It's definitely like an extra job trying to conceive trixie! I've been taking 5mg of folic acid for a few months now and not aware of any side effects. Hope you can get the glucose test sorted.

Can I throw myself onto your bus as a temporary passenger?

I've NC recently from my old hairstylist name.

I just wanted to pop over to wave at you all. I stalk you every so often to see how you are doing!

I just got all my re- done blood tests and scans back from a fertility specialist in the UK, they are all fine and normal. After 18 months of TTC though we have not even had a hint of a second line on a hpt or so much as a delayed period. So, we are referring ourselves this week to Reprofit in the Czech republic. Lucie I hope to follow you there in a month or two :) good luck for your next go at ivf. I'll be continuing to stalk you on here looking for hints or ideas if that's ok?!

Trixietwenty16 · 06/01/2016 14:17

Great that it works out better for you with the scans Lucie and £9.99 is amazing!!

My GP is going to prescribe me 5mg of folic acid (like my clinic suggested) feels like a whopping increase and I am still apprehensive but there's no question really if it helps me conceive/ensures a healthy baby. Apparently there are several conditions where this dose is prescribed so its not unusual.
I've started on my 5mg prednisolone too plus my aspirin and other supplements in the evening so at least it feels like I am doing something.
My surgery don't do the glucose blood test my clinic suggested which is a pain. Will pick up some info about local places that do it when I collect my prescription. It's like having a part time job long term trying to conceive.

lucieloos · 06/01/2016 10:28

Thanks trixie, yes that's what I thought about af too so hopefully it will be ok to call yesterday day 1.

I've had to rearrange one scan my original ones were next Monday and Wednesday but I've now changed them to Wednesday and Friday. It works out better for me anyway as I've been able to get an earlier appt on the Friday. I will hopefully book my flight out to Czech today for a week Saturday. They are only £9.99 at the moment!

Sorry about the bfn MPP it's always devastating when you get your hopes up. I don't bother anymore and just focus on the IVF instead. Hope you can get your plan sorted soon.

Trixietwenty16 · 06/01/2016 10:13

Glad AF arrived in the end Lucie, if it was full flow then I would count yesterday as day 1 - my clinic say it is the first day of full flow regardless of time.

Sammy, have you decided on a holiday? (I'm suffering post hol blues so will have to live vicariously through you)

Star, that is good news re your appointment and brilliant that you get to see a consultant on Friday! I may well phone up. I'm due to speak to my Dr this morning though about a blood test to do with my glucose levels so hoping to fit that in before I see the consultant.

Sorry for the BFN MPP, what cycle day are you now? I think it is normal to have one or two annovulatory cycles a year - completely sucks, we need all the chances we can get.

My PMT symptoms are awful this month, probably due to poor diet over the last few weeks. The silly thing is I still find myself getting my hopes up at times even with the NK diagnosis...force of habit I guess.

MPP81 · 06/01/2016 09:05

BFN. This sucks. I can only think this is either an anovulatory cycle, or ff has miscalculated ov due to silly temp taking times. Technically I am within my usual length star. Since coming off bcp, cycles have been between 26 and 35 days, but the last three months have been a textbook 28.
I'm not as devastated as I expected to be. I'm thinking about our honeymoon, which we would have to cancel if we got lucky this month or next month. Obviously we would both prefer to be pregnant, but that and the wedding give me something to focus on when disappointments like this happen.

star1980 · 06/01/2016 06:47

Omg mpp, I'm getting hopeful for you too! Are you still within a 'normal' cycle length for you too?

MPP81 · 06/01/2016 00:51

Hi all!

Star, that's good news about the fibroids and about the appointment being so quick. I know it must be annoying that you dont have a 'reason' but hopefully you'll find out more soon.

Good news about AF too, Lucie! Does this mean you don't have to change any of you scans now?

Still no af today, and temp still up in post-ov territory. I'm thinking ff has just pinpointed ov wrong but I'm also getting hopeful now. Grrrrrr. Hardly ever poas as after the first few months, it hardly seemed worth it. I do have two frers stashed, and a couple of cb digitals leftovet from a study thing I did through clear blue at the start of last year. If af hasn't arrived by the morning, I think I'll poa frer. Still got the killer headaches though, and paracetamol aren't making a dent in them, which sucks cos I'm frantically trying to finish an assignment which is due on Friday for my OU course. Confused

lucieloos · 05/01/2016 23:18

Thanks everyone it's finally arrived but not until about 10pm so I'm not sure if that can still be counted as day 1 or if it should be the next day?

Star, that's brilliant news about the fibroids and your appt. Hopefully you can't get started soon.

star1980 · 05/01/2016 22:57

Hello ladies,
Really hope AF arrived for you eventually Lucie, and stayed away for you MPP.
So I had my scan today and it seems the fibroid (actually fibroids) aren't the reason for my lack of pregnancy. I have 4 - one is quite big (6cm by 4cm), the others are pretty tiny and all of them are all on the outside and not affecting the uterus. The consultant (who was really nice) said that there was no need to remove them as they aren't the issue and everything else looked good. So whilst I thought I was close to having a cause, it seems not.
The good news is that I then arranged an appointment with a consultant to discuss options and they booked me in for this Friday! Couldn't believe it, thought I'd have to wait weeks and weeks.
Trixie, I thought I'd come on to say that as I think you're at the same hospital and it may be worth calling up to see if your appt could get moved forward? There were a few options free when I booked.

loopylou1984 · 05/01/2016 18:04

Sorry I've been mia - trying to chill a bit as we have to wait until March for next cycle.

Lucie is dh about now? Dtd often brings on af for me? Or an energetic walk/run? Xx

Trixietwenty16 · 05/01/2016 12:31

How frustrating Lucie, did they say how long it should take after coming off bcp?

lucieloos · 05/01/2016 11:38

I'm worrying now, I had a couple of tiny spots of blood yesterday early afternoon but nothing since. Don't really feel like af is coming either. It's day 5 off bcp and I thought it would have been here by now. I don't know if the buserelin is delaying things but if it doesn't arrive today it's going to mess up my timings for everything :-(

The holiday was lovely, it was sunny most of the time and I consumed my body weight in rioja and tapas (on top of all the festive goodies) so back to the healthy eating now.

-15 Lucie! I struggle with the cold so really feel for you, hope you have got your thermals ready!

Any news MPP? Are you tempted to test? I absolutely hate being in limbo.

Star, I know, I think it is the first time in 2 years I've really not thought about it. Yes, sure the time will fly by.

lucieloos · 04/01/2016 21:59

Hi Star, I had a tiny bit of pink / brown on wiping today and have had a really bad headache so I'm hoping it means af will turn up full flow tomorrow.

Trixie, glad you had a good holiday and not too long to wait until your appt now.

MPP, hope af stays away for you tomorrow.

I checked the weather in Czech today and it's -8 snowing but feels like -15 eekk!!

star1980 · 04/01/2016 21:41

MPP, I know you don't want to get your hopes up but I hope she doesn't arrive! A high temp this morning is a good sign. Fingers crossed :)

Lucie, did your period arrive? Hope so!

Trixie, hi! Your holiday sounds lovely and how amazing you managed to get ttc off your mind. Not too long till your appt and maybe now we're back at work, the 3 weeks will fly by.

MPP81 · 04/01/2016 20:38

Hope you enjoyed your holiday Trixie! Sounds lovely, and a getaway after the madness of Christmas is a brilliant plan.

AF has not arrived here. It's actually irritating. My head is pounding (usual AF sign) so I know she's on her way but how dare she be late and make me feel hopeful when I was pretty chilled this month! I'm wondering if ff got ov wrong by a day or two. My temps have been all over the place this month due to later waking, as I mentioned earlier. It was high this morning for this time of month BUT I had very, very little sleep last night and when i did sleep I was very restless, so I think that's why. I imagine she'll be here in full glory by morning. bitch

Trixietwenty16 · 04/01/2016 16:47

Happy new year everyone! Sorry I've not been around. DH and I flew to South Spain for a few nights on Boxing day and I've pretty much managed not to think about TTC at all.

Sammy, I would definitely recommend some time away. I would go for sun too, South Spain was good and we had a break in Lanzarote last January.

Hope AF is on time for you Lucie! Also crossing my fingers for 2 lovely embryos to freeze.

Any sign for you MPP? Exciting that you're getting married in May!

Hope your scan goes well tomorrow Star, let us know how is goes.

Hi Lemon if you're lurking, hope you had a lovely Xmas an New year Smile

Bit boring here, just waiting on my hospital appointment on the 22nd....

MPP81 · 03/01/2016 22:49

Hi all!

Lucie, we're getting married in May. When we first set the date it felt like we had to wait ages, but now I can't believe how fast the times gone! Has AF arrived yet? Really hope you can have your scans when they're booked and fingers crossed for 2! :)

Good luck for your scan on Tuesday, Star. I can see what you mean about the trying in between but you never know, and if you hadn't tried you might have wondered 'what if'

Af due tomorrow for me, and I'm pretty confident she'll show up on time. All my usual symptoms are present and correct, with the exception of pre-af pains, but though that's unusual, it's not unheard of for me either. At some point this week, we'll start the ivf discussion again I expect.

star1980 · 02/01/2016 11:03

Good luck Lucie - fingers crossed for 2 embryos!

Fingers crossed for you too MPP, really hope this cycle ends in a BFP for you!

My scan is on Tuesday so hoping I'll know more about this fibroid then. It's been 4 weeks since the last scan and it's felt pretty futile continuing to try during this time but not much else I can do really.

And Happy New Year everyone!

lucieloos · 02/01/2016 09:22

Happy new year everybody!

MPP, that's really exciting you are getting married this year! What month is it?

I took my last bcp on Thursday so I'm hoping af will be anytime in the next couple of days!! Eeek it's all starting to get real again. I have my scans booked for the week after next so I'm hoping that af will be here by Monday so I don't have to change them. Really hope I can get 2 more frozen from this round. I would be very happy with that.

MPP81 · 02/01/2016 00:00

Happy new year all! Hope this is THE year for everyone!

Lucie, you're now post bc, yes? Hopefully af won't be too far behind now (seems strange saying that!) And very good way of looking at it, re: hoping to get pregnant in 2016!

Agreed about wishing your life away, Star. I've been doing way too much of that.

Have you booked the holiday, Sammy? If so, where did you choose? I hope you're feeling better.

10 dpo here, and the headaches from hell have arrived right on cue, so I'm guessing I'm out. No idea what my temp was like today cos we stayed at DP's parents last night so I didn't bother to take the thermometer - different houses and all that. On the plus side, I can now say I'm getting married this year! Exciting :)

lucieloos · 30/12/2015 18:47

Ohh would be a nice sun break for me if I had the choice. Fed up of this damp weather but I guess you need to go a bit further afield to guarantee some decent sun. We have been to Val D'Isere, Zell am See and Andorra ski-ing and all were lovely although Val D'Isere most picturesque and Zell am See lovely as they had a huge spa resort a couple of villages away, the biggest I have ever seen which was lovely to relax at on non ski-Ing days but being Austria there was a lot of nakedness Blush

loopylou1984 · 30/12/2015 18:21

Lucie, that's a good way to look at it. I really hope I'm pregnant in 2016, I'm not sure I'll survive another Xmas childless.

We're currently trying to decide whether to have a snow or sum holiday in February, any suggestions on good places to go?

Lucie! Not long for you. Exciting :). Xx

star1980 · 30/12/2015 17:10

Exciting Lucie! I have everything crossed for you for a successful round.

Mpp, hopefully that one time does the trick and you don't have a decision to make about treatment. Fingers crossed!

Back at work on 5th but I have my scan that afternoon so a nice short day to ease back in. It's bad how ttc makes you wish your life away - I'm enjoying the break but I'm desperate for my fertile period to come and then I'll be willing away the awful 2 week wait. I'm convinced this isn't going to happen naturally, at least not until this fibroid is dealt with so I don't know why I got my hopes up last month - I was completely convinced I was pregnant and so so gutted when my period came. Totally know how you feel!
