Anyone ttc baby #2?

I had an awful night.had the worst of backaches and period pain.am drunk with painstop instead of the intended drink

Just wanted to send out a note of caution over working by ovulation calculators. Using OPKs I found out I ovulate around day 8/9 of a 23-28 day cycle. It was much earlier than I expected and I think I could have missed my fertile window using a calculator. I think cervical fluid is a good back up for checking you are ovulating when you think you are.

I'm ok thanks, feeling much better. Still sad, but it feels like less of a punch in the gut. Just feeling very hopeful for next month! The waiting is driving me insane, I'm impatient at the best of times.

Shorty I tried opks one month and they did my head in too. I'm going to keep going naturally but if it takes a few more months then I'll probably try them again more seriously. At the moment I'm just using the babycentre ovulation predictor and roughly doing it eod within that time period. And by 'roughly' I mean 'sort of', rather than commenting on our dtd style

I've got another damn flashing smiley arghhhhhhh. Cd 17 and 9th flashing. I'm gonna use the entire pack but half thinking I should bin them. Not worth the stress. X

shorty hope your better soon. My LG had had it, she's getting better now though. The bug was here 3 weeks ago and has decided to come back. As long as it stays away from me this time lol

Shorty - I used cheap OPKs so don't know much about ones that flash with smiley faces etc , but if lines r similar in darkeness I'm assuming that's a good sign , sure ul know soon enough in a few wks X

Urgh sickness bug has hit our house and without tmi although we dtd last night my night was so rough I'm sure nothing could've withstood it.
Opk still bloody flashing but the lines inside are more even and the oestrogen one is fainter. Is this supposed to be a good sign O is on the way?

Not long back from my booking app , all went well apart from my blood spraying over myself and the midwife during blood tests lol also ft scan date for 6 th of Jan something to look forward to in the new year ! X

I've held off joining but been lurking for a long time. I'm in the same boat as you hoggle and had 3 days where I thought I was pregnant before late AF arrived. Think it was a chemical pregnancy as I had all the symptoms. Its so disappointing.

Consoling myself by remembering I can drink at Christmas.

Now planning for next month. Should O around around 20th which is a shame as if it was later me and DP would have time off work so could get down to some BD.

I have a nearly 2 year old DS.

Thanks very much everyone. I am a bit in shock I think, didn't think it would happen so quick at my age.

For Hoggle. Really sorry to hear that your tests have gone negative. My best friend successfully conceived immediately after a chemical pregnancy, so it seems it can happen. Are you doing ovulation tests? They might help with dating if your cycles are thrown off.

I also wanted to let people know the extra things I did to try to get pregnant this month. I don't know if they made a difference or if it is just coincidence. I was taking red clover and angus castus. Last time I was taking these was for endometriosis (mild), and I got pregnant with DD very unexpectedly. So I thought I'd try again... I also used balance activ fertility gel. I'm 38 so reckoned I should throw everything at the effort!

Fingers crossed for everyone trying and waiting to test.

Bit late to the party but I think I belong here. DS was a one hit wonder, I got upduffed straight after our honeymoon but #2 is proving more elusive. Currently on cycle 3 and watching everyone around me announce pregnancies.

Hi jp lovely to hear from you! Glad you're having a good lead up to Christmas. I'm all excited this year, ds is about to turn 2 and it's so fun hyping him up about everything.

Unfortunately pg tests are now negative and I woke up to bleeding so I think AF is on the way. Not sure with chemical pregnancies what happens really - is the bleeding essentially just a late period and can I count it as such? Just wondering whether, if we get pg next month, is this AF reliable for dating purposes?

Anyway, am trying to be c'est la vie about it all but at the moment I'm just gutted. Dh is (rightfully) seeing it as just one of those unfortunate things whereas it feels like a real loss to me. I guess because for those 2 days you start thinking about the little thing inside you and taking more care, start eating better etc, but suddenly it's all gone. At least I have lots of things to look forward to, ds is 2 next week and then obviously there's the Big Day itself.

Def echoing jp though that it's lovely to hear of everyone else and how their pg's are progressing. If nothing else it gives me hope we'll be joining you soon!
