We have been so busy chatting I've started a new thread. Welcome all 10+ ladies. Hope we all have some luck on this thread.

Thanks banana, I guess I'm just a bit worried there won't be enough follicles there but then I should be used to that by now I guess. Dr Sher is great and so helpful. I can't believe how much time he dedicates to answering all these questions for free. Good luck with your scan today, I can imagine how nerve wracking it must be. Let us know how you get on.

Cor it’s all go, so excited for you ladies cycling / about to cycle

Boris woohoo, it’s time for liftoff! Sounds like you have a brilliant plan in place, everything crossable is crossed for you. Hope for some lovely juicy follies on Thu Smile

Lucie sGood luck with baseline - I found a baseline very reassuring as I knew there weren’t any follicles that had been recruited early that would gobble up all the stims, I’m sure you’ll pass with flying colours!

So glad you got the intralipids sorted. Dr Sher’s forum is great isn’t it? Although I must confess I did quite enjoy posting a follow up, after a post last year regarding my last cycle, he said I was heading towards an early menopause and that the chances of me getting pregnant were very very remote…posted a follow up about the outcome of my most recent cycle, and he said my 3 separate AMH levels must have all been lab errors as he couldn’t account for WTF had gone on otherwise! Confused

Sammy hope you had a fab time skiing - so so pleased you have anti nausea meds, anti emetics are just absolutely magic, and tbh even just knowing they are there is psychologically very reassuring. I hope you don’t have cause to break them open because your cycle is all unicorns and rainbows, but very glad to know you have them in the back pocket.

Itsme Hope your cold is on the mend, although pleased it gave you the opportunity to have a baby free weekend! Feel better soon Flowers

I really feel for your DH - I know I felt like much less of a woman when I found out that all the tests said my ovaries were shrivelled up prunes, often felt like the one thing I was supposed to be able to do, I apparently couldn’t. With blokes its so bound up with potency and virility, I think it’s equally tough. My DH never ever once felt towards me the way I felt towards myself, as is the case for you and your DH. Trying to reassure me that ‘it’s not your fault’ wouldn’t have really helped me particularly (he never put it like that, thankfully) as in my mind it would have just drawn attention to the fact that I was the one that there was something wrong with! For me just feeling like we were a team and were in it together - and being reminded of this - was a real help. I realise this is from the school of stating the bloody obvious so probably wasn’t terribly useful though!

Welcome bluebird - this thread is so fantastically supportive with some incredibly knowledgeable and savvy women!

Waves to star and mpp

AFM, I have been wide awake since 0330 with scanxiety - have my viability scan today and I’m absolutely crapping my pants.

DH is similarly nervous (although he’s doing a great job of being the positivity cheerleader) - he’s been on mad 2am cleaning binges when he can’t sleep, however as insomnia diversion tactics go, I am happy to encourage this one if it means the living room gets a super duper deep clean…

Brilliant Boris only a couple more days then. Fingers crossed for some nice follies Smile

Lucie I'm trying to get the scan done in my lunch break on thursay. Everything seems to be moving both too quickly and too slowly.

Bluebird hello. I share your frustration. Tests I think in my health authority they say you need to be trying for 12 months if you are under 35 and 6 months if you are over. I think it's definitely worth going to your gp now and try to get the ball rolling on tests. Say you've tried for 12 cycles.

lucieloos · 22/02/2016 19:45

Hi and welcome bluebird! I got my initial blood tests and dhs first sperm analysis after 6 months of trying. I don't know why but I just had a very strong feeling that it wasn't going to be easy for us. We kept on trying for around 6 months after those tests and then started IVF. Everyone is different though but it is probably worth a trip to your gp just so you can get the blood tests done and will have a clearer idea of what's going on.

That all sounds brilliant Boris! Glad the injections are going well and great that you have a baby bond close to work. When is your first scan?

Hi ladies, can I join?

Stats below:
Age: 29
Ttc #1
Cycle #12
Frustration level... Off the f-ing roof

Can I just ask, at what point did you all start getting tests done? I'm officially a year trying in April (29-31 day cycle).

BorisIsBack · 22/02/2016 19:14

Lucie I'm having the scans in the UK, found a local baby bond clinic - local to work but not in sight so not too much chance of being caught by work. The injections are not as bad as I feared! We have booked accommodation at the hotel Cyro - a room with a kitchenette. It's really cheap and seems ok. I'm booking easy jet flights to Vienna with flexi tickets just in case.

Hope the baseline scan goes ok lucie.

I'm so pleased to have all your company for the journey. X

BorisIsBack · 22/02/2016 19:10

Sammy I'm sure that the anti sickness drugs will help, can understand why you are nervous though.

Itsme, glad you got to have a baby free weekend, it's not what you need right now.

lucieloos · 22/02/2016 12:08

Sammy, hope it goes well for you this time. I think it will be good to have the extra estrogen and hopefully the anti sickness tablets will work well and counteract any nasty effects. I just can't wait to get started now. Got to have a baseline scan this time around when my Czech clinic have never bothered with. I'm just hoping it doesn't show up any reason why I can't get going next week.

loopylou1984 · 22/02/2016 07:49

Yes, really nice not to be doing it alone!m

Itsme - sorry to hear you're unwell. Get well soon!

I'm terrified about my cycle as the drugs made me feel so unwell last time I did a medicated cycle. Although they have prescribed anti nausea for me this time, so fingers crossed it does the trick. Xx

Itsme247 · 21/02/2016 20:25

Weekend was actually baby free in the end, had an awful cold and didn't think being around a brand new baby was a very good idea!

This is going to be a busy thread over the next few weeks I see! Good luck for you all xx

lucieloos · 21/02/2016 20:16

Eeekk this is exciting there's a good few of us starting around the same time! I am expecting af in the next 6 days or so! It's nice to cycle with others Smile

OP posts:
loopylou1984 · 21/02/2016 20:11

It's me - hope your weekend was ok, and the baby news wasn't too hard? I've spent the day with all my nieces today so I feel your pain!

Lucie - glad all is ok for your intralipids Smile

Boris!! Yay for starting :). How are you finding it so far?

Cd 25 for me, should be around four days (all being normal) until af and the i'll be getting started. Xx

loopylou1984 · 21/02/2016 17:49

Just marking my place, proper update coming soon! Xx

star1980 · 21/02/2016 09:53

Amazing Boris, delighted to hear that. Please keep us posted and best of luck!!

Lucie great news about the immunes, glad it all worked out. You must be used to doing the injections now but good luck for when you start in a week. Fingers tightly crossed that you and Boris are our March bfps!

Itsme, hope the weekend went ok in the end. It's tough being around the excitement of a new baby when it's so hard getting our own. Also hope your dh stops with the silly jealousy soon. I know it's hard for them but it's another thing for you to deal with, which I'd find annoying (I'm not very patient!).

Mpp, I decided not to temp in the end, I really need to chill out whilst there's little hope so I'm going to remind myself my cycle is 28 days regardless of what f2f is saying. Really hope your next sa is improved, good luck.

Hope everyone is well Smile

lucieloos · 21/02/2016 08:59

Wow brilliant Boris! Good luck with the injections. Keep us posted with how you're getting on. Where are you staying in Brno? Are you having scans at home or going out there for them?

Right so cycle one of ivf has started.... Thanks to all of you for support getting me here. I feel so much better now it's all about to happen :)

BorisIsBack · 20/02/2016 17:10

Lucie it all makes complete sense. I hope it works for you so you can have a baby and later a second sibling.

lucieloos · 20/02/2016 17:04

That's great news Boris that dh will be able to be there with you. I'm very independent as well but have always found it easier with some support incase things aren't straight forward.

If you had said to me last April it would be almost a year before we had another transfer after our failed one I would have been absolutely distraught but equally I couldn't face doing another fresh cycle as I would be too worried (just treating NHS as a freebie and not really expecting it to work) I also need to consider the future and want to give us as best a chance as I can of 2 babies so we don't have to go through this again. My reserve is not good so I doubt it would work out for us a couple of years down the line so although it's hard I'm kind of looking at this as trying for 2 babies so it will take longer. In some ways now I find it easier as well, I think I prefer separating the stress of egg collection and the craziness of the 2ww. I like the idea that the worst part of stimms and collection will be over and I can get on with the relatively straightforward bit of building my lining and transferring.

OP posts:
BorisIsBack · 20/02/2016 16:40

It'sme sorry lovely, hope this weekend isn't so difficult.

Lucie I think we might be ok for DH to be in the Czech Republic with me, the in laws might be able to help out with dsc. I don't otherwise have any immediate family of my own. I'm pretty independent tho. If I'm on my own I'll be ok.

Lucie the more I read about doing egg collection and embryo transfer in different cycles (the way you are so far) the more sense it makes. You can get your linning sorted if you deal with them as separate events. I'm not sure if I could be patient and wait though.

lucieloos · 19/02/2016 22:09

Boris, antibiotics are fine with stimms so long as you stop a couple of days before transfer. That's a shame that your dh can't be with you for the egg collection as that's the longest bit. The transfer is just a quick 5 minute jobbie. I have been out once on my own for egg collection and it was fine but being the first time it would be good if you could have somebody with you for support. Could you take your mum/sibling/friend along as well?

Itsme, that's hard about the weekend. I would struggle as well. We have just been away for a long wknd with super fertile sister in law who has a 10,3 and 1 year old so that wasn't easy either. It's hard with the male side of things. We have male factor too but I've always tried to make out maybe there's something with me too like my age etc even though all my tests have come back clear. I didn't want him to feel like it was all him. Although since starting IVF I haven't responded that well so now it is partly me as well with the IVF side of things so we both feel a bit responsible.

Dr Sher has come back and said day 11 or 12 is perfect timing for intralipids so that's good. I'm going to keep both appts at the moment and wait until af arrives and I've got a clearer idea of when scans and egg collection will be and then decide on which one works out best for me.

Can't believe af is due next weekend and then I begin again. I've just found at that at 36 on the NHS they only allow one embryo to be transferred. That's fine though as we were in 2 minds about how many to transfer so that makes the decision for us. We have already decided to do one at a time with our Czech ones. I'm concerned that I get premature lutenisation with fresh cycles so my progesterone starts to rise too early so the womb lining is out of sync for implantation so if we are lucky enough to get more than one blast it's probably better that we transfer one and freeze one so we can do a frozen cycle which can be controlled better.

Weekend is a bit of a tricky one, I became an auntie for the second time recently so will be full of baby news and I'll be expecting AF on Monday which will be hard to handle.

Urgh, so so bored of waiting for the inevitable! Felt the familiar pangs of AF on it's way already. It's so interesting, since it's been officially 'all him' he has been so insecure with me and other men. I recently got a new job and I caught him checking through my phone the other day. Its absolutely ridiculous so really don't care but i hate the thought of him feeling that way.

Lucie it sounds like such a pain for you to get the intripalids, I'm not sure what they are but I hope you get it sorted. It sounds like where there is a will there's a way!
