Hi Ladies!

Just wanted to some advice on any foods, vitamins, positions or anything other strange and odd thing you think can/ will help when trying to conceive.

I have been trying for 1.5 year (properly) and am now using well woman vitamins plus extra Vitamin D, preseed (1st time this cycle) no coffee/ tea and just generally trying to eat healthy! Any tips to share?! x

Patience and a bit of force feeding will do it haha

Oh I see. Maybe try follow some recipes online with nice roasted chicken, with the winter nights setting in he might just start to like it! Soups as well?

Stace2015 · 05/11/2015 15:09

No, he isnt over weight or anything but just has a terrible terrible diet! Hasn't touched fruit in about 3 years! Barely eats veg, ive had to make him eat sweetcorn and carrots as its the only veg he will eat! He has a terribly sweet tooth and is always snacking on chocolate and crisps etc.. this is what he is finding difficult to change after many years of this eating!

I think so! Is he in his healthy weight range etc? My hubby is overweight but he is hoping to get into a gym routine and lose it now.

Stace2015 · 05/11/2015 12:20

Yes exactly, just trying to make sure that at least that one sperm is strong! He has been taken wellman conceive vits daily so hopefully they will make some sort of a difference! Smile

It might just take a little longer to conceive naturally but even that isn't entirely true as it only takes one sperm to meet one egg! It's a complete fluke really!!

Stace2015 · 04/11/2015 23:04

Thanks for your positive words x

Hi Stace, I hope you are feeling better and please do stay positive. I know of a few couples with low sperm and they have children and did conceive naturally. Xxx

Stace2015 · 02/11/2015 11:36

Hey Melvali

I have since had some tests back from the doctors and they confirmed that my dh actually has a low sperm count so we have been referred to a fertility clinic for further tests. Changed our whole plan and im now quiet doubtful that we will actually conceive on our own so will need ICSI or IVF.

Not great but trying to keep positive! Good luck to you!

Hey DH and I ttc #1 on third cycle. I've been taking folic acid and vitamin D, using conceive plus and just started using digital ovulation tests xx

redstrawberries101 · 01/11/2015 10:01

Hi Stace! How are you getting on?

My hubby and I are TTC, I am on my first cycle but I think I missed the fertile window this month according to the app. Been reading up a lot of threads on here and it's made me feel quite stressed! Need to relax :) I wasn't planning to do any opks or anything, and just take the pregnacare pre conception tabs and hope for the best! Like you I've also just had the light cramping. I have 9 days till AF is due. All the best!

Stace2015 · 17/10/2015 22:43

Hey! I've tried all of the above accept for the sperm meets egg plan.

Tried preseed for the first time this cycle so will have to report on that in a few weeks!

The Deanna plan/sperm meets egg plan (google it).

Preseed.

If you have a short luteal phase (number of days between ovulation and first day of period is 9 days or less) then B vitamins in addition to pregnancy its and folic acid.

Stace2015 · 17/10/2015 20:45

Hmm ok, that makes sense! It's strange that we could be trying things that actually hinder the process! Thanks though Smile

Hi, just wanted to comment on the legs in the air thing!

I used to do this lots, it worked with my first but with my second it got me nowhere. Then at a smear test my GP said I had a tilted uterus and so lying on my front ( basically in doggy style position) was best. It now have my long awaited second baby.

Stace2015 · 17/10/2015 11:04

Thanks Loki! Yes I'm trying to be laid back about it this month but it's so difficult! Always a niggle thinking 'is this the month?!' Been DTD every other day as you said and have also taken preseed this month. On the tww wait now and no symptoms other than some light cramping/ pains in my ovaries! Fingers crossed Smile

With dd, DH and I just dtd every day until cd 19 or 20. I got 'the call' at work which meant that ofsted were in and I needed to live and breathe work for three solid days and nights. Got my bfp just after. I was so relaxed during the dtd time because I didn't expect to concieve so quickly and then distracted by ofsted during the tww that I actually found the whole thing fun. Last month, I was an obsessed nightmare and, it didn't happen. We only dtd after a positive opk and even then only three times. This month, and for however long it takes now, I'm going to try and relax and enjoy like last time. Good luck to all x

Stace2015 · 17/10/2015 08:39

Haha thanks Tinkly and Tattie!

Oddly, I usually get egg white mucus every time I ov but this time I didn't?! I did use preseed though so maybe that's why..

Tinkly, that's pretty much a summary of the whole book!

TinklyLittleLaugh · 17/10/2015 00:28

Egg white mucous. Optimum shagging time.

TattieHowkerz · 17/10/2015 00:23

It is a book, you should be able to order it online. I know two people who were having fertility investigations who got pregnant following the advice!

Stace2015 · 16/10/2015 19:23

Hey Tattie.. No I don't think I have read that! Where would I find it, is it a book or article? Thanks ??

TattieHowkerz · 16/10/2015 18:55

Have you read "Taking charge of your fertility"? It has good descriptions of how best to identify your most fertile times and how to pick up on anything that might be affecting conception.

Stace2015 · 15/10/2015 22:29

Sorry about all the ?? - I used the smiley face on my iPhone and thats how it comes up for some reason! Lol
