Welcome Secret. I love a good wedding - did you find a year was enough to plan, too much or just right? I'm not engaged yet but always wonder how long you actually need to pull it all together.

I hadn't thought about nappies. Will probably go with disposable it I am honest, just for the ease.

Eek exciting moment. Just got a call from a client who needs me at the end of this week or beginning of next week to go away for them. This means ticking off one of the boxes of he DHs for hesitating. Apparently once it is ticked off it'll be excitement all around from him yaaaaayyy!!!!! In sure then he'll find another reason for wing scared but eek eek yay anyway!! And whilst away I have the opportunity for countless hours of crocheting. I can make a boob hat army! Starky we can set up a shop haha.

Wow, I've not thought about nappies or slings or anything like that yet!! I'm loving the crocheted creations (especially the boob hat!)

Thanks for the antibiotics tip bunch! I won't be using that then. I've just cut down on what I drink socially, but haven't completely stopped. I think if this process takes time and I'm not drinking now, imagine how difficult it will be when you do get upduffed!! People will be wondering about the longest pregnancy ever!

Hello secret - this thread is v useful as we're all in a similar position! I'm on month 2 of TTC, currently awaiting the dreaded Witch.

I find the whole work thing so irritating. It's a sad fact that although the law is on our side (supposedly), there are employers out there that will penalize women for starting families. I'm glad I'm now working for somewhere that seems more child friendly than my last job. Can't believe what your boss said bergamot - that's terrible. You just carry on with your life and f*ing ignore her. It's most definitely her problem!! She must be so insecure to put those kinds of conditions on you.

And Runner - hope your back gets better soon, and chin up as things will improve overall I'm sure Here, have some cake as well.

I think reusable nappies are so much easier these days. You can get all in ones which work just like a disposable that you just put in the washing machine. I like the look of the bumgenius ones.

I would love to breastfeed but depends if I can or not( hopefully I can!)

I have considered reusable nappies but think I need to do some more research into them before making that decision.

I have problems with my back and hips and take a lot of pain relief so that is one thing I am not looking forward to about pregnancy. Do slings put lots of pressure on your back?

Still trying to convince OH to start sooner than our planned Christmas start (am ovulating today!)

It's definitely a strange feeling. Photos and videos bring it all back and I feel like I can't cope with the fact. That's it. The day is over and it isn't ahead of me. Pathetic I know, as it's only a wedding but just how I feel.

Baby planning is definitely helping me move forward. We've been together v almost nine years, yet I feel like the wedding really was the start of our next chapter - roll on coming off the pill. I'm on my seven day break and so tempted to just not take it on Friday!

I'm another one for loving the idea of reusable nappies. I've been doing some research too, my mum had me in Terry towling nappies and she said the amount of washing was horrendous, but washing machines have improved since I suppose.

Congratulations on the weddings you guys! I want to put my wedding dress on now! Got married in May, but we have maybe 2 useable photos and they're not good, I haven't got any printed off, its too heartbreaking! So I'm all up for getting on with this baby so I can have reasons to take photos and video!

I've no idea how long my cycle is is that bad I just go off approximates on the app. I think I'm nearly at a fertile week. Possibly. I should really get on and check that!

Gosh I hadn't thought about nappies! I'm usually all about eco stuff but reusables sound like a lot of work. I remember my Mom moaning about having to use them when we were small, but I guess they've improved a bit since then. I must do more research!

Shelb it's day 30 today so not the longest post pill cycle, it's just that in my head I was expecting 28. I think I might just test again tomorrow just to see. That way if it's just a late cycle I can enjoy the weekend!!

I'm a dance teacher in primary education so I'd like November/December baby ideally - can't bear the idea of an August one - terrible isn't it!!

I know what you mean - we were busy most weekends with wedding planning that I now need to fill the time (hence the baby planning). I was quite relieved to be all done with wedding things to be honest after a year of planning.

We originally said we would start TTC in December as I am a teacher and a September baby would be perfect for maternity leave (but it probably happen that way) but within a week or so being on here I just decided to go for it so we're TTC now. So I'm a bit of a fraud on this thread.

I put the dates into the due date calculator and if we're successful this month the baby would be due on our first wedding anniversary.

Ive been reading this post for the last couple of weeks with excitement. I got married in July to my husband, we've been together for nine years next month. I'm 28 in a couple of weeks and babies are all I can think about and dh too!! I've been on logynon for 8 years and we're going away for a couple of weekends in December, pill packet ends 21st of December and we've decided to come off the pill then. I'm so scared because I don't want to get my hopes up too quick and then panic we won't be able to conceive. I think I'm like some of you here - just want pill to finish and conceive within about three months would be just lovely!

Hehe Bergamot I knew what you mean. I'm getting them second hand, you can get really good deals. Also councils offer money back incentives, mine offers £100 back with proof of payment which actually makes brand new a lot more affordable. I'm thinking I'd just buy new liners as I don't like the idea of stained ones. I want bamboo or hemp. And I'm also getting reusable wipes.

I have everything planned ha. Even to how I want the placenta delivered!! I'm being obsessed thorough!

Ooh Bunch - most of my googling revolves around reusable nappies (all done in private browsing mode so no one knows I'm a mad woman). I'm def going to plan to use them as want 2/3 so it will save in the long run. Though the ones I like the look of are about £20 each so may aim to get those second hand (which I've heard isn't as gross as it sounds)

Yeah, I don't think I will drink. We had a really good weekend where I planned that that would be the last time I drink until AF (which fingers crossed won't arrive). Think it bothers DH as this is the first sign that things might change. Despite having unprotected sex every other day (and me lying with my legs in the air) I don't think he can get his head around that I could possibly get pregnant. His poor head is well and truly buried in the sand.

Oh well - he'll be thrilled when I tell him it means I can drive us there

Bergamot personal opinion of course but I have been cautious. To the point of suffering twice this month with an almost unbearable headache and can't take anything more than paracetamol- which does nothing.

No dippy eggs, No Brie, pate, cold shellfish, no alcohol.
A reason to be pleased when AF arrives (minus the disappointment).

I went on eBay for the slings. They stared at such low bids that I could resist. Has a few days of madness and bid on ALOT of stuff and ended up winning 3. A bit insane as I didn't actually think I was going to get any. I'm mostly chuffed with my woven sling. Second hand they sell for £40-£60 and I got one for £12!! Then I got two stretchy wraps, a Moby and a Boba wrap.

I'm planning on getting all stuff second hand apart from car seat and crib mattress. But I'm my getting any more until expecting. Though there isn't much more needed.

I'm part way through crocheting a blanket now too....... I need stopping.

Personal choice I reckon Bergamot. I've been erring on the side of caution just because it gives me something to feel like im doing in this uncontrollable process!! But many people don't realise they're pregnant for weeks and eat and drink as normal with no problems. So I guess it's about doing what feels right for you. No alcohol, or one glass instead of three...who knows?!
Still no AF...trying not to think. No slings or baby equipment yet here...may borrow from Mummy friends and be sensible and save the money (although it would be lovely to splurge and get all new stuff for baby 1!) Love the idea of slings though.

Morning all,

I plan on breastfeeding and using a sling. We have lots of woods near us and can't imagine struggling round them with a pram. All family and siblings have breastfed so getting boobs out in the middle of a cup of tea is very normal.

Bunch - I want a co sleeper crib too. Though think due to our bed room DH and I will have to swap sides of the bed which, after 7 years, is difficult to comprehend.

Are you guys planning on not drinking during the tww? If I do manage to get pregnant this month I will currently be about 1/2 days pregnant now. Going out for dinner and drinks tonight and DH thinks it's silly to put life on hold just in case and that loads of people drink without knowing they are pregnant until missed period. But I wonder if it's better to er on the side of caution.

40 stitches?! That sounds horrendous. You do read that once it's all over you forget about the pain though. I'm hoping when the time comes I will have a water birth, but we'll see.
