TTC #1 coming off the pill in December - anyone else in the same boat?!

Hi,

I am going to be coming off the pill after ten years plus on it after my pack finishes in December. Excited but also terrified about what my body is going to do once I'm without all the hormones!

Anyone else doing the same roughly the same time?

Shelb x

(Hope this goes through struggling to post)

I dont think I saw that Runner. What was the reason?

I wonder who is gonna be the first of us to get "upduffed"?! Can't wait to see!! There's bound to be at least one in the next month!

Clearblue ovulation sticks arrived in the post this morning. Looking forward to trying them out! No matter what new thing I pick up, I always love the gadgets that go with it Grin

Runner05 · 07/11/2015 20:38

Hi Nant

No more news here Mor still have flutters but nothing much else. But I've got a I'm only a few days post ovulation so I'm sure I'll imagine some more symptoms soon Wink

Did anyone see the scary article about not letting babies sleep in car seats the other day? Never occurred to me that a baby shouldn't sleep in a car seat, that's why I was getting a pram with a car seat attachment. I may re-think that now!

Morwenna1 · 07/11/2015 19:09

Had to laugh at the farting chihuahua Stark! Grin

Morwenna1 · 07/11/2015 19:07

Hi Nant! Welcome to the group.

Runner - anymore news?!! anymore flutters?! Well, I am on CD27 and I've had cramps but no sign of her yet... my average is around day 27, so I'm expecting tonight/tomorrow morning for the Hag to put in an appearance...where's that Brie and red wine! Felt like crap today and the PMS has truly kicked in!

We were debating whether to go and see some fireworks, but have decided to stay indoors where it's less windy instead! We can see lots from our windows!

NantucketNightbird · 07/11/2015 18:58

Google call the midwife baby blanket, it featured in a Christmas special when the young girl left her baby. I found the free pattern on littlemonkeyscrochet.com. I have found lovely traditional patterns on just crochet. I'm just upset now that I sold my pram last year when I moved. It wasn't to many peoples taste but it was a beautiful inglesina classica. I think DH would murder me if I bought another but he will be ok if I get a vintage coach built or a brand new pink Kensington

StarkyTheDirewolf · 07/11/2015 18:44

I've used YouTube for all my bonnets nant I'll find some and link you to them on here. I haven't seen the call the midwife blankies though! Going to have a look now! Which website do you get your patterns from? Wow! 10 lbs 7oz!! Shock

ni you'd think my two were cats! Two Chihuahuas who are now sat next to me one of them is farting like a champ, can't work out which one though!

NantucketNightbird · 07/11/2015 18:35

Oh and you will all have to excuse my spelling and lack of paragraphs I'm quite often rushing to post on here. I've enjoyed reading all your posts Smile

NantucketNightbird · 07/11/2015 18:33

I have 4 children Smile ds almost 12, ds 8, dd 5 and ds 3 (next week). I'm quite lucky that DH has two jobs one being a singer so he is out 4 nights a week but it means I can be a sahm.
He is out tonight so I'm going to watch doctor who and go watch some obem in bed with icecream.

I don't do pregnancy very well I have pernicious anaemia and I'm a vegetarian so I end up with everyone on my back as I get quite ill. I've had 3 easy births with just gas and air/no stitches but I did have a retained and ruptured placenta with my second which was just awful. But my youngest was an emergency csection 2 weeks early weighing 10lbs 7oz.
Starky have you tried to crochet the call the midwife baby blanket? There is a free pattern online it's lovely. I've started it today. Has anyone seen any plain traditional bonnet patterns?

Ni4444 · 07/11/2015 18:07

Welcome nantucket! We're all newbies to ttc here so we bow in respect at your mummy knowledge!! We don't know what we're letting ourselves in for! Any useful ttc or pregnancy tips? How many little ones have you got?

Starky I'm jealous of you chilling on an evening with your dogs. I'd love a puppy! don't tell my cat Said kittycat and I are making the most of another night in without the OH a very rare thing usually we're thinking of doing everything he would disapprove of...black and white musical perhaps! Making the most of AF continues with the rest of the wine and red velvet cake Smile

StarkyTheDirewolf · 07/11/2015 17:53

I love OBEM etc Nant my favourite bar none is call the midwife though! I love the idea of a home birth. DH has been dispatched off to work and I'm settling with the dogs and waiting for my DM and Dsis to come round for a brew! Watching Dr who on Netflix. What's everyone up to this dreary Saturday night?

Sshsecretenclosed · 07/11/2015 16:57

Have read today about sevenseas planning for a baby multivitamins - apparently they come well recommended! Have ordered myself some ready for Xmas time!

NantucketNightbird · 07/11/2015 16:16

Thanks for the welcome starky. It was a long time ago and I had my daughter a year to day after. But it still plays heavy on my mind.

I'm obsessively watching obem and 16 kids and counting Blush please tell me I'm not alone.
I've been crocheting for about 8 months but this is my first baby piece. Can't wait to see pictures of your creations!

StarkyTheDirewolf · 07/11/2015 16:11

Welcome Nantucket we are a motley crew of crocheters readying our loins for conception! I'm so sorry for your loss Flowers

I'm still on hats ,in in a fruit hat phase at the minute, some of you are going to have to have some babies soon otherwise I'll be overrun with banby beanies and bonnets! Still, they make DH go "awwww" so that can only be a good thing!

NantucketNightbird · 07/11/2015 15:44

Can I join? I've finally persuaded DH that it's a good idea for us to have one last baby. I've started taking 5mg folic acid which is a higher dose on prescription as I had a pregnancy with anencephaly almost 7 years ago which ended at 16wks. I'm 30 and my youngest child is about to turn 3 next week. So officially next month is when I can start. I'm just going to have sex as often a possible which will be a chore for me as I have a very low sex drive!

I've even started to crochet the call the midwife baby blanket Blush.

Pinklily1 · 07/11/2015 14:05

We're having a quiet day, the weather is awful up here, so just pottering about the house doing all the tasks we have been putting off. Then off out tonight for dinner.

Also doing a finance related spreadsheet for what our finances will look like when mat leave comes around - rock and roll!

StarkyTheDirewolf · 07/11/2015 14:02

Not in tww but about to ovulate, I do actually feel a bit sorry for DH, he won't know what's hit him! Making some roasted red pepper and cherry tomato soup and cleaning up. What's everyone up to today?

Runner05 · 07/11/2015 12:55

Haha! I think we must be at about the same stage Bergamot so at least we can be crazy symptom spotters together! Grin

No sore breasts for me but then I don't usually get that even at AF. I do want to eat everything in sight though and there are a few other things I could imagine are symptoms... The fluttery tummy is the only one that's unusual enough to make me take notice though. Hmm

Anyone else in the symptom spotting hell that is tww?

BergamotMouse · 07/11/2015 11:57

I'm in my tww runner. Currently about 3dpo and I'm sure my breasts are more sore than usual. But I'm always one to symptom spot - did it before we were even trying. DH learnt to just say 'yes dear' to my 'that's it, in definitively pregnant' comments once every few months. God knows what I'll be like in 10 days time.

BunchOfBobs · 07/11/2015 11:35

Eek Runner that's so exciting. fX crossed for you here!!
Symptoms that early are not unheard of.

Runner05 · 07/11/2015 11:00

Ages yet, if it is a symptom then it's literally shown up a couple of days after fertilisation. still here's hoping but I'm pretty sure that if I get so much as a twitch in my big toe I'll think it's a symptom! Hmm

It doesn't help that I just really, really want to catch straight away. I could do with something going right without a struggle for a change Blush

Pinklily1 · 07/11/2015 10:52

Oooh, Runner that sounds exciting! When will you be able to test?

Runner05 · 07/11/2015 10:46

Morning ladies, how are you all doing this horrible rainy day?

Sorry you didn't get the answer you wanted Secret but at least you've got something to look forward to.

So how many of us are in the tww? Joking aside I am struggling not to symptom spot. Although implantation doesn't happen for about 6 days your body starts producing hormones as soon as fertilisation happens and ever since Thursday by body has felt ever so slightly weird. It's kind off like the feeling you get after you've gone over a bridge too quickly and made your stomach flip, all fluttery and odd. I'm about 99% certain I'm imagining it but the sensation hasn't gone away.
I'm keeping my fingers crossed that it's real and not me going mental.

Sshsecretenclosed · 07/11/2015 10:44

Scrap that- Christmas Eve is last pill. Maybe that does make the beginning of ttc a bit romantic!

Sshsecretenclosed · 07/11/2015 10:25

Lily
It's two more packs Hmm
Means that 21st of December is last pill. Dh thinks it will be a great way to start the new year and mark our 'new chapter'. I have an awful headache this morning and can't help but feel a little disappointed. I think I'm just way too excited about the possibility of ttc. I feel really ready for the first time I think. Plus the tiniest newborn I've ever seen - in Costa yesterday, made my ovaries ache more than ever!

Morning everyone. Xx

Pinklily1 · 07/11/2015 09:12

Morning ladies

The Ben and Jerry's frozen yoghurt is yum. I love the strawberry cheesecake one. I try not to buy it though otherwise I would eat the entire tub over two days.

Secret - at least you know its not that long until you can stop taking it. Presumably its just one more pack?

My OH has said this morning that he's worried about finances and that when there is a baby, maybe I should just have 9 months rather than 12 months maternity leave. I don't really mind about that, but told him in no uncertain terms that he better not be looking to delay TTC. We've already been through the finances before, and although it will be tight, it is doable, so I'm not having him change his mind now

Deborah - I don't use the app so not had any problems.
