TTC #1 coming off the pill in December - anyone else in the same boat?!

Sorry to hear that Lolly, hopefully once the Dr has more information they'll be able to come up with a way forward to help. Good that investigation is underway rather than just wondering every month why it's not happening.
Oh, and if that's not a good reason for cake and ice cream I don't know what is!

It's horrible that the tests didn't give you good news but try and look on the bright side. The Dr's are now working to figure out what's wrong and once they have they will be able to come up with a way forward for you.

Hi runner, been off the pill since December with no af. So started ttc anyway. But had some tests done at doctors and looks like there more problems than I even thought about so got to have more done next week. :( definitely not a good day today. Ate way to much cake and ice cream last night lol xx

Shelf - hi ?? Nice to know I'm not the only one that can't wait to start. I just downloaded The ovia app yesterday. I know there's no real point tracking yet but it makes me feel like I'm doing something. December seems like such a long way away!

Hey can I join?

With any luck we'll be ttc 1 when my pill runs out mid December. I'm way more excited about it than my oh but he has children from previous so been there and done that lol.

I've been on the pill for about 2 years and had been reading in the instructions that once I stop taking it I'd be able to get pregnant straight away but this seems to be different to what you guys are discussing which is a bit confusing.

I'd love to be able to start buying for the baby now as I'm ocd about preparation (reading everything I can, pinteresting like mad) but I think oh would think I'd lost it so waiting until actually pregnant. Wait is driving me crazy though. I'm litterally counting days!

Our plan is/was to start TTC in December but the work situation is a nightmare at the moment, I'm on a redundancy warning and DH is about to be. We'll find out if either of us have a a new job in the same company in November, but by then we'll be living in different countries until at least Chirstmas. Grr... I'm tempted to suggest I just stop the pill when I finish this pack - chances of me falling pregnant are minuscule but at least then I'd be almost through the pregnancy by the time I was made redundant and the package would be nearly equivalent to my maternity pay. But if the job doesn't come off and we start in late Dec when we are back together it would be nearly impossible to get a new job if I were laid off when I were visibly pregnant (but still months off maternity leave) - the whole blinking process until we both actually know the final outcome could be 8 months! I'm nearly 35 so don't have that much time to play with - but then don't want to rush into TTC if it isn't financially sensible.
This whole TTC decision is so tricky - I guess there is never a perfect time!

I had such a weird dream about having a huge baby bump and needing stretch mark cream last night! Definitely think this TTC thing has permeated into my subconscious!

My OH said to me last night, so as of Wednesday are we officially TTC then and I was like eeek it suddenly became even more real.

Shelb you definitely are not the only one getting over excited!

I have started bidding on things on Ebay now ahem... I blame Starky.
DH says he's coming round to not waiting and TTC sooner...... eek!

I really don't know how to reign my excitement in. I'm now addicted to MN looking up absolutely everything I can- even birthing horror stores, just so I'm fully prepared.

Just testing for everything I think. They took enough lol.
I always look at clothes and things while I'm out. OH has to drag me away and tells me to wait :( xx

We are in the process of looking to buy a house, when we are browsing online I keep thinking that would make a lovely nursery people would probably think I am bonkers.

Ha-ha thanks bunch it just seemed like a good idea at the time, and I love to stockpile! I love Pinterest too! It's virtual hoarding without the clutter! the way I'm looking at it is, if I buy super reduced stuff, the things like plain babygrows for 0-3 months might only get a few wears before they are grown out of, so if they were £1 then I've prematurely saved the other £5!

Amazing Starky I am so getting on that! I've pinned everything I can but I keep seeing bargain sling/wraps and cloth nappies on eBay..... Maybe he'll see the sense of getting then whilst they're available! You are a genius

bunch I've already started crocheting baby blankets! And if we see babygros, hats etc severely reduced, we buy them and out them in a secret drawer! We saw a Moses basket in a charity shop while we were dropping stuff off the other week and had a debate on whether to buy it or not! And we haven't started TTC yet! (We decided not to on the grounds that it would be a pretty obvious purchase and we have nowhere bar the loft to store it spiders blergh and I wouldn't want it kept out in case it was spotted and assumptions were made by family members!
