TTC #1 coming off the pill in December - anyone else in the same boat?!

shelbTa · 28/09/2015 08:22

Hi,

I am going to be coming off the pill after ten years plus on it after my pack finishes in December. Excited but also terrified about what my body is going to do once I'm without all the hormones!

Anyone else doing the same roughly the same time?

Shelb x

(Hope this goes through struggling to post)

Shelb you'll get a different opinion from everyone you ask about stopping the pill half way.

When I was planning to do that in December I was just told to go for it, if you cycles going to be a mess it's unlikely to make any difference waiting until the end of the packet.

shelbTa · 02/11/2015 10:11

Bloody hell bunch, dawn dipping, this is exciting!!! Fingers crossed for you.

You too ni! And the sleep thing, hell yes, that is going to be tough. I'm so ratty without sleep.

Ladies - I really just want to stop the pill now - tell me I'm right to wait until the end of the packet so that everything is as normal as poss cycle-wise, yes??

Oh bunch, 4am poas...what a mission!! Crossing fingers for you though xxx

Runner05 · 02/11/2015 09:43

Shelb eek! It's the final countdown!

Ni I'm on day 9. I'm not using sticks just temping, recording cm and shagging whenever I can!

Bunch stupid cheap tests Sad hopefully you'll get a positive on Friday to make up for it!

BunchOfBobs · 02/11/2015 09:22

Morning all,

Runner eek, how excited are you?

Ni sounds like we may be on a similar cycle. AF has been due for me since the 30th, so anytime now for me.

Because of that I took another test this morning. I can tell you trying to collect your pee at 4am when half asleep in the dark is not much fun!

Stupid internet cheapo dip sticks got my hopes right up though. Thought I saw a vey vey faint line...: turns out it was the imprint area for where the bfp would show up! I compared a none dipped stick to a dipped stick. It was there on both. FFS!!

I will test again on Friday if still no AF but I'm not hopeful.

Ni4444 · 02/11/2015 08:55

Morning ladies!

Shelb the sleep deprivation will be a nightmare! I'm getting as much time in bed as I can while I can!.. Totally running late for work as a result!

Runner welcome to the excitement!! What day are you on? This should be day 1 for me...AF is due!

Me and the Oh were totally broody over friends baby at the weekend - we're so obvious!!

shelbTa · 02/11/2015 08:07

Ooh good luck runner!!

Are you using the sticks to work out right time or just guessing?

I don't know what possessed me but last night I decided to have a look at the sleep forum on here. Omg. I'm never going to complain I'm tired again!

How is everyone?

Eeeek Runner - that's so exciting!

Will have a look at that website, thanks for the link.

Runner05 · 02/11/2015 06:38

Have you looked at this website Pink pregnancy.familyeducation.com/first-trimester/1-week-2-days.html
It's a day be day description of your cycle and pregnancy.

I'm just over half way through what to expect determine to read it as I paid for it but I'm hating every minute it just explained what everyone means by choosing a cut or a tear... Can I just say a resounding ouch, ouch, ouch, ouch, OUCH!!!

Ps, we are now actively ttc, eek!

Pinklily1 · 01/11/2015 17:06

Good point Runner, I definitely need to read up more! The one I saw was a day by day guide to pregnancy, which I quite like the idea of. Will have another look.

Runner05 · 01/11/2015 16:02

Pink if you like the look of a pregnancy book I'd buy it as lots of them have preconception advice in them.
I think I'm going to move on to buying first time parent books as with everything I've read online I think I'm probably at the stage where there's not much else I can learn from a book when it comes to pregnancy Smile

I've just finished my Christmas shopping. I think this might be the earliest that I've ever reached the finishing point.

Pinklily1 · 01/11/2015 10:35

Amazing make up Bunch!

Runner - such a lovely idea to keep a pregnancy diary.

I've had a little look at pregnancy guide books, there seem to be a few decent looking ones, but i'm trying to hold off buying one until we are actually pregnant! Pretty sure i'm going to fail at that one.

shelbTa · 01/11/2015 10:01

Hi everyone,

Bunch that's ace!!! Did you do the make up yourself?

Ah ni sorry it was a bfn. Starky that sucks, it must be such an emotional rollercoaster once you actually start TTC.

Pinklilly - yeah the upside is the fizz at Christmas I guess!

All the little tots tot'ing last night made me really broody!

Love the pick Bunch

I won't go into detail but I didn't really get to do the childhood thing, I've also lost most of my childhood memories due to trauma and there aren't many photos or things from my childhood so I feel really strongly about recording things for my child so that they always know that they were loved and wanted and considered precious from before day 1. Told OH I bought the journal and he thinks I'm a soppy old thing Hmm

I'm not that worried about people noticing I'm not drinking... They'll just think I'm being odd again and forget about it.

BunchOfBobs · 31/10/2015 23:05

I've been "trying to be good" for the last few visits and not drinking with family much. I'm also famous for never finishing my drinks as I talk too much so that'll be a good cover for me anyway when the time comes.

That diary looks adorable. My mum wrote one for me and it's so amazing going through it with her. She is able to relive those moments as she put them down on paper. It's lovely. I definitely think I'll get one too. That's a really sweet idea writing letters.

Happy Halloween all .I've just had the delightful task of scrubbing this muck off mine and dhs face. - we went all out to greet the ToTs.

How very un MN of me posting a pic of my kipper. At least I'm in disguise!

StarkyTheDirewolf · 31/10/2015 22:04

I drink bitter lemon, most people don't like it, and you can't smell gin in it especially with a slice of lemon/lime. But then I've not been drinking the past few months as it is, and DH doesn't drink, so my family wouldn't think it was unusual that I wasn't drinking, I'm seeing it as playing the long game Halloween Grin

I'm watching TV with my Dsis while DH is at work. Happy Halloween indeed all! Halloween Smile

Ni4444 · 31/10/2015 21:35

I'd be happy to sacrifice the booze for Xmas... But how to do that without people asking questions...that will require some good answers and sneaky strategies! (tonic without gin?!)

Tucked up on the couch watching a scary movie...OH has fallen asleep! Happy Halloween! ??

Runner05 · 31/10/2015 21:06

Well, hopefully you'll talk him round stark after all, there is no perfect time. And at least you and Pink can enjoy all the Booz floating around at Christmas... Im not looking forward to the possibility of a T-total festive season Confused

StarkyTheDirewolf · 31/10/2015 20:51

Basically, Whenever he decides to stop being a complete moose knuckle and agrees! Grin no, we had initially said January, then it moved to March, then year after, then back to next summer. If I caught now accidentally he'd be over the moon, but he just wants everything sorted (he wants to retrain) before we do. I've told him, sooner or later I'm going to steal his sperm in his sleep or start poking holes in the condoms...luckily he's understanding of my 'sense of humour" Grin

It in all seriousness, it will be "at some point, after the new year" Halloween Grin

Pinklily1 · 31/10/2015 20:05

Haha, love the "wiggling his willy near you" comment Runner, made me choke on my wine!!

I suppose January is only two months away, and at least I'll be able to drink over Christmas.

Starky - when in the new year are you going to start trying?

Runner05 · 31/10/2015 19:44

Aww Stark that sucks. I would inform your OH that if he insists on wiggling his willy near you, there's a chance you'll get pregnant Wink
When are you starting to ttc again?

Pink January will soon be here and you'll be completely distracted by Christmas soon Wink

Pinklily1 · 31/10/2015 19:24

Hi Hopeful - welcome!

Sorry to hear about the BFN Ni - onwards and upwards for next month. Sex, sex and more sex!

I'm getting increasingly impatient, just want to get TTC now but OH not budging from January unfortunately.

StarkyTheDirewolf · 31/10/2015 16:51

I had a 'I might be pregnant' moment earlier this week, then AF happened and I was all maudlin for about twenty minutes, then I told DH, his response "I didn't know we were trying yet! I thought that was next year!"

Sorry about your bfn ni.

I use the mydays app and was testing (with the cheapy ovulation tests from wilko) on the predicted day. I've stopped for a bit now because I decided to wait until we are actually TTC!

Runner05 · 31/10/2015 16:01

Welcome Hope

So I caved and bought the pregnancy diary. I shouldn't have as it doesn't start until week 9 but I really love the idea. When we decided to try I sat down and wrote a letter to our future baby (didn't tell OH as he would think I'm mental) and I'm intending to continue writing letters as our baby grows up and the journal really fits into that idea.

Right, as I'm not preggers yet I'm off to the pub!
