I've had the odd cramp Sammy but no sign of AF. My cycles were sometimes up to 34 days last year but since starting reflexology and taking a more relaxed approach to ttc they've been 29-30 days without fail. I wonder if maybe the upset of the failed FET has delayed things. I guess I'll have to do a test in the morning if AFs not here by then. I've got my hopes up a little bit as the day has gone on but don't have any symptoms at all. And if I was I'm sure there'd have been at least a squinter on the test yesterday pm.

Tricia - any sign of AF? I know you're probably trying desperately not to get your hopes up, so sending hugs your way. Xx

I had that 'it's not right' feeling too, but sadly told the truth about how long we'd been ttc so go couldn't refer us until the one year mark. It seems so long ago now! Xx

I went to the docs quite early really, I knew deep down something was not happening for us. Trust your instinct and ask for things to be checked out if you aren't happy.

I think sometimes that a year isn't that long. I know people have been trying for years and years. I think your mind wanders sometimes doesn't it and the what ifs come.

PMT seems to have calmed down a bit Sammy but AF is late which is really annoying as I have my hospital appointment tomorrow and may need to change my hysteroscopy appointment next week now. Am on CD 31 and cycles are usually 29/30 days. Did a test yesterday just in case and BFN. Had cramps on CD 29 and thought it was starting but nothing.

You will probably be referred for a scan Emma to make sure everything looks healthy and then am hsg to make sure your tubes are clear. Bare in mind that lots of people who haven't conceived within a year will conceive within 2 years.

I had a day 21 blood test which said it confirmed ovulation however I'm aware I could still have a blockage? It's just good to know that there are people out there who are going through the same thing or similar...! Xx

I didn't get my AMH test on the nhs until the point of referral to the fertility clinic. I had already had a private one by then, but the nhs insisted on wasting their own money on another!

What bloods did you have? The key tests are progesterone (day 21) to show if you have ovulated and AMH which identifies your ovarian reserves. Both very useful starting points. Then non-blood, you may need to do a HSG which checks that the fallopian tubes are open.

Thank you, yes my partner had his test done a couple of weeks back and my bloods came back on Friday. Both our results are good but not sure if it just stops there or we are entitled to get anything else checked. I am going in on Friday again just to see what else they can do if anything. I have been reading through everyone's posts and I can see that you are all going through quite a journey yourselves!

Well when I checked online it said no waiting list for my hospital....I imagine that if we have our tests this month then our appointment with the specialist won't be until December/January then early next year I guess. Going to ask them about the ERA and also embryo testing. Will definitely keep you posted re my implantation tests. Slightly nervous about the hysteroscopy/NK biopsy when I booked the nurse asked if I wanted sedation. The Doctor said it's no worse than the hycosy though and I managed that. DH is due some time off so he may come with me.
Am checking in from the Fertility show. Just been to a talk on immunology and going to 2 more talks this afternoon. Serum have a stall and loads of other stuff.

Hi all, I've been keeping up to date with posts on this site and find it good to read that I'm not alone. I've finally registered and feel that it might be useful for me to talk to other people who have been ttc for a while.. Seeing as every friend I've got seems to be pregnant . I've been ttc for over a year now. Hope it's ok for me to join the chat..

Just popping in to say Hi and wish you all well. We're all set for our first IUI next month, having had our pre-treatment consultation with an incredible nurse at our clinic. I took great delight in seeing DP having his bloods taken, just after being told how many injections I will have to do on myself!

Hi everyone, I'm still here. Currently plagued by horrible PMT....

DH and I have decided that November is going to be for implantation failure tests and also our initial NHS hospital appointments are this month and we will then have a break while we wait for our NHS cycle. I feel like I put everything into my fresh and FET this year and need some time out in order to prepare for our NHS cycle.

My GP surgery were able to do one of the blood tests recommended by my clinic plus an extra one that wasn't recommended. I am really lucky that I can have the tests done at my surgery, went along this morning and had about 6 vials taken!

AF is due either tomorrow or Sunday and my hospital appointment is on Tuesday so hoping it is tomorrow rather than Sunday.

Itsme, good that the waiting list is only a few months. My clinic gave me a really helpful booklet before my IVF with all the important info in and it definitely helps being on here.

Sammy, sounds like a good plan to have a scan at ov time this cycle, hopefully that will then provide you with some reassurance ahead of your cycle in the new year.

Lucie, all sounds good for your next cycle, hopefully the break will help too. You ladies may well end up cycling together.

We heard from the clinic today, they are recommending another natural cycle in the new year, providing there is no cyst at the beginning but with more monitoring. I'm not sure how I can be monitored more as was being scanned eod anyway... Are they really going to ask me to go EVERY day?!
Dh and I have also decided to pay for a scan around positive opk time this month just so we have a bit more idea of what my lining is like. I feel like knowledge is power and all that!

Thanks for your response Sammy, you made it sound quite straightforward! I know you are going through a tough time and it's hard to feel positive all the time, wishing you all the best for the new year.

I'm nervous, scared and excited to start 'trying' for a baby. Our previous efforts were obviously not going to work, now it feels we have made the decision to have a baby all over again!

Hi itsme, sorry to hear it's ivf for you - but that being said at least you have a diagnosis to work around now.

How it works and how long it will take will very much depend on which protocol you are given and how well you respond.

I had a short protocol which basically means you start injections to stimulate follicle growth and prevent ovulation around 6 days after AF starts.

Questions to ask:

Short/long protocol?
AMH score and potential risk of overstimulation?
OHSS (over stim) symptoms to look out for?
How many scans will you be needing along the way?
How many embryos will be transferred?
Day 3/5 transfer?

I can't think of anything else I would have wanted to know, mainly the overstimulation bit really as I didn't know the warning signs.

Hi all, you might remember me but I've been on and off this post getting various tests etc. I had my hsg yesterday and along with DH's low motility the consultant said It's officially IVF for us!

He said tubal blockages are too complicated to unblock with a successfully pregnancy in the end, and way more risk for ectopics and heartbreak so he thinks straight to ivf (which is fine if it works first time, but if it doesn't I don't want to be part of some moneymaking scheme..)

We get one funded round on the NHS and also, if any embryos left over that they can freeze, they can put one of those back in too.

I know nothing about IVF and have zero idea about all the injections, how long each round takes, what's the success rate etc. I go back and see him in a few weeks, then I think he said after that initial meeting it will be a couple if months for the waiting list.

So, I'm trying to be a bit clued up before then, I realise I've just gone along with what he's said and not really asked any if my own questions. What do I need to know ladies?

Sammy I know this is the toughest thing ever but it can be a good thing.

This time let year I was on an enforced break, my surgery was booked for 21st December, I was told I couldn't conceive at all until after it and not til a month after and after quite a few days of feeling very very down.

Then DH said right we are going to spend 2 months having a ball and doing lots of things we couldn't do if you were pregnant. It took some time to get my head around it but it was good and actually I felt stronger to keep fighting after the break.
