I filled up the last thread - sorry ladies... so thought I best start a new one since there is still a long ol' time to go in December!

OP posts:
BoJingles · 16/12/2006 17:46

Babylove . I know exactly what you mean, I came off the pill an April and really thought it would happen in the first 3 months. Then I got into the OTK, figured out my days and symptoms etc and still nothing. Its so frustrating but I've now come to accept this is the one thing in life where you cannot have control over it, no matter how much you want to. I've got an appointment in Jan to see what happens next - as I'm heading toward 35yrs very soon so I went to get going with treatments ASAP if there's a problem . How old is "young"?

babylove123 · 16/12/2006 17:37

Hey bo, this is my 5th month. I expect in comparrisson to a lot of women thats nothing but i am surprised it's taking so long. I thought being young was supposed to be good!!!! lol

My way of thinking is that "so what if it is taking so long, it just means that when it does happen, it'll be the best thing ever and you'll cherish that child so much forever"

Not that anyone who does get pg quickly doesnt cherish their child! (just to point that out!)

BoJingles · 16/12/2006 17:34

Babylove - Thanks for the words of comfort. Lets hope it happens soon for us all have you been trying long?

babylove123 · 16/12/2006 17:30

Dont worry bojingles, i expect i'll still be here for a while!!!!

BoJingles · 16/12/2006 17:27

Has anyone used the mens home sperm testing kits? Are they any good or accurate at all?

BoJingles · 16/12/2006 17:26

MrsMcClause - don't use Boots OTK they are hopeless and so are many of the other brands. Try First Response, they are more accurate and far easier to read

BoJingles · 16/12/2006 17:24

Congrats to Diva and Festive
I feel really happy for all you girls with BNF's ... really I do... but am getting a tad selfishly panic stricken ....thinking its all happening for you all and you're dropping from this spread like flies and I wonder if I might at some point be the only one left panic, panic, panic Oh gawd I really hope this doesn't come accross as selfishness as I don't mean it that way at all
Well AF pains are still coming and going for me still and have been doing for the last 4 days so I should imagine AF is still going to arrive sometime mid next week. Onto cyle 8 or is it 9 nine now ....I'm loosing count

MrsMcClause - is you DH in any pains since his op or even taking any anaglesics? This could be to blame for his lack of Mojo. Is he up and walking around ok? (still convinced about the endometriosis - dear god I hope I don't have twins!!)

Cityangel - How are you holding up this month cycle buddy?

Ready · 16/12/2006 16:04

Ladies!!! How are you all??? I've missed you all so much, couldn't stay away any longer It's taken me ages to catch up on everything, and haven't I missed out on a week of news

Greedy... How are you? I PMSL at your flush/no flush survey. I am a strict "wrap and bin" girl, but I use pads, so can you imagine how awful it is to flush those Thanks so much for thinking of me (hug) I'm getting there, I am trying not to think of sex as BDing from now on

Sparklytreeangel... How's it going?? The break did help actually, AF hit me a lot harder than I ever imagined it would!! Thanks for thinking of me, I missed you all too!

MrsMcClaus... What is this I see? You all down (hug) Your little face for me and saying you missed me was really sweet, thank you. Although at your comment about my "funny sense of humour" is that funny weird?? Heehee. I am mental! First of all you are to stop worrying about your weight being an issue for ttc, you sound like you are a curvy woman, and I was always told curves are a sign of fertility!! So long as you are comfortable in your own skin, that is the most important thing! Second(sorry if this sounds like a lecture, not intentional!!!) you and your DH need to talk about all this. He has just had an op and he is stuck on his own all day, all the while probably worrying about not being able to make you happy and give make a baby (men don't like to admit these things though do they!!) You are worrying about putting pressure on him and the stress you are both under is really not good for ttc!! Can I ask, is the "deadline" of moving to Spain on your mind a lot?? I hate to think of you feeling so down! (hug)

FestiveFettle... WOW!!!!!! I am sooooooo excited for you!! A little I must confess, but you know that is from a good place!! Thank you for saying you missed me, and I told the ClearBlueFairy that you apologised for testing, but she didn't mind since you got a BFP All the best for a wonderful pregnancy. Pop back in from time to time to let us know how you are getting on!!

FestivelyFrostyFloss... We aren't cycle buds anymore Hope you are ok?? Fingers crossed for you!

MerryKitKatMas... Thanks for asking after me. How are you? I think you are a cycle behind me?? (I'm on cycle4) Fingers crossed.

ImpatientElf... How is it all going?? Last I knew the EWCM was early, any other signs to show OV was early?? Fingers crossed.

Ticklemepinkwithtinsel... Sorry about your BFN but it's not over til it's over!! Fingers crossed that AF stays away for you!

KittiwakeSnowflakes... I'm all geared up for next week, in fact we've started already Fingers crossed for you!

Snowdiva... Congratulations!! All the best, keep us posted with everything.

Everyone else, I hope all is well. Fingers crossed for lots of wonderful BFPs for christmas.

x

decorativeD2Bmum · 16/12/2006 15:05

just realised i shouldnt even be on this thread!! oh well lol

YuleTideways · 16/12/2006 15:01

Greedy - lol at you keeping patients waiting so you can mn

MrsMc - I nearly fell off my chair when I read you thought 7 st 6 was too fat to get pregnant . I read the other one, but can't really comment as I am heavier than you - by quite a bit - but taller too (that's my excuse!). I know I really need to lose some as well, but finding it hard to do. This is not really the right time of year to start dieting either, is it?

Snowyowlet - so sorry about af . Hope you have a lovely Christmas and I look forward (iykwim) to seeing you back here in January.

Mirry - for you too!

As for me, heavy boobs for the last couple of days, but now I have a cold sore, which definitely means af is on the way. Oh well, I'll be on the cooking sherry then

Good luck to those testing in the next few days

decorativeD2Bmum · 16/12/2006 14:59

mrsmc - please dont feel down, your dh has gone through a tough time and i know sometimes they dont admit it but i bet he is feeling angry at himself at not being able to do the deed when he knows how much it is hurting you too.
i wrote off this last month of ttc and left it up to dp to decide when we bd'd to let him feel i wasnt pressurising him after our big discussion before (where we fell out)
i think me and you started ttc again together on the positive july thread! seems like ages ago but actually i am just going onto my 7th cycle now.
it will happen for you - i just keep thinking to myself in an attempt to stay positive this will be mine and dps last drunken xmas alone together as next year we WILL be holding our own bundle of joy!!!

decorativeD2Bmum · 16/12/2006 14:50

Mirry71 · 16/12/2006 13:24

that should be 'can enjoy myself' by the way!

Mirry71 · 16/12/2006 13:24

Congrats to festivefettle and snowydiva.
As for me AF appeared today - 4 days early - a real disappointment and very strange as usually have regular 28 day cycle - how could that be?
Oh well guess I can enjoyed myself at Xmas party tonight
For all the rest of you waiting to hear - very good luck xxx

greedyformincepies · 16/12/2006 12:13

sorry to hear that snowy. will you be the first to start a 'positive january thread'? someone has to!

MrsMcBigBoobs! i was staring at that for ages, thinking '7st 6lbs! and she said she was dieting !' i was all ready with a very harsh reply and then i saw your next post! as if that is affecting your chances of concieving! for someone so smart you are very daft sometimes! you are hardly obese at a size 12/14 are you??? GET A GRIP GIRL!!!!! also, 6 cycles is the average amount of time it takes to concieve isn't it? just remember that!
oh dear! i do despair of you all sometimes!

Snowyowlet · 16/12/2006 11:50

Hi folks, well, no need to test cos AF arrived today . Wishing you ladies who are all waiting all the very best and a fab Christmas to all will pop into MN in the new year. Thanks for all your support and catch up in 2007.

MrsMcClaus · 16/12/2006 11:11

11 stone 6

MrsMcClaus · 16/12/2006 11:10

Ticklemepink - hope you are feeling better today I know what you mean about the effort!! I'm not far off the weight I was when I got pregnant before either (I'm 5ft6 and weigh 7st6 - show of hands ladies, do you think my weight is affecting my ability to conceive?)

Got to go and get ready for viewers! Back later to talk to you all!

greedyformincepies · 16/12/2006 10:55

thanks festive! i know it sounds daft cos i dont know you, but im going to miss you!
try and stay positive about this pregnancy, i have no experience of miscarriage so have no idea what its like, but i do know there is no point worrying about something that is completely out of your control. so just try and enjoy your pregnancy as much as possible.
xxxx

festivefettle · 16/12/2006 10:44

Greedy of course I'll keep popping in to see you all - I'm a bit scared to move on at the moment to be honest. Now I've got a BFP, I'm not really feeling pg anymore, so I'm terrified I'm going to lose this one, as I did the last one. I must keep thinking positive

We are off tomorrow for 10 days for Christmas and then we have my brother's wedding over New Year, so a hectic next couple of weeks to keep my mind off things. I do so hope your next long cycle, is an extra long (9 month) cycle!!.

Take care everyone on this thread, thank you again for all your wonderful support.

Happy Christmas

Uki · 16/12/2006 09:23

Hi All
Just dropping in to see how you all are?

MrsMc so sorry you feel bad, but remember it only takes the once, easily forgotten when TTC, also what about trying mornings, or afternoons for that matter. My dh is much more of a morning than night man, and i'm the opposite most of the time.

also think i was having trouble ttc coz i was ov later than i thought, cycle changed on me.

XmassyCharlotte · 15/12/2006 22:55

Congrats to FestiveFettle

MrsMc - sorry you're feeling so down about the whole BDing thing. We're a few cycles back from you, but I can already sense how very very difficult this is for DP... this pressure to perform exactly when asked to. It's funny, isn't it, how having a baby is something you both want very much, yet we're not the ones that feel 'under pressure' to perform (I don't know about you, but at the right time in the cycle I'm happy to get on with it whenever I need to). Men are different though, and I think performance pressure is something that has hounded many of them since they first started having sexual experiences. When I first met DP I found that he had secretly been taking Viagra occasionally, without telling me, because he was worried about his ability to perform (sorry, TMI).

So much of their ability to perform, and impress us, is tied up with their egos, and I really do feel for your DH. I feel for you too, of course!! I can only imagine your frustration, having been tinkering, plotting and charting for the past 6 months, feeling as though you're doing more and more and more to help the situation, and get you both where you want to be. I have tried to put myself in their position... and think how I would feel if dp was able to take pills and potions, lick a microscope, wee on a stick, plot his body temperature - and then say to me one afternoon "RIGHT - YOU! GET SEXUALLY AROUSED..... NOW!!!". Because of course WE don't really to get aroused in order to BD - whereas THEY do.

I wish I had more answers for you, but I think others have already given great advice (although it's easier to say than to do, I'm sure) - really try to focus on your relationship with DH... after all, you two and the love you have for each other is what has brought you to the brink of wanting to become parents.

MincePieShu · 15/12/2006 22:34

Hi All,

Just popping on to say Happy Christmas to all. I'm away on holiday this weekend and probably won't have any opportunity to catch up with you all until after the big day.

Will be keeping my fingers crossed for you all.

Congratulations to the recent BFPs

Not sure how this cycle is going to go. Been really stressed with work and suffering serious confusion about all sorts of things otherwise. I am due to ov during second half of holiday, so hope that the recent stress hasn't delayed that.

Sorry about those of you having ttc problems. No matter our good intentions, we can't help but get obsessed by this, can we?

Anyway, Happy Christmas - hope you all get what you want.

xxx

MrsHolly · 15/12/2006 22:29

Big congratulations to festivefettle and snowdiva!! I haven't checked in here for a week or so...and look what I missed! Excellent news !

MrsMc - I'm just dropping in to say that I recognise so much of what you have been saying and so sorry that you are feeling down - I was exactly the same last cycle and we ended up having horrid simmering rows with DH saying he couldn't "perform" under pressure, all really unhealthy now I look back. Like you i felt that I was doing absolutely everything I could but getting zilch effort from DH. Easy to say but try to clear the air then relax and just remember why you love him. Hope that you feel better about everything over the weekend
