just try and keep as healthy as you can = don't know what else to suggest! Keep off the yeast!xxx

babylove123 · 21/12/2006 22:36

I swapped docs coz my 1st said it was coz im fat! Tried 3 times and everytime he said it was my weight causing pressure. Um, lying down doesnt cause much pressure?!

Swapped to new guy and he laughed at the 1st docs thoughts. He said if no better in new yr, they'll think about taking swabs....

I thought prevention was better than cure.....

ladybug007 · 21/12/2006 22:29

Hmm yeah have to say, there is an infection there. I'm 36 with more partners than you would want to shake a stick at, so this is something different I think. Could just be a bad case of thrush, but your doctor should really have picked up on this history. He sounds a bit rubbish. Maybe you just have a very simple infection. Though don't really see how this would prevent your af from appearing. Listen, will say again - I'm really not a doctor therefore not much use! Wish I was.

babylove123 · 21/12/2006 22:22

Hehe sorry! Yeh, had probably 8 infections in 3 yrs.....they were gonna look into kidney stones but cant if you're pg!
