I agree with star, Sammy. A holiday definitely sounds like a good idea. It will give you something to look forward to during the wait. I'm crossing everything that it somehow comes sooner for you. In the meantime, we are here for you to vent whenever you need to

Star, agree with the Christmas cycle dragging! I've now made it to 8dpo, though my chart is very mountainous due to waking up at a mess of different times. Open circles everywhere! Not particularly hopeful this month, which is good I think as I totally convinced myself that last month was THE month and fell hard when af came. It's the first full cycle since our mf diagnosis, and we only DTD once around the right time, on the day of ov. Still, at least it was our 'something new' this month. DP is religiously taking his fertilaid without complaint. When do you go back to work?

So sorry to hear that Sammy. Unfortunately with this horrible journey there is just so much waiting it's unbearable. Often I think we grieve that this didn't happen naturally to our ideal timescale and to deal with all the delays in the medical system on top of that just feels unfair. I think a holiday to break the wait is a good idea.

Hope everyone had a lovely Christmas. Im having a nice break, but being off work is making this cycle drag so hard - can't believe I'm only CD10!

Thanks MPP. I guess cancellations are possible, but unlikely. I think we're looking at a transfer date of around 3rd March. I'm wishing the year away before it even gets here. Think dh and I are going to try to book a little holiday for the beginning of feb. xx

That sucks and must be hugely disappointing for you. Is there any chance of it happening earlier? Do you have any option to phone up to see if there are any cancellations or anything like that? Apologies if that's a stupid question. I've no idea if it's a possibility or not. I'm so sorry you're having to deal with another disappointment

The clinic can't fit us in until the end of February. They're really busy and there's lots of people ahead of us in the queue apparently. Even though the consultant said he'd try to fit us in at the beginning of January. That means we have one shot at a 2016 baby. One. Totally devastated, it's ruined my last day off completely. Xx

It's not been too bad, my niece is adorable :)
I just can't believe it's been more than two years since we started trying. It's cd1 and I'm not as sad as I have been other months, I think part of me has just got used to it.

Bloody hell, Star, that's expensive! As already suggested, could you do without the herbs? It's an awful lot of money to continue with long term. How do you feel about it now?

Sending hugs Sammy! It is 100% understandable to feel that way. And this time of year doesn't help. I thought I was doing ok and then I started crying watching the sound of music yesterday (recorded the live show) and was tearful today. You're next cycle is just around the corner and hopefully this time next year things will be very different xx

I've just become an auntie for the 4th time!
For some reason I feel like I could cry... Even though I've known for 8 months she was coming. I HATE that I'm not excited for them. Xx

MPP sounds like a good plan this month.

Wow Star, that is a lot. I know the first session usually costs more because it takes longer but mine was less than £100 including herbs if I remember rightly. I then had one or two sessions a month.

I think that's a good idea mpp, they say every other day gives the sperm a chance to replenish so should help with a low count.

So I've just been for my acupuncture and I'm not sure I can afford this! OH came for the consultation after the session and ended up being prescribed herbs as well. We left the place £250 lighter with an appointment to come back in a week. That's £1000/month! It's hard not to feel silly having booked this on a whim to beat the period blues on Monday and I now have the distinct feeling that acupuncture isn't going to do much to the big fibroid in my uterus. Not sure how long we'll keep going.

Sorry for af star. It sucks that she arrived just as you were feeling better :( I vaguely looked at Chinese medicine and pointed out an acupuncture place to DP a few weeks ago, but I decided against it for now interesting to hear your experiences with it Lucie and Trixie.

Afm, i am feeling a bit better atm. I'm due to ovulate in the next few days, so DP us currently saving his boys up in readiness, as information online seems to indicate this may help with low numbers. Every other month we've just dtd as much as possible so I thought it couldn't hurt to give this way a chance for a change. Fertilaid arrived yesterday so today was his first day taking it. He says it smells awful. I phoned him at one like a right nag to remind him to take his lunch time dose. So far so good. My current obsession is googling fertilaid success stories!

Sorry for AF Star. I always found trying new things helped. I had a few months of acupuncture and Chinese herbs last year after reading good things. The herbs weren't particularly appetising but I found that AF was much less painful taking them alongside the acupuncture sessions. I ended up switching to reflexology which I find more relaxing and I seem to get the same results without having to take herbs so works out cheaper as well.
I really hope it is a short wait Star. Actually, on the subject of acupuncture, the nurse at Kings said that they are running an acupuncture trial alongside IVF.

Great that you have a big supply of meds Lucie! I've not actually got as much prednisolone as I thought so may need to get a prescription from my clinic. Hopefully your clinic here will do the intralipids to save you having to travel. I've been doing a bit of reading about the MHTFR mutation and taking extra folic acid. It looks like the problem is with the body breaking down folic acid and some articles I've read suggest taking folate instead. Most of the info online is pretty complicated to understand and there is only one page in my book on it. I just feel a bit wary about taking so much folic acid when my body isn't breaking it down properly

Urgh. CD1 today. Feeling sad and angry. But true to form I'm looking for something new to try this cycle and following up Chinese medicine recommendations. From the sound of their websites I should be pregnant in no time! Anyone else tried acupuncture and/or prescribed Chinese herbs?
