Thanks Pikz.

Lucie - I'll test again tomorrow. Xx

Pikz · 17/11/2015 21:43

So excited for you Sammy..: crossing everything

lucieloos · 17/11/2015 18:01

Mine was definitely put just after my transfer so yes keep trying.

OP posts:
loopylou1984 · 17/11/2015 17:28

Thanks Lucie. I've just done one and there is a very definite second line so it's not out my system yet. I'm not even sure I'll test, but just want to be sure that if I do I won't get a false result. Will try again on Thursday before the transfer. Xx

lucieloos · 17/11/2015 17:19

Hi Sammy, not long to go now! I tested my trigger out and I think it was gone by about 4 or 5 days. Why don't you do a couple of tests today and tomorrow before the transfer that way you will know for sure it's gone.

OP posts:
loopylou1984 · 17/11/2015 17:17

Hi ladies, quick question:
I know for if cycles they usually say 18 days until you can test, but I've just thought that surely as I'm not taking any drugs then ad will be due to arrive about 9 days after transfer.... My question is how long does it really take for the trigger to be out your system? Xx

Trixietwenty16 · 17/11/2015 13:41

I don't think so. I was kind of expecting there to be a print out but there wasn't. I took some notes about immunology but came out of that one a bit Confused as there was one Dr arguing for testing/treatment and another arguing against - still going ahead with my tests though as it won't do any harm. I went on the Saturday and there were quite a few talks I would have been interested in on the Sunday and some of the Saturday ones were sold out by the time I booked. Hopefully next year I won't need to go.

Panda1985 · 17/11/2015 12:35

Trixie thanks for that. It's kinda what I thought as I only had like 15 on one side and 16 on the other whereas my understanding was if you had full blown PCOS you'd have loads more than that. Also I don't have any of the other symptoms and I appear to ovulate. I'll see what she says when we talk next Thursday.

Just found out someone at work is pregnant, took 2 months, had to dash off to the loo. Happy for them, sad for everyone who finds it much more difficult.

lucieloos · 17/11/2015 12:24

Thanks trixie that sounds interesting. Do you know if any of the presentations for the seminars are online. The first one caught my eye about whether embryoscope and genetic testing are all they cracked up to be.

I'm not sure Panda. We have our appointment with the Dr on 22 January so I guess we will find out then, hopefully it won't be too long. Re the AMH, the result will only be high if you have pcos, not if you only have pco. My AMH is within the normal range. The Dr. at our clinic said that around 1 in 5 women have pco but not full blown pcos and the vast majority of women aren't aware as it only affects fertility when you have ovulation problems.

Sorry AF got you too Lucie. I didn't really learn anything at the fertility show, however I went to a couple of talks and I left feeling a lot more positive than when I arrived. There was a talk about coping strategies - a lot of metaphors about keeping your fuel tank full and rough seas which I liked. And also a talk by a cognitive hypnotist titled 'the fertile mind' there's loads of stuff on-line if you google it. It's not for everyone but I found it helpful.

Don't be scared Sammy, transfer it absolutely fine. I'm excited for you, not long to go now Smile

How frustrating Itsme, hopefully phoning up will speed things along a bit.

Itsme247 · 17/11/2015 09:28

Good luck Sammy!

I am so impatient but it's really annoying, I had my hsg two weeks ago, obviously find out the results there and then but had no word from our NHS consultant.

Grr!! Called up the secretary and they have a 'dictation' on file but no-ones typed it up yet to send out... Just type the damn thing!!!!!!

I know two weeks isn't a long time but to me it feels like an age.

lucieloos · 16/11/2015 18:37

Yes you would probably need it for treatment panda but not much point having it done before then.

Good luck for Thursday Sammy!

Congratulations Lolly!

Trixie - our appointment is 1pm, I'm so scared but so excited! Xx

Panda1985 · 16/11/2015 17:00

Well I'm glad the lady was kind enough not to let us waste our money. I presume though if we did want IVF at any point then we'd need the test even if it's nonsense?

lucieloos · 16/11/2015 16:21

Panda, that is true about the amh and pcos yours will be very high and so probably won't tell you that much.

Trixie, sorry about af she got me today too. Did you find out anything interesting at the fertility show?

Hi there lolly, congrats on your bfp. I can't see the pic but hope it's a good line.

Panda1985 · 16/11/2015 16:08

P.s. Big congrats Lolly! I hope those lines get darker Smile

Panda1985 · 16/11/2015 16:07

Hey Trixie sorry AF got you :( but great to hear you're upbeat. I always find the start of my cycle feels full of possibilities.
Do you know when your NHS cycle will be?
I was trying to book an AMH blood test but the lady told me there was no point if I had pcos because my results would be artificially high. She's told me to go in for a free 30 min chat instead. So we'll see what she has to say!

Trixietwenty16 · 16/11/2015 14:56

Hi ladies, AF arrived for me on Friday evening so onto cycle 24. Feeling surprisingly upbeat about things though, I think going along to the fertility show really helped.

Do you know what time you're booked in for transfer on Thursday Sammy?

Hi Panda, I have pco too. I had IVF privately in the summer and was on a low dose of meds to prevent over stimulation. Currently waiting for our NHS cycle.

lollyb20 · 16/11/2015 12:51

Panda1985 · 16/11/2015 09:41

Yes I am obviously hoping it doesn't come to that but I guess it's a good idea to know what the situation in my area is. Think I'll take a look and into it.

lucieloos · 15/11/2015 23:17

Yes panda I knew in my area that the wait for NHS was long and at 35 I couldn't afford to wait so we went private. We are having treatment abroad though as its so much cheaper than the uk. I wouldn't panic just yet. Hopefully things will work out for you soon.

Panda1985 · 15/11/2015 22:43

Yeah my parents have mentioned they'd be willing to help us out. They know how desperate I am to be a mum and they want another grandchild :) I think if nothing has happened by middle of next year we'll be heading down that route. I really hope everything goes perfectly for you from Thursday onwards x
