TTC #1 coming off the pill in December - anyone else in the same boat?!

Hi,

I am going to be coming off the pill after ten years plus on it after my pack finishes in December. Excited but also terrified about what my body is going to do once I'm without all the hormones!

Anyone else doing the same roughly the same time?

Shelb x

Sorry you got BFN Ni but nothing's certain until you get AF until then you could still be pregnant.

Ni4444 · 31/10/2015 10:52

Runner I hadn't thought about a book, but that one is really cute! Good idea!

Ni4444 · 31/10/2015 10:50

Morning ladies! Yes, a lot of attention for my morning wee!! It was negative! Pinklily I woke at 7 dying to pee so I didn't tell him I was doing it...but he knew when I took a few mins to come back! I'm not upset, but I'm surprised-ive felt so weird! When AF arrives I'll believe it! If it didn't work this month I'm gonna be seriously on it next month. Has anyone found ovulation tests useful? Or was the general consensus that EWCM is the way to go?

Hi all,
I went on the pill aged 18 and was on it until six months ago (am now 32), as my DP and I decided my body probably needed a break and it might take a while to "normalise" after so long on Microgynon. Before I went on the pill (my periods started age 11), I was quite irregular and my cycle was around 40 ish days- so I was really surprised how quickly I regulated this year. I've been using Glow app recently to look at my cycle and its bang on its predictions. I have definitely noticed more pain at PMS and that I am more hormonal- although DP says I'm at from unbearable, just a bit argumentative!! We are just using the withdrawal method, risky but I guess but no accidents yet. We are intending to start trying in Jan, but I'm so impatient I want to start now. However with his job in military we need to plan it right so he'll be in the country for the birth. I'm hopeful that when we try it'll happen in Jan straight away!
I can't stop myself you-tubing episode after episode of one born every minute!!!

BunchOfBobs · 31/10/2015 10:34

Good luck Ni.

You do realise you have a gang of female strangers awaiting the outcome of your morning pee Wink

shelbTa · 31/10/2015 08:36

Good luck for today ni!

Morning ladies

Ni - good luck for today. Are you going to have OH waiting outside while you do the test or are you going to sneak off and do it and then tell him the outcome?!

Runner05 · 30/10/2015 23:01

Maybe, she looked like a stroppy cow to me though and she wasn't really that bright. Honestly, having to go and get someone to confirm shed added it up correctly Hmm

Just been looking online for a pregnancy diary. Anyone else planning to get one? I think I'm going to get this one www.notonthehighstreet.com/fromyoutome/product/bump-to-birthday

Ni4444 · 30/10/2015 22:53

Yeah saw apprentice...she'll be next out! Maybe they just kept her for some drama --easy viewing for the guys--

Runner05 · 30/10/2015 22:36

Freudian slip Bunch ? Wink

Good luck for tomorrow Ni, you're never out until The witch arrives.

Spent the evening watching OH doing a gig at a local pub. Back played me up a bit but the band were sounding really good tonight so I was suitably distracted the cider helped too

Btw did anyone see this weeks apprentice? I don't agree with the one he fired, I tho it should have been the other one.

Ni4444 · 30/10/2015 22:11

Ah it worked! I'm so behind the chat now!

Well I hope you're all having lovely evenings! OH treated me to surprise dinner out which was lovely. He thinks I'm mad testing tomorrow but trying to explain that I don't want to be testing on a workday! I need time to deal with whatever the outcome is!! First test is bought ladies... If it's negative I'm not sure I'll believe it anyway until AF arrives!!

Ni4444 · 30/10/2015 22:06

having problems posting all day so just testing this out

BunchOfBobs · 30/10/2015 18:35

*pregnancy not sex!! Gah

BunchOfBobs · 30/10/2015 18:34

That kind of makes sense harriet. We're programmed to be in the mood more when fertile, natures way of getting us to procreate I guess.

My husband on the other hand has massively taught me the lesson of not telling him when I'm fertile.

Currently he's all "see I'm coming round to the idea more" as he wants a jump all day. I'm sure it's nothing to do with the fact I've told him i'm due on any day (and therefore he knows sex is not on the cards) !!

harrietm87 · 30/10/2015 17:15

I use ovia! I just fill in whether I'm on my period and whether or not I've had sex. It's funny to notice the patterns - we definitely dtd more when I'm fertile, even though not TTC yet! No way could I be bothered entering all the glasses of water etc!

Runner05 · 30/10/2015 15:46

I use Ovia too but I don't bother with the food and drink but, I fill nearly everything else in though.

Pinklily1 · 30/10/2015 15:28

Hi all

Sarah - I dropped a lot of hints a while ago, but then thought I might be pushing the point a bit much, so have backed off a little - I know he wants us to be engaged, its just all money money money at the minute, and its all going out to house, holiday etc!

I've been a bit more forward thinking about Christmas this year, to try and spread the costs, so I've done a fair bit of the shopping already. I'm not usually this prepared in October though!

Shelb - are you putting in all the info Ovia asks for? I lost the will to live when the app asked me to record what food I'd had that day, drinks etc! Would like to preserve with it though so will give it another go.

Runner05 · 30/10/2015 15:23

Hi Shelb read the instructions on your pill. My pill used to break for a bleed and the instructions say that it should stop ovulation but it doesn't for everyone. For some people it prevents implantation and sperms getting to the egg. Based on cm I think I ovulated on the pill every couple of months so if your pill is similar then it's possible.

Oh, and Christmas I'm running around a lot! I do Christmas with my mum Christmas Eve, Christmas Day we have my partners kids for the day, then Boxing Day we spend with my partners dad and brother. I then take my mum out again after Boxing Day.
what are you up to?

sarah you are crazy organised even by my standardsGrin

BunchOfBobs · 30/10/2015 15:10

shelb I got ovulation pains every few months whilst on the pill.
It can still happen, the pill is supposed to a) stop you ovulation and b) thicken your ?cervix to stop the swimmers getting through both independently stop you getting pregnant so it's not an issue if you still ovulate.

I have only got the babies of the family bought for Christmas. Though I know what I've to buy for most of other people. I still need to order Christmas cards, which involves getting a photo of the dog first...

The kitchen is currently taking all my Christmas prep talk. I'm building cupboard carcasses as we speak!

shelbTa · 30/10/2015 14:46

Thanks Sarah. It's very strange! can't wait to come off pill now to see what my body actually does.

SarahLou89xx · 30/10/2015 14:41

I don't think you would still ovulate on that as it prevents you from ovulating by tricking the body to think you have already ovulated so you can bleed every month. It may be that you still feel ov pain as your body is going through the motions but not actually doing it, if that makes any sense lol!!

Maybe check with your doctor to be sure or monitor cm to see if you get egg white type cm.

Hope this helps xx

shelbTa · 30/10/2015 14:35

Hi Shelba

What pill are you on and do you have a break every month to bleed or not?

xx

shelbTa · 30/10/2015 14:27

Runner - I love Christmas! Not bought anything as yet but will do come payday. What do you do for Christmas?

Can I run something by the group - I'm on the pill (obvs) but I'm still tracking stuff using ovia, just for kicks. Recently I've found that during the time when it shows I should be ovulating, I get a really bad pain in my groin, only on one side, and get really nauseas. I can't be ovulating on the pill, can I?? I've googled it to the point of insanity.

Hi all

Pinklily - start dropping those hints, its always when you least expect it. I had given up dropping hints and then out of the blue he popped the question :)

Runner - I have nearly finished my Christmas shopping and am half way through writing out my cards lol!! December is a very busy month for me as I am a waitress and I do not have any energy for battling the shops haha!!

AF has just left for this cycle might start trying this month........:)

Best of luck to you all xx
