Geek - how embarrassed am I? talk about teaching your Granny to suck eggs! so sorry. Does that mean though that you can solve my problem? I am trying to move my software to another computer without losing my past cycles, how can I move them?

Temp dropped by .3 this morning

MrsMcClaus · 16/12/2006 10:17

XmassyCharlotte - hello! I few cycles ago, I got myself really worked up abou the negative OPKs and as a result OV was delayed 2 days, not suggesting you are getting that way, just a warning that OV does depend on your mood etc whereas AF is unaffected. I'm only using the OPKs to use them up and out of curiosty but I'm not letting them stress me out, as for the saliva scope, the ferns are as elusive as sea monkeys (remember them?!) I'm Cd14 and no EWCM/wetness yet which is frankly a relief as if I OVd tomorrow with not a single viable BD, I would be devastated. DH did sleep in our bed with me last night which was nice but no action . Happy BDing!

XmassyCharlotte · 15/12/2006 23:42

Just wanted to say cycle buddy MrsMc - I'm also getting negatives all round with the OPKs and microscope. NADA.

I've used about 10 OPKs in 5/6 days... been saliva microscoping at least twice a day... CM isn't exactly EW consistency - and am CD14 on a 27 day average cycle - usually OV ~CD14-15. Harrumph!

MrsMcClaus · 15/12/2006 20:07

Geek - do you think you OVd today?

Very jealous of all the BDing all you ladies have been doing!

MrsMcClaus · 15/12/2006 19:29

Hello - my software has started doing something new if it changes my temp due to getting up early or late, it details it in the notes. It's never done that before!

CD13 and the saliva scope and OPK have not worked again today thought I saw sliht ferning last night on the SS but could have been wishful thinking.

Sparklytreeangel - glad you are feeling you've done your best this cycle, it's all you can do . Hope your LP is 10 days plus. I find the software helps me too.

Geek - Busy lady! Can your Dh give mine a pep talk?! Hope th op goes ok. That's great about the EPO!

Off to do some chart spotting.

sparklytreeangel · 15/12/2006 12:02

Hello everyone Greedy you made me LOL so much yesterday my manager thought I'd been drinking at lunchtime!
Not having any of my own that's something funny to look forward to!
I've found the chart software really useful.
Finished this month's bd marathon
OVd later than I thought I normally did this month but with the temping, CBFM, CM checks I am in no doubt as to when.
Now its just a waiting game to see whether I have a short luteal phase after all or just OVd later!

geekInSillySantaHat · 15/12/2006 11:16

MrsMc - no not worried about anything serious, just got loads of things on. I volunteer with a youth group, and it's our Christmas party tonight which has taken a fair amount of prep the past few weeks, and I'm also helping a gaggle of them learn some christmas carols so we can go sing at our local hospital Plus all the normal christmas card writing, shopping, present wrapping, mince pie making, blah blah blah... All good Christmassy stuff, but it's keeping me busy busy busy!

So sorry your DH is not feeling inspired about TTC at the mo, must be so frustrating for you on lots of levels. Mine's still pretty positive fortunately, and we've got a few more days of BDing to go this cycle. Then he's having an op on his toe next Thursday - nothing as major as what your DH went through from the sounds of it, but I can't help worrying about him anyway...

Btw, I've been taking evening primose oil this month, and I have noticed a difference in CM already! It could actually be described as eggwhitey (or 'eeuwww!', as I can't help saying in my head whenever I read EWCM ), which is pretty disgusting but encouraging at the same time!

We3catsofMNare · 14/12/2006 22:15

Sorry about AF snowy. That was a short cycle.

Glad I'm not the only one with no privacy, Greedy.

MrsMc, you lose all inhibitions once you have children.

Until tomorrow...goodnight ladies.

MrsMcClaus · 14/12/2006 20:50

{fgrin] Laughing at your kids, I'd be mortified but I am sure I'll learn - if I get the chance that is.

Snowydays - sorry about AF, I really am but your attitude is great, keep it up!

My saliva monitor continues to anger me, I have given up looking at it, I use it and then ask DH to check it!

greedyformincepies · 14/12/2006 15:21

3cats! i am glad you get that with your kids too!.....my ds's favorite is....'what is that blue thing? the string? what is it? can i pull it please mummy?' and he follows me round the house with my tampons saying ' would you like one of these mummy, ladies need these, do you want one!?'

greedyformincepies · 14/12/2006 15:16

oh snowy! thats such a shame about af. just goes to show that the charting doesn't show us that much after all and there is no point looking for temp dips and rises cos they really could mean anything or nothing! i am so sorry for you, but you sound quite chirpy despite of mean old af! i am sure you have heard it all before.....but i know 3 people who took clomid and all fell pg within 2 months and one of them with twins! GOOD LUCK!

by the way....if only my chart had ended with a bfp!? i take it you meant bfn, you donut!

snowydays · 14/12/2006 11:22

Awww. Thanks you guys for remembering me in your posts - I was, of course, popping in for lurking sessions and was touched you were keeping watch.

If Greedy hadn't had (what, in my understanding was) a pretty text book PG temperature chart and ending up with a BFP, I would have been very excited about my chart... the longest LP I've had since charting, and not the usual below coverline dips. (looks like b6 has helped)
I've been ignoring cramps for 3 days and taking it very easy, but today the bitch arrived. DOESN'T SHE KNOW IT'S CHRISTMAS.

So... tomorrow I start Clomid for 5 days- so if you look at my chart don't be surprised if it looks odd, I understand it can increase BBT. It can also reduce CM so the PreSeed is on hand for the first time... so we'll see how it goes.

IF my ov time doesn't change we'll be sneaking cheeky festive sessions in my parent's house - Although they are equally desperate to be Grandparents as we are to become parents... I'm not sure we can say "we're just popping upstairs to get another one in"... but then again...

I'm sure I'll pop in before Christmas - but wishing you lots of loved up BDing, mince pies and festive fun.

XmassyCharlotte · 14/12/2006 10:35

Hi 3cats

Reassuring about the saliva ferning. This cycle I've been doing a swab every morning before I eat/drink anything and - nada, except on CD5 or 6, when I looked at the microscope HOURS after having left a swab and it was full of ferns. Discounted that reading as it hadn't shown anything earlier when I'd had a look at it. Haven't seen anything similar since.

Lol @ your lack of privacy with the children... and to think this is what I'm so desperately aiming for with my life!! I'm TTC #1, so it'll all be a big shock to the system I'm sure! I'm terrible at resisting the urge to test, whether it be for OV or for a BFP. Bought loads of cheapie tests from Access Diagnostics but now I just go through them even faster.

Am getting very frustrated with the OPKs though. Just did one this morning (cheapie type) and it came up with a faint line next to the control. Typical me thought oh! maybe I should try with a Clearblue one to double check... again, a faint line with that one. So today I've used 2 OPKs and it's not even 11am!! I know I'm supposed to wait until later in the day so no doubt I'll convince myself to use another one later just to double check.

We3catsofMNare · 14/12/2006 10:18

Nope, not working today.

We3catsofMNare · 14/12/2006 10:18

What happened to my sad face emoticon?
Xmas Sad

We3catsofMNare · 14/12/2006 10:16

Hello MrsMc, good to see you again. .

Xmassycharlotte, the saliva microscopes can be a bit hit and miss. I got very frustrated with mine in the beginning. Now I only use it when I think Ov is coming up, based on the temping. Still get some ferns when I shouldn't and none when I should. I'm glad I don't use it on it's own, I wouldn't have a clue what was going on (well less of a clue than I do now !).

We're all trying so hard we should get some more BFPs soon.

I've got a feeling that my AF will come and go before DH and I BD again! Due 22/12 since Ov moved. May test early with my one remaining test perhaps Tuesday. Silly I know but once the children finish school I won't have time or privacy to do it. I can't even change a sanitary towel without one of them asking me why I'm wearing a nappy and why am I bleeding from my front bottom !!!!
We have family staying this weekend so no chance to BD then. Not that we need to for baby making but fun would be a good reason. No chance! Xmas Sad

XmassyCharlotte · 13/12/2006 22:37

Hello MrsMc! Argh, know what you mean about having too public a desk to get away with personal internet use... oh the indignity!

Are you still using the saliva microscope? After your of my ferning on CD6, I haven't seen hide nor hair of another bleedin' fern since! Am preparing to throw my microscope in my Bin Of Useless Nonsense Items at the end of the month. Keep peering into it only to see... yup... think that's another load of...... random DOTS.

This issue of BD with dp really is very difficult... can understand what you're going through MrsMc. In our house dp is VERY stressed about his finances too... as the end of the tax year approaches he's decided to have a bit of a 'spring clean' and is worried about all sorts of things. He's working really hard, then coming home and working at home all evening sorting out various mortgages/property purchases/etc that are all going through. I'm freelance and my work is very up and down and I think that's making him more stressed too. It's not a good time to 'demand' anything of him. Last night we felt like awkward teenagers with each other - it was so weird!

It's great that everyone's so honest on here - it would be easy to sink even further down if everyone else pretended their lives were perfect, but you're right - it really does help knowing that we've all got our own crosses to bear... some of them surprisingly similar.

I think my own tactic is just to try and have fun with him over the next couple of weeks. I nearly had a fit this afternoon... I couldn't find the Pre-Seed that I ordered last week - it's been put away or thrown away and I couldn't find it and I nearly had a freak out that it might affect our chances. Hmmm. Time to c.a.l.m. down methinks!!!

Enough for now, better get back to being the Attentive Loving Partner that I am...

MrsMcClaus · 13/12/2006 21:58

3cats ? looking pretty sure that you OV now. Fingers crossed hun!

BBW ? how and where are you? When is AF due? Is the Boxing Day BDing going to be at a good time?

Wow, good going on the Bding Sparklytreeangel hope your hard work pays off!

Chart looks fine XmassyCharlotte ? action time!

Fingers crossed Snowy!

MrsMcClaus · 13/12/2006 21:48

Hello Ladies god, I am missing MN SO SO much!! Hey ho, I?m back now for a wee bit for a quick fix . I?ll go and have a chart spot in a mo. It?s the new job, I have such a public desk that there is just no way I can look at MN during the day .

Yipee ? Greedy?s back so glad you?ve finished sulking and are back with us Now, what?s all this negativity?!

Hello We3cats ? of the ferns you got but can appreciate your frustration this cycle, you are normally like clockwork! It certainly is possible to start OV and stop because the hormones are not quite at the right level, I think I have done that a few cycles too. You must be feeling really stressed. Thank you for missing me!

Hi Sparklytreeangel ? time of rest for you then!

Geek ? so glad you are ok, hope you are not worried about anything serious. I hope you plan works, I am treading so carefully round DH but we had to stop mid BD on Monday night because he was too tired and he?s not had a glimmer of interest in doing anymore since. I am getting that horrible retracting feeling inside again that I get when I feel like I am doing everything I can but can?t do it alone and he is not helping me I know he is recovering from an op but I think he is dwelling on money issues whilst he is home alone all day and that he might be subconsciously holding out on me.

XmassyCharlotte - Know exactly how you feel, isn?t it nice to know that we are not alone in how we feel about TTC?

Hello Natty

XmassyCharlotte · 13/12/2006 14:27

Thanks greedy! Guess it does make sense.

Does that mean we've got to do more BDing? We've already done it twice in twelve days!

greedyformincepies · 13/12/2006 14:04

xmassy - i think it says 'very low' if you bd more than 2 days before ov. so, there is a chance you could concieve, but its less chance than if you bd the day before ov and the day of ov! make sense?

XmassyCharlotte · 13/12/2006 13:59

Sorry 3cats - our posts crossed! Thanks for looking at my chart.

Yes, I do try to take my temp at the same time each day, and as you say the s/w adjusts for the other days.

I noticed today that on the Fertility Advisor tab, it said that even though we BDd this morning, and I'm supposedly in my fertile phase, it said the chances of conception were 'Very Low'. Does anyone know why that is? Is that because it hasn't sensed OV yet? Surely even if the s/w hasn't detected OV there's still a chance of conception if you BD up to 5 days before?

This is only my second month of trying (sort of) properly - I'm certainly enjoying the process (at the moment) of charting each day and trying to understand the signs my body gives me. If only we'd been taught this when we were teenagers!! My cycles are usually 27/28 days. It's weird actually - I have always had quite long cycles (35+ days), and recently lost quite a lot of weight. Now my cycles are much shorter. I'm hoping it's a good thing, but who knows!

Yes - where are you MrsMc?! I know you've started a new job so no doubt you're doing the New Girl thing and Being Good! Hope the job's going well, anyway... but do let me know, as your cycle buddy, how things are bubbling along!!

Festive babydust to all xxxx

Natty1806 · 13/12/2006 13:51

Hi 3 cats

I am well thanks, having a break from mn has done me the world of good, no tears when af arrived this month.

Aim to bd much more than we have been doing so am feeling more positive about this cycle. only on CD6 so am waiting to the weekend then aim for at least everyother day until CD23 ish maybe everyday if i can manage it and oH is willing.

Sorry have not had time to read through the thread, hope everyone is well.

xx

XmassyCharlotte · 13/12/2006 09:49

Hi We3cats...

Know how you feel when you're not doing enough BDing, or 'real life' gets in the way (I probably WOULD have thrown the tree out of the window, the way I feel right now!!)... that's kind of what we've been going through.

My dp is finding the pressure really hard; knowing how he SHOULD be feeling, and what we SHOULD be doing when we go to bed each night... it's not what he's used to and I think it might take a while to start to feel natural, doing 'it' TTC rather than just because we want to.

We3catsofMNare · 13/12/2006 09:48

Xmassycharlotte, your chart seems ok. Are you taking your temp at the same time each day?

I tend not to but then the s/w adjusts it and it seems to be fine.

It's still early days yet so keep going and see what happens.

How long are your cycles usually?

We've had a pretty poor month for BDing too. I'm sure everyone has an off month.
Once the s/w gets to know your cycle and you get to know when you are likely to Ov, it shouldn't be as stressful (easy to say, I know).
Although I still get stressed I feel I know my body and my cycle a bit better since charting. This is my 4th cycle of charting.
Christmas is stressful anyway so we're all probably getting a double dose of stress.

Snowy, your chart looks good today. Are we in for some good news? I do hope so. Fingers crossed for you.

Are you OK MrsMc? You've gone a bit quiet. We miss you when you disappear for a bit.

How are you doing Natty?
Are you busy over Christmas or will it be a peaceful one?

Love and babydust

We3catsofMNare · 13/12/2006 09:30

Morning ladies.

Well I'm sad to say that we didn't manage to BD last night Xmas Sad. We argued about the christmas tree instead! We rarely argue but this damn tree just won't stay in it's pot.
DH was tired and wanted to go to bed but I was afraid that if we left the tree it could fall on one of the children today as it's unstable. We've been sorting this tree out for the past 3 nights and we've both had enough. I could have thrown it out of the window last night. .

Now the s/w has moved Ov to Sunday (last). As you will see from my chart we only BD'd on saturday.

DH has a 2 hr journey to work and 2 hr journey home, everyday. He's only been doing it for 6 weeks but it's really taking it's toll.

Sorry had a bit of a rant.

Well I must go and chart spot now.

Back soon
