Sorry Sammy, I really wish this would happen for you and all of us. See what the next couple of days bring. It can happen with 6.5mm but I think the chances are a lot less than if the lining is at its optimum of 8mm+. There's plenty that can be done though it's just unfortunate it's all trial and error and can sometimes take more than one try to get it right. We will all get there though I just know it. Still crossing fingers for you xx

Hello thread, may I join you? Been trying for a year, had tried for 18m a few years ago with exH, both tested which showed I have slightly fewer than average eggs released each month and he had "some abnormalities", but we never went any further because we split up. Current DP is super-fertile (or was with his ex; I have two DSC) but so far nothing. I'm as regular as clockwork and was two days late, sore and inflamed boobs, needed to pee every half-hour, was feeling exhausted, dizzy, and also just peculiar, like all my nerves were tingling, but period arrived this morning, and I've just had my DPs over for dinner and found out my DCousin's wife is pregnant. SiL is too, as is one of my best friends and it just feels like it's happening for everyone but me Sad.

I've just had a cigarette and a glass of wine. Not the best idea, but meh. I'm tempted to stop trying until after Christmas, but I'll be 40 next year and I don't really have time to spare!

Am hoping talking with some people going through something similar will help as it has done for some of you. What do you do when you're feeling hopeless?

Cross posts Trixie - thank you, I'd love that to happen, but I'm not feeling positive. My lp has been 13/14 days so it wouldn't be totally strange to see a temp drop and af tomorrow. Xx

Thanks Lucie, still no af but cramps are worse and I'm sure she'll arrive in the morning.

The cut off for my clinic is 6.5mm, and they seem to have quite good success rates. However I will read up on the links you've given and do some research. I feel like I've killed that embryo with my insufficient lining :(
If I had known about this I would never have stayed on the pill for so long. No one ever told me the risks. Xx

Oh Sammy, I'm so sorry it was a BFN today. I did loads of googling last month re late BFPs and it happens. I guess you will have to see what tomorrow brings, sending hugs. The thing that confuses me is that if your temp is still high then I guess AF won't arrive and if you had a trigger for ov and no meds then what else could be delaying AF....I am really hoping its a late BFP for you, we are certainly due one!

Star, everyone I know seems to get pregnant straight after coming off birth control....I think it is taking me ages to average it all out.
I found the 12 month mark really hard. Joined this thread around then and it helped. Don't give up on it happening naturally, stay positive.
We had a failed IVF cycle in the summer and a failed FET a few months ago. we decided to have some tests for implantation failure. I had a hysteroscopy where they use a camera to check for any lesion in the lining, a NK cell biopsy and some more blood tests. The biopsy involved scraping the lining and apparently when the area recovers it can encourage implantation. Some people have a scratch done the cycle before IVF.

I think it's the thickness to be honest. It was 6.7mm when you ovulated and so wouldn't have got thicker than that after ovulation. If you look around even 7mm is too thin. They like it to be at least 8mm, preferably 9. I was surprised they did it at that thickness and I know my clinic have cancelled women at 6.5mm who are on estrogen and still have a little while to go until transfer.

There is lots of info out there like here and here The doctor who I have been consulting with recently also gave the advice in the pic to someone else.

It can and does work for some at that thickness though so you could still be in with a chance especially if af hasn't arrived and it was due today that has to be a good sign. I'm just saying that if it turns out that it hasnt worked then that is what I would be looking into as you should have good eggs at your age. I think it easily treatable too. I know it sounds weird but my clinic use viagra which seems to thicken it up nicely. It's quite commonly used in IVF clinics. Just my thoughts anyway, I don't mean to be all doom and gloom and I could be completely wrong but just trying to work out what it is for you based on my research and other peoples cycles this year xx

What do you think could be wrong with the lining Lucie? It was definitely thick enough this time . Are there more things that could be wrong? Xx

I'm so sorry Sammy it's so hard. Big hugs to you. If this doesn't work out then I think I would be looking at your lining but really hoping af will stay away for you and you will get a nice surprise in the next few days. Hang in there lovely x

Trixie - I actually tested this morning, but it's a very definite bfn :(. My temp is still up, but at 9dp5dt a positive would surely be showing on a frer by now? Feeling very low now as that was a perfect embryo stuck in with glue and I still can't get pregnant.

Star, yes, the 12 month mark was really hard for me. Try to find other things to do/think about to stop you feeling low. Distract distract distract. Xx

I'm still feeling really flat. Found out a friend is pregnant and I know she only came off the pill in May when I'd already been trying for 6 months. I didn't cry or even get upset really - feel like my emotions are a bit deadened. I know I'm only 12 months into this journey and many of you are much further along but did you feel like this at the 1 year mark? I think I'm resigned to the fact it won't happen naturally and now it's all the waiting for appointments and treatment Sad

Haha, is there anyone who wouldn't go crazy! Mind you what would they have done if you said you had gone crazy....

Looks like I'm going to have to sit this month out, still having a bit of spotting and cramping....tempted to DTD anyway but worried about the risk of infection.

Yes, sure it is normal Lucie, I guess with the biopsy they have to get a decent sample so maybe that's why I'm still suffering a bit. Have had a bit more spotting which is annoying, oh well, will be worth it to find out if there is a problem.

The 2ww is bad enough but the IVF 2ww is like a form of torture. In my fresh IVF I remember being really surprised because I had no cramps at all when AF showed up (had quite a few in the days after transfer) and it wasn't any heavier than normal. With my FET (when I was pumped full of progesterone) AF was maybe a bit worse than usual but not much. I didn't have much in the way of cramping in the lead up to test day but then every cycle seems to be different....

I'm not sure Sammy, when I've had egg collections and my transfer af was heavier after but I don't remember having really bad cramps.

I'm trying Lucie, I'm up and down like a yoyo! Lol.
The cramps are really quite bad, worse than normal at this point. Do you think if it hasn't worked all the poking around down there would have made it a more painful period? Xx

I don't think I had too much discomfort trixie. Had some light bleeding for a day or two but don't remember cramping. In sure it's normal though.

Sammy, not long to go now. Try and stay positive!

Trixie I'm ok, cramping seems to have lessened a bit this morning which for some bizarre reasons seems to be freaking me out. It's official, this 2ww has driven me insane. I don't feel any different, and I guess if I'm honest I'm expecting a bfn. I think it's going to be a down day today. Xx

Lucie did you have discomfort after your scratch? My bleeding from my biopsy has stopped but still having mild cramping on/off.

Ah, I thought maybe it would be effective next cycle too but didn't realise it was effective for three! We're pretty sure our next transfer will be our NHS go and that depends on the waiting list. I guess I could always get a scratch done privately before.

That's great all clear trixie. I had a scratch before my first transfer. It is effective for 3 cycles so should hopefully still be ok when you have your next transfer. Maybe that's what the nurse meant.

Af not due until sat or sun, but it's not unusual for me to have several days of cramping before.

How amazing if you get a bfp after your scratch? Xx

No problems at all Lucie. Just need to wait a few weeks for the bloods and biopsy to come back now. The nurses reminded me that the endometrial scratch can improve the chances of implantation....on CD12 though and Dr said not to DTD until spotting has stopped. I spotted for a few days after the hycosy so hopefully this isn't so bad.

Sammy when would AF be due to arrive? Have everything crossed that the cramping is implantation.
