Hi (big wave)
So you clicked on here cos you were looking for me (I'm flattered!) or the title seemed interesting!
I'm aware it doesn't really explain anything but we are bunch of lovely ladies all TTC and going ever so slightly crazy with it! For more info see our original thread here -

www.mumsnet.com/Talk/conception/2412386-TTC-anxious-over-early-pregnancy-possible-symptoms?msgid=56357000#56357000

And our most recent thread here -

www.mumsnet.com/Talk/conception/2458534-Prtys-Gang-and-The-Festival-of-Foof-Fun-when-they-not-being-cray-cray?pg=1&order=

We are symptoms spotters extraordinaire - you name it we've had it, real and/or imagined confused
We are here to help, we are all supportive, we laugh, rant, cry, joke, rage, smile, and comfort together. Be you a lurker or poster (established or new) then you are very welcome here. We only have a few rules:

  1. No judgement - we all lead different lives and have different standards and that is fine. You wanna get wasted everyday of TWW, that's fine. You wanna abstain completely, that's fine. We need support, not judgement.
  2. No feeling stupid - we've all had those months where we definitely think we are pg 110% convinced and then AF turns up, don't feel bad about it, it happens. Also we all have different levels of knowledge so no question is stupid apart from the one you don't ask.
  3. On this thread there is no such thing as TMI - we are all adults and we all know how miraculous and amazing... and downright disgusting our bodies can be, it's fine. Share what you want, we will not be fazed.

So that's it, jump in and FX'd for all my lovelies xx

Yey for the new temping club! I'm on day 3 of doing it - seems okay so far! I input my temps into fertility friend app and it draws a fancy graph! My despair drove me to it too - need to know what's going on.
shary - I think being put on clomid is good - I've heard it makes you ovulate regularly so your chances of a bfp are really improved - don't be scared lovely. I practically begged my gp for some and she refused (as she's totally useless).

SharyBobbins · 29/10/2015 10:37

ShockShockShockShockShock Not had the second set of bloods back yet but my GP has just called me. He said he's had a chat with his collegue and wants to refer me to a gynecologist straight away to get me prescribed with something to regulate my ovulation- he said probably clomid. I'm really shocked & really scared!

MrsFlowers82 · 29/10/2015 09:58

Morning all!

Looking forward to the newbie temping club! There seems to be a few of us now so sure we can all help each other out.

Funny I plan to use my Ovia app to chart the temps. I use Ovia and Glow and tend to prefer Ovia. Really hoping temping will ease my mind and make things clearer. I worry I am not ovulating (never really get any EWCM and obviously not conceived yet) but also this month both apps have given me a COMPLETELY different fertile window - according to Glow it has passed and according to Ovia its this weekend! FFS!

I also have had my OH fail to finish. To be honest I think he was bored of DTD that week and totally exhausted. Sounds odd but some times it can seem that it is all on us, its almost nice to know they feel the pressure and worry too! Couldn't possibly be that I had completely ground him down and been more of a drill sergeant than a lover that week

Pirsy1 · 29/10/2015 08:51

Shary your GP sounds great and good that he is going to take advice from a colleague about the next step. He sounds very proactive!

Funny my poor DH had a similar thing a few months ago, only he couldn't 'finish'. I was a bit worried I had psychologically crippled him with DTD but the next time he was fine. I felt terrible about it though and I'm sure he did too.

I think I may need to buy a thermometer too in a state of despair. Stupidly decided to test today at only 9 dpo and obviously it was totally negative. I know it's early but there wasn't even a hint of a line. I don't know why I did it. I have started to feel like TTC is so boring and wearing now. I wish I could switch back to a time when I had no idea / didn't care about fertile windows etc, when we used to DTD because we wanted to and not because we have to because it's the right time even though neither of us really want to!

Hope everyone has a good day.

funnybeanz · 29/10/2015 08:19

Hi ladies, so also in a state of despair so I've also bought a thermometer. Looking forward to getting geeky with the charts etc although not sure how it all works yet. Do people use an app to monitor the temp?
I'm on day 7 of flashing smileys, not been that impressed with the clear blue opk, it hasn't narrowed down a fertile period and according to that I haven't ovulate, today is cd14. Also last night tried to dtd and dp got stage fright I think and just couldn't do it (never happened before). He did have a very stressful day but think he is feeling the pressure of dtd :-( so a fairly miserable time, given up for this month.
Mrsflowers - we can learn about temping together!
Shary - your gp sounds good making sure you were fitted in for tests. Fx for you.

MrsFlowers82 · 28/10/2015 22:11

Hi ladies. Well in my continued state of despair at this week's news, I have only gone and done it... I've bought a basal body thermometer. It was either that or drown myself in chocolate puddings. Arrives next week. Bring on the temping and even more crazy body analysis!! Grin ShockConfusedBlush

SharyBobbins · 28/10/2015 21:52

Pirsy the GP wanted my bloods again as I was 6dpo yesterday so it was perfect timing. He wrote the lady who does bloods a note saying "please please" fit me in as I obviously didn't have an appointment for bloods to be taken. She was lovely and squeezed me in between patients who had actually booked! The GP said he's going to discuss me with a gynae colleague as he's not sure whether to refer me for more tests or whether I should wait it out a little longer (been ttc 10 months, around 6 cycles). He was concerned that my cycles have got longer!

MrsKittenPie · 28/10/2015 20:24

funny - yes join the temping club! I never thought I would but have started this month doing it and I think I will like it. From what I can gather your temp dips at ovulation then you need 3 days of higher temps than that to confirm ovulation took place- although I do need to read up on it all a bit more Halloween Smile

MrsKittenPie · 28/10/2015 20:18

hippy - yes I totally get what you mean about temping, from what I can tell it will take the guess work out of my cycle, and to be honest all that poas, flashing smilies etc etc then taking pregnancy tests only for af to turn up was totally draining month after month. I'm pleased I've started temping Halloween Smile

MrsKittenPie · 28/10/2015 20:15

shary Halloween Grin - yes I was there with you in spirit!!

funnybeanz · 28/10/2015 19:58

Gosh, many typos! Sorry!

funnybeanz · 28/10/2015 19:57

Hi Pirsy1, I think you're right abit getting in the system with the GP. I had an apt with the GP for something else which got better so instead of cancelling the apt I went and spoke about ttc. I felt a bit daft but I'm glad I did as the ball is rolling now. We'be been ttc since Jan so I thought they'd send me away until it's been a year but the GP said the tests take a while etc so she was happy to start us now. I came away feeling a bit scared (as I wanted her to tell me there was nothing wrong and all would be fine) but really I'm pleased I went. So just to say maybe it would be a good thing although obviously I hope you get a bfp before any apt is needed!
I got my 5th day of the flashing smiley, bit sock of the flashy one now just fx for a solid smile soon! I'm considering starting temping next month, can anyone tell me what I'm looking for, is it just an increase in temp when you have ovulate? And you need to do the temping at the same time each day is that right?
Hippy - it's a good way of seeing things with your career separate to ttc. I think sometimes there's the tendeny to overly plan things rather than just let things happen. My job at the moment would be ideal if I had children, very flexible and hardly any tagets/deadlines. But I'm not feeling challenged or stretched really so wanting to do different things, which I could do but it wouldn't be as good if I was lucky enough to have a baby. Difficult. Will try and see them as separate things and look for new more challenging things as work. Maybe that will also take my mind of ttc. Glad you'require enjoying the accupunture/therapy!!
MummyBex - good luck for lots of dtd!

Pirsy1 · 28/10/2015 19:43

Hi Shary, we have been TTC for 13 months now, for 10 months of that I was working away during the week so convinced myself that was why it wasn't happening ... but I don't know, starting to think that maybe that's not just it. Don't think it will do any harm to go and make contact and get in the system as you say, plus am aware of time ticking away and I'm only getting older! Glad that your GP was supportive - what has he suggested as the next step?

SharyBobbins · 28/10/2015 19:35

Pirsy remind me how long you've been ttc for? I saw my GP yesterday & I'm so glad I did, he was lovely and I kind of feel like I'm in the system now

Pirsy1 · 28/10/2015 19:15

Bex - yay for the flashing smiley! Don't worry if you get a few before the solid one ... I was a bit worried when I got 4 or 5 days of them before the solid one.

Hippy - fingers crossed for this cycle and getting a good run of DTD! I think you're right not to delay this for your career.

I am thinking that I will bite the bullet and go to the GP if I don't get pregnant this month. I keep putting it off and say wait a bit longer and maybe wait til after Christmas but these things take time so I think I should probably just get the ball rolling.

hippybird · 28/10/2015 10:07

Hi everyone! flowers sorry about your insensitive friend. Fingers crossed for you you'll get your bfp soon too!!
Everyone else - good luck to those in the last part of the cycle, and expecting AF (or not!!) and to those in fertile window - hope you're enjoying DTD as much as poss, and doesn't feel like too much of a chore!
I'm in the fertile window of my cycle, So we're on the EOD run, which I feel won't deplete his sperm too much. This will be the first cycle where we've had a proper chance to DTD properly and at the right time since I started acupuncture, so am hoping I'll be in a better place for it this month. I'm really enjoying the acupuncture, because, apart from anything else, it's good to chat to somebody once a week. It feels a bit like therapy lite, and you get to do something practical after letting it all out.

After my panic about getting pregnant after being promoted, I'm now trying to see the two things as separate to each other. One is my career, and one my personal life, and I'm not going to let either affect the other!! And my work have taken about three weeks so far to tease me with this promotion, and still not had the proper offer. So feeling pissed off with them for being so slow, and unclear with me!!

Just to wade in on the temping thing. I'm also a bit geek-ish, like kitten, so I like having a chart to analyze. I've personally found it really useful to be able to look back at my chart and try and figure out when I ovulated. I have to say, the first month (I'be been doing it 2 months) my temps were all over the place, and that was frustrating, as I felt that probably meant I wasn't ovulating. But last month, I had quite a clear, late temp shift, and so when my period was late, i dudn't get all panicked about whether I was pregnant, as I knew it was still too early to know. Jury's still out this month, my temps look a bit erratic so far, but usually you need a full month to make sense of it.

I would say it's quite good for not making you too obsessive. As somebody said here (forgotten who, soz!), it's just about taking your temp once a day, so not too much to obsess over. No POAS 5 times a day, or smiley faces... Anyway, hope that's useful to some! Smile

MummyBex1985 · 28/10/2015 09:59

Flashing smiley face this morning for me... Fertile window allegedly starts tomorrow so that's probably right but the test line was no darker than yesterday's which is a bit odd!

How's everyone else this morning?

SharyBobbins · 27/10/2015 21:18

Kitten you're freaking me out! How did you know the GP did my blood tests again?! I said I was seeing the doctor who sent me for bloods last time! Were you with me in spirit today? Halloween Hmm

MrsKittenPie · 27/10/2015 20:01

glitter - glad you had a nice time in the lakes. Hope you're out of limbo soon - fingers crossed it is a bfp for you.
Thanks pirsy ! I've avoided temping before now but I'm actually quite positive about it. Im quite a geek at heart so hopefully it'll be interesting- plus will save me a fortune in tests as I should hopefully know from my chart whether there is any point in testing. That's rubbish about working Christmas Day- you definitely need your bfp so you can celebrate Halloween Smile
shary - when will you hear back about your blood tests?

Pirsy1 · 27/10/2015 18:15

Hi everyone,

Rose that sounds like an exciting weekend with your birthday and the new car! And lucky you to have a short cycle so that you can get trying again quickly.

Re: dual hormone OPKs the last time I used them I think I got 4 or 5 days of flashing smileys before the static one but I started testing quite early in the cycle.

Just found out today that I am working Christmas Day Sad ... really got the try my hardest now to get pregnant before then so I've got something to celebrate!

SharyBobbins · 27/10/2015 16:01

Hi ladies, re: ovulation tests & smiley faces I'm not the best to comment as I usually got 9 days of them before the static smiley due to my long cycles. That's why I switched to cheap opks because there is no messing, it's either positive or it's not!

funnybeanz · 27/10/2015 15:55

Hi all, I have been using the clear blue digital OPKS and I'm now on cd11 and have had 4 says of flashing smiley face. Does this mean I haven't ovulated or I've missed the ovulation as I only test in the morning or have other people had days and days of the stupid flashing smiley face?

BittersweetRose · 27/10/2015 14:55

Afternoon everyone. I've been off enjoying -my- our new car, and celebrating my birthday. Sorry it's been a horrid weekend for everyone.

AF was surprisingly ok, and fairly short, which was good. Back to TTC now. I'm pretty sure I ov'd late in my cycle last time with a really short luteal phase based on my temping. I'm quite pleased to have had one AF, just so I know everything is working ok post merina.

My app thinks I should ov over next weekend (I've always had a short cycle), so we'll be back to trying to DTD as much as possible this week and next. Fx'd!

MummyBex1985 · 27/10/2015 11:08

Morning everyone

It's been a crappy few days for you guys hasn't it?? Flowers

Can I ask a quick question re CB digi OPK (the dual hormone one)?

When do you usually get a smiley face? Ovia says my fertile window starts on Thursday - would I expect it around then with a peak a couple of days later? Been testing since CD12, I think my cycles are 30 days now but still slightly irregular so I want to try and pinpoint OV this month especially as I've bought pre seed in a desperate attempt to fall PG before Xmas

SharyBobbins · 27/10/2015 08:36

CD48 & just managed to make a GP appointment with the doctor who sent me for bloods. I feel sick!! Halloween Confused
