Any temping experts fancy having a look at my chart?

Hi

Thanks for taking the time to look. Would this suggest I ovulated? My opks say no as they only went about a third as dark as the control line. I definitely didn't miss it with the opks as I checked each time I went for a wee on the important dates. This is my 1st month charting and am struggling a little.

When will you gets your results vapo? Good luck today. X

MrsPCR · 29/11/2015 16:29

Good luck tomorrow Vap0!

Sunnydays321 · 29/11/2015 10:54

Sorry vapo, didn't mean scan! Bloods.

Sunnydays321 · 29/11/2015 10:52

Vapo. Really glad all seems to be going well. That's good news about getting to 5 weeks, and dark lines on test. Good luck with scan tomorrow.

Rose, I don't have any evidence for pcos really. But irregular cycles (I know Iv come off pill recently as well but last time I came off pill I have one period in a year. Acne, never really had it as a teenager, only as an adult.. Much worse off pill. And lots of pelvic pain most of cycle really. Feels like milder o pain. No excess hair and normal bmi (although a bit on the squishier side) Smile

Temp same today pretty much as yesterday. Ff saying 8dpo today but I'm still tempted to think it's slightly less than that. Sore nipples but had that last month. Nothing else to report :(

Bet you can't wait for Monday's email. Thanks for all of the explanations of what all the drugs do. So many people talk about them all the time but have never explained it quite as easily. I had a Hycosy quite a while back, it's not as bad as people say, don't google it or people will terrify you. When I had mine I was back to work straight after with no pain after the event. The procedure itself starts like a smear but then the firing of dye through your tubes does hurt but only for seconds. And just think any pain you have will be a positive side as pain means there is something that needs to be repaired which is what promotes extra fertility. Are you managing to get it on NHS? A few days after mine I also had a whole load of brown sludge appear in my pants but now I know it was just old blood and probably whatever the dye was, at the time I was terrified. They are certainly worth having. When you have it done ask if they can point out any follicles to you and if possible measure them. I suppose this depends on the time of the month you have it done.

How is your chart looking today sunny?

Good line on hpt again today at 5w. We passed my perceived danger day yesterday which is a relief and I seem to be feeling a lot calmer than before. Let's hope it lasts. Looking forward to having my blood test tomorrow, who looks forward to blood tests? Ha. And my arms are both badly bruised from Monday and wednsdays as I have awkward wonky veins.

Hi Sunny Yes you could be right about the late ov- Only thing is i usually get ov pains in the run up and I don't have anything at all so I'm pretty sure this cycle is going to be a write off but you're right I should give it a few more days just to be sure. In answer to your question, I think late ov does decrease the chances of successful implantation, but as you say at least you ov'ed which is a great first step! Smile I have PCOS, diagnosed at 15 years old- why the suspicions?

Vap Everything seems to be pointing in the right direction for you! This is fab news. I really hope your bloods on Monday show the magic 1200 or more so you can start to relax a little (I know it will never happen fully for any of us!) and enjoy being preg. Hopefully the brown spotting is just that little embie burrowing its way deep into the lining, nice and snug! Smile

Yeah provera brings on AF- I was taking it every cycle before I started ov'ing a few cycles a go. I've never had a HyCoSy before but on a couple of my follicle tracking scans some fluid has been spotted that shouldn't be there so I think its important I get it investigated before I start IVF to check there is nothing wrong with my lining. I've heard the same thing about increased fertility too- fingers crossed Smile
Because Femara isn't registered as a fertility drug, most clinics wont even entertain its use instead of clomid. I had to really push my UK NHS consultant to let me try it. But as it turns out, it doesn't do anything for me so I think clomid with menopur is the right 'next step'. MENOPUR is an injection used in IVF. It contains follicle stimulating hormone and luteinizing hormone activity. These hormones stimulate healthy ovaries to make eggs. I'm not sure why they are suggesting this alongside clomid but hopefully the doctor will explain more in Mondays email! I think realistically we are looking at January or possibly even Feb for our first round of IVF. x

Sunnydays321 · 28/11/2015 13:27

Aw vap0 glad the bloods went well and lines definitely look like they are getting darker. I know you won't be able to relax but all seems to be going well at the moment! Fingers crossed for you. Xx

Vap0 · 28/11/2015 12:53

rose I'm sorry about not ovulating. Your chart certainly makes it look like you didn't Sad. What does provera do? Does it bring on af? Have you had a Hycosy before? They are said to be good for fertility (if you are ovulating) because of the damage it causes trying to repair brings more blood to the area or something like that? Are you having that on nhs? Anxious times for you taking clomid again, would they not entertain Fermara? You didn't have any vision problems with that did you? Although am I right in thinking you didn't ovulate either and it was this cycle for your 1st try? I hope you have a better time with the clomid this time around. What happens if you have problems with your eyes again? Will you just stop taking it or have to go to a&e? It certainly is an exciting time and getting things sorted over Xmas is great! What does menopur do? Is this for fully blown IVF you're preparing for? If so, do you think you'll be able to get the transfer done before Xmas? Best of luck with it all. Keep in touch. Everything crossed for you Smile

sunny your chart is looking great! Your opk's seem to be good at helping you predict ov as well as ff so all in all great news! Fingers crossed for you for this cycle! How long have you been off the pill?

pcr are you still sick? Do you think it will go by 12w? Or are you past then? I'm a bit mad for wishing for sickness, I'm sure I'll take that back if I get it.

Good luck ladies! Flowers

Bloods went well! Such a relief! I've attached a pic that shows what they should be.

Mon was 4w1d 168
Wed was 4w3d 300

She is printing me another blood test form for next week too which I'll get done on Monday. Conservatively thinking I would hope it will be at 1200 as a minimum if things are progressing as they should.

So long as I don't get any red we will be able to get a scan at 6w!

It is looking very positive however the brown spotting has been particularly prevalent the last 2 days so who knows??

Ive also attached the hpts from the last few days. The bottom one is the strongest but they seem to be fading in my book after they have been done for a few hours so the images of the earlier ones aren't totally true. It's all looking very positive and I'm trying to stay positive but it's terrifying every time I go to the loo.

It's fingers crossed time!!

Any temping experts fancy having a look at my chart?
Sunnydays321 · 28/11/2015 12:18

Hi rose. Your chart looks more like the beginning of your September chart.. And you did ov then, just a little later. Is it worth waiting a bit to see if you OV?

Thanks, temps def stayed up, so think I have OVd don't think I'm preg tho. No sx, (I know it's too early anyway) just the nipple tenderness I had after OV last month but that seems to be going today... It went before AF last month. Hey ho. Least I OVd and that's what I was worrying about. What are the implications of oving late in terms of getting pregnant? Will lining be any good then? I OVd day 32. I think it's just all settling down post pill still but suspicious about pcos. X

RoseBud2015 · 28/11/2015 11:49

Hi ladies,

So FF took my crosshairs away and now doesn't think I ov'ed which just confirms my suspicions! Here's my chart: www.fertilityfriend.com/home/5790c0

The plan is to wait a few more days and then take provera to end this cycle and move into the next one- I want to get a HyCoSy booked in for the beginning of next cycle so the provera will enable me to control when AF comes, which is good.

Reprofit are in the process of arranging my protocol- a combination of clomid tablets and menopur injections. I'm a bit nervous about taking clomid again after my last experience of it but they know my history so I'm willing to put my trust in them. Just waiting for confirmation of the doses and a date!!!

Sunny Hello! That definitely looks like ov to me! I think FF have got the date correct so you are officially in the 2ww!

Vap How did your bloods go? x

Sunnydays321 · 28/11/2015 10:45

Any news vapo? Has the spotting stopped? Are you still getting positive tests? X

Sunnydays321 · 27/11/2015 19:59

Bonkers not bikers! :)

Sunnydays321 · 27/11/2015 19:58

Haha. Not sure what hubby would say if I started sticking thermometers up my vagina at 7am! Lol! He thinks I'm a bit bikers already considering we just said we would be relaxed and see what happens!

Had a nice little temp rise this morning so a bit further above cover line which makes me happier.

Xx

MrsPCR · 27/11/2015 14:05

I gave up temping orally as it was so inaccurate, especially if you sleep with your mouth open. Found temping vaginally was a lot more accurate and consistent but you need to do it at the start of your cycle as your temps will be higher.

Sunnydays321 · 26/11/2015 22:03

Thanks mrs pcr. Dtd the day before was pure fluke.. When I look back at this cycle we have dtd every Sunday for 5 weeks and generally one (sometimes 2) others days in the week... I think we are too tired/lazy the rest of the time! But I guess we will have to up our game if it takes a while!

That's interesting about taking temp at night. Im not sure how reliable I find my thermometer. If I do my temp more than once in the morning in a row, it's completely different, I think I put it in a slightly different place under my tongue each day.. Can fluctuate by whole points of a degree. X

MrsPCR · 26/11/2015 21:00

Sunnydays, I think it's impressive that you managed to hit the day before OV when you had no idea when your FW was!

MrsPCR · 26/11/2015 20:58

Sorry to hear you're still spotting Vap0. I remember that wait until 12 week scan was awful and I had no reason/past experiences to justify my anxiety so it must be a million times worse and longer for you. Thanks

MrsPCR · 26/11/2015 20:51

Hello SunnydaysSmile I think you have ov'd because you had other signs and your temp is definitely higher. FF may be a day out as your temps are at the different times, but it's normally still clear if you've ov'd or not. I found taking my temp just before bed, the temp was always about the same and higher post ov, but only had about 18 days to test this theory. Wink

I think you're in with a chance as definitely dtd day before. I would assume AF is due in about 10 days. Fingers crossed she's not coming, but if she is, let's hope it is in 10 days as that's a good sign of your cycles getting shorter and more regular. Good luck!

Sunnydays321 · 26/11/2015 20:39

Too not took!

Sunnydays321 · 26/11/2015 20:38

Aw bless you, you sound like you are having a tough few days. We see lots and lots of people who have spotting and even quite heavy bleeding in early pregnancy and go on to have healthy pregnancies. It's not always the way sadly, and the difficulty is you won't know until you get your results back. But try not to worry too much. Every day must feel like such a long wait. Good luck with your blood results tomorrow.

At booking it's routine stuff: medical history, family history, prev prev details, talk about screening tests ie down screening, take screening bloods, height weight, blood pressure etc. CO testing. Routine advice. Took early for anything exciting like scans or hearing heartbeat. Book your dating scan which you have between 11-14 weeks. You can find info on appointment schedule/screening etc on NICE website/Nhs website/perinatal institute/screening council website. Xx

Vap0 · 26/11/2015 20:24

Sunny that's great to have a midwife on the thread Flowers. You'd probably know more about progesterone than us. I have low progesterone too. My day 21 blood test was 27.1 and should be a min of 30 on day 21. Dr wouldn't entertain giving me any supplements though until I've had 3 mc. It's just a joke that you have to go through hell 3 times before they will help. I would suggest asking for a blood test but imagine it would be tough to get a blood test until your cycle settles down and you know when af is due.

What actually happens in a booking appointment? Do you scan then? Or just ask questions and fill in forms?

Thanks for the congratulations but I'm very concerned about it all. I can't enjoy this pregnancy as recently had a mc and this one appears to be going the same way. Any advice for me? I've been spotting for 6 days now. More like a brown discharge than actual spotting. Dr reckons it's most likely another miscarriage. Had a couple of blood tests done this week, I'll get the results back tomorrow. Do you see many ladies with a brown discharge? I'm on the brink of tears every time I go to the loo just waiting to see actual blood. Last time we made it to 4+6, today we are 4+4 so I'm sure you can imagine I'm on tenterhooks waiting for 4+6. I know there is not really anything that can be done at this stage other than wait.

Thank you for your reply vapo. You are right, as long as Iv OV'd it doesn't really matter when. It's only 1st cycle temping (although it's been a long cycle!) so I'm just a bit worried that FF was telling me my temps and OPKs disagree. I guess I will have to dtd as much as possible around positive OPKs. We didn't really make the most of fertile period this month cow I really wasn't expecting to OV. And we are supposed to be just "waiting to see what happens" rather than really really trying! Also a bit worried that temp isn't very high, isn't that related to low progesterone??

Any way. Guess I will wait and see. Yeah.. I'm a midwife as well so I see loss of people who get pregnant 1st cycle/accidentally! Haha. I do also see those who have tried for ages and it's worked so that's reassuring too. Iv seen you recently got BFP.. Congratulations!! On the midwife appointment front it differs slightly from area to area. Usually booking appointment is between 8-12 weeks. We try to do it between 8-10 in my area. You don't need to see GP unless you have complicated condition/ on medication etc. can self refer to midwife usually via your GP reception or local midwife unit. Xx

Vap0 · 26/11/2015 11:30

H sunny
I've only temped for 2 months so am not the most reliable source although rose and pcr seem to breathe charts.
I would have guessed cd32 by looking at your chart however if it was cd33 you still dtd at the right times so hopefully it doesn't matter too much. Timing does make a difference I believe as the later on in the morning the warmer you will be, although just wait for one of the others to confirm this before taking my word for it. I don't suppose you have a clue to when af is due? And in turn won't know when to test?
You're above the cover line which is good and so I would imagine you have ovulated. I suppose time will tell. I'll bet you're finding people's stories about "getting caught 1st month off the pill" or "bouncing back into a normal rhythm immediately" all pretty annoying about now. Best of luck. Keep in touch and let us know how you get on.

Hi all. Iv been readying your thread, can I join in?

I came off the pill in July. 1st period 98 days. This is 2nd cycle, started temping to make it a bit clearer what's going on. But I think FF has my OV date wrong, what do you think?? I know I had temp rise before my pos OPK, but OPK was darkest on sat day 32 (which it's put as OV day) but very obvious OV pain day 33. OPK neg by day 33.. But I had a temp dip that day.. So does that fit better with OV?

I do struggle to do temp at same time every day, don't sleep that well so wake at different times and struggle to be asleep for solid 3 hours before... Does this make a big difference?

Thanks in advance xx
